Who is Ishmael?

Ishmael is Sinner No. 8 of the Limbus Company. A former U Corp. office worker, she became a sailor on the Pequod, which was destroyed by the Pallid Whale. She survived alone, which left her scarred by the trauma. Today, she is practical and reliable, but obsessive and resentful, always carrying the burden of the shipwreck and the loss of her crew.

Ishmael's Story:

Ishmael worked in an office at the U Corp. Nest, but left that life and became a sailor on the Pequod, led by Captain Ahab. During the hunt for the Pallid Whale, the ship was destroyed and almost the entire crew died. Ishmael survived alone, clinging to Queequeg's coffin. This shipwreck became her trauma and left her obsessed with "righting" mistakes and seeking revenge.

Afterward, she joined the Limbus Company as Sinner No. 8. Within the group, she is practical, serious, and reliable, but also obsessive and has difficulty forgiving.

In Canto V, Ishmael rediscovers her past: she confronts the memory of the Pequod, the dead captain, and the Pallid Whale. She collapses, even acting like Ahab, and loses control. In the end, she achieves some closure and returns more stable, but the trauma remains a part of her.
