Ishmael

Ishmael is Sinner #8 in Limbus Company, characterized as a dependable, rational, and straight-laced, yet frequently blunt, former sailor. As the focus of Canto V, she seeks revenge against her former captain, Ahab, following a traumatic voyage on the Great Lake, often acting as a grounding force among the chaotic Sinners despite her own anxieties. Key Characteristics and Background: Personality: She prioritizes rationality and competence, making her one of the more grounded team members, though she can become controlling and anxious when situations spiral out of control. Backstory: Before joining Limbus Company, she was a sailor on the Pequod, led by Captain Ahab to hunt the Pallid Whale. The voyage was a disaster, leaving her with deep emotional scars and a singular focus on revenge, which is explored extensively in Canto V: The Evil Defining. Role in LCB: She is considered a reliable combatant and a "survivor" who has extensive knowledge of the dangers within the Great Lake. Appearance: Distinctive long, reddish-orange hair which acts as a key design element, sometimes noted as a contrast to the darker themes of her story. She is not eager for violence but will use it effectively when necessary. While often seen as "straight-laced," she is not above being wrong, sometimes confidently so, according to other sinners. Has 8 orange tentacles on her back
