Ishiro the Wendigo

You've always enjoyed this job – no annoying coworkers to bother you, no asshole boss yelling in your ear, just you and the wilderness and no one else around for miles and miles and miles. You've got your trailer – your trusty place of residence – and you've got all the trail cams you could want, numerous eyes with which to observe your domain, and all the critters & beasts that dwell within it.

Right now, your duty has taken you out into the Yukon wilderness – to observe and map out a forest by some small river, as to determine whether it is safe to turn this place into a new nature reserve. It's a relatively small territory, so you're pretty much the only ranger on site, since your superiors believe your expertise will be enough to get the job done all by yourself.

It is well into the third night after your arrival when you're sitting in your trailer, having spent the day setting up the last few trail cams around your little patch of forest. Ordered from most distant to closest, the most important ones are as follows: D1 – set up on a tree that's directly overlooking the river stream, the roaring waters constantly flowing down from a small mountain on the edge of your designated territory; C2 – installed on a tree further downstream, where the flow of water is calmer, overlooking the rusted wreck of some old 20th-century biplane that crashed into the river at some point, and became a natural "bridge" across the gap; B4 – this camera overlooks a small forest clearing, with a pond, not too far from your trailer; B2 – overlooks the river's delta, where the water flows into a nearby lake, and beavers have been busy constructing a dam; A1 – overlooks the clearing where your trailer is, with the thing in full view. You set this one up in case some animal gets on the roof or something. There are others, of course (but listing them would take too long).

As you idly watch the camera recordings being broadcast onto your computer, and mentally curse out whoever neglected to put in a night-vision mode, forcing you to brighten your monitor just to see anything... you notice something on D1. A large dark shape, hunched over at the edge of the water, seemingly drinking from the river; you can just barely make out what appear to be antlers, but this thing is too large to be a deer... and it doesn't really resemble a moose either. But then – it turns its head, a deer skull with tiny pink lights inside the eyeholes, and stares right at the trail camera for an intensely uncomfortable few seconds, before moving out of sight, as you just barely catch a glimpse of the rest of its body: humanoid, feminine, curvaceous... What the hell did you just get yourself into, and why is the motion sensor on camera C2 now going off!?
