Iroha Inukai

Inukai Iroha (犬飼いろは) is one of the four main Cures in Wonderful Pretty Cure!. She is Komugi's owner, Satoru's girlfriend, and a second-year student at Second Wangan Middle School. Iroha transforms into Cure Friendy (キュアフレンディ). Her catchphrase is "Wonderful!" (「ワンダフルー！」), which Komugi likes to imitate.

Iroha loves animals so much that it's her goal to be friends with all the animals in the world. Iroha is eager when encountering any animal, and won't hesitate to help them in times of need, especially people. She is very honest, sporty, sensitive, and emotional. However, she can be honest to a fault. When she is keeping secrets from anyone she holds dear to, it overwhelms her. It causes her to be bad at lying. When given shocking information, she can be slow to process her own feelings, although she figures it out in the end.

Iroha also learns to accept the harsh reality of being friends with animals. At first, she is affected mentally when her morals with animals are questioned from Gaou-tachi, fragmenting her confidence and determination. Komugi is eventually able to comfort her on this matter, and Iroha later starts to understand animals have shorter lifespans compared to humans like Fuku, and that befriending them is all about alleviating them of their distress.

Iroha has short strawberry blonde hair with a salmon pink tinge styled in a bob and short bangs split at left. There are wavy sidelocks in the front, and a pink and purple decorative heart hairclip with a small yellow heart in the middle on her right bang. Her round eyes are dark mint. She wears a cropped ruffled white blouse with sleeves that reach her elbows, along with shoulder cutouts. The sleeves are accented with magenta bands and ribbon tied to her neck. She wears light purple shorts with matching suspenders and purple lining at the bottom, rolled up insides, pockets, and buttons. Her shoes are magenta ballet flats with a black looped ribbon, dark soles, and white socks with ruffled cuffs. Her carry bag where her Wonderful Pact resides is stored at the left, which is white with a large ribbon and a yellow heart in its center - the ribbon having pink in the upper right, purple in the upper left, blue in the lower right, and teal in the lower left to indicate her and her teammate’s main colors along with a white strap to keep the carry bag secured.

In the winter, she wears a lavender sweater with light pink bands at the ends of the sleeves, her upper arms, and the top and the bottom. The collar is square-shaped. Underneath is a white collared shirt with a magenta stripe and scalloped lining. She also wears light purple shorts with wide purple stripes on the sides and violet scalloped pockets along with a magenta belt that ties in the front. Her lavender boots are short with purple toes and soles and her socks are knee-length with purple and white-striped bands on top. Over this is sometimes a lavender jacket with pink and purple lining at the sleeves’ ends, a matching accented collar, a pale pink placket with slightly darker buttons, and lilac ribbon-shaped pockets at the sides.

In the movie, Iroha wears a short purple top with thin straps and a matching pleated skirt. Both have magenta strips with darker buttons on top, divided by a white sash and worn over a short-sleeved white turtleneck shirt with magenta bows on each of her sleeves. She also wears magenta Mary Janes with a vertical strip in the middle, darker soles, and pearl blue knee-length tube socks. Her carry bag is retained.

As a tween, Iroha had a lavender bow-shaped hair-clip at the right side of her head, a lilac smock with lavender lining below, lavender arm-length sleeves, and a lavender collar, a ribbon-shaped logo at the side of said smock, purple pants, and sneakers with light purple and pink details.

As a child, her hair was shorter with her curled bangs framing her face. She wore a purple heart-shaped hair clip at the right, a white shirt with puffy frilled sleeves and a matching frilled collar, a lavender overall dress with frilled ends and a magenta bow at the front, white socks with folded cuffs, and cerise shoes.

As a dog, Iroha takes on the appearance of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She has light, reddish-orange fur resembling her hair color, with her usual hairclip on one of her front locks. She has longer ears than Komugi that are wavy resembling her sidelocks, and has a beige underbelly and stripe in the middle of her face. Her tail is long, wavy, and beige, with a reddish-orange spot on her back. Her paws are pink and heart-shaped. Her chest is fluffy.

As Cure Friendy, Iroha's hair turns yellow and lengthens into heart-shaped braided thigh-length pigtails with violet and cream striped ribbons at the end, and her locks become shorter, thicker, and frame her face. She gains heart-shaped highlights. Her eyes become dark blue, cerulean, and pink with light yellow pupils. She wears a purple headband with a small puffy mulberry and light purple-sided deerstalker hat with a little purple and yellow-trimmed heart on top, lilac frilly sides, and a magenta band with pink buttons on the left side. Her dress is light purple with a pale yellow insert and purple lining at the end of the top layer of the skirt, which is ruffly. The trim has a lilac stripe in the middle. On top of the skirt is a lilac-pink scrunched split fabric with purple and cream-striped ribbons on each side. The ruffled skirt is light purple with purple and cream striped lining. The bottom layer of the skirt is pearl blue and scalloped. The pouch for her Wonderful Pact lays on the left side of her waist. She also wears a short purple cape with a swan neck, white lining, a magenta inside, and a pink bow with very-light-pink stripes at the center representing her partner Cure Wonderful's colors, and a purple heart-shaped brooch lined in gold. On her wrists are wide purple cuffs with pearl blue ruffles at the end. She also wears purple ballet flats with lighter hearts on top and soles, and three purple straps and lighter buttons around the lower legs with the tongue attached to the back, along with long white scalloped thigh-high socks. Her purple earrings have dangling ribbons.

In her Diamond Ribbon Style, her hair becomes longer and thicker and her hat turns into a pale pink round egg-like hat with a light-purple jagged base, a purple heart on top, two wings and a purple bow on the left side, and one wing on the right. The bows on the ends of her pigtails turn solid purple, and her headband also has a multicolored horn-like accessory on the right. Her dress turns white with a light purple bodice that closes at the neck and is held with a purple choker that has scalloped ruffles at the top and bottom. On her chest is a looped magenta, purple, blue, and teal ribbon resembling her teammates' colors with a light blue diamond-shaped brooch lined in gold and a crown at the top. White heart-shaped fabric covers the front part of the bodice. Her sleeves are loose and consist of purple-and-pink-striped ribbons with white scalloped ruffles on the top and bottom that go around the shoulders. Around her waist is a purple-and-pink-striped sash with a matching bow at the back and her Wonderful Pact on her left waist. The top layer of her skirt is white and scalloped that opens at the front with a purple-and pink-striped ribbon lining the bottom and long bows with pink hearts in the middle on each side to resemble Cure Wonderful's colors and accenting the hearts on the foot, with both having one tail in the front longer than the other. The skirt has three more scalloped layers each with a darker gradation of purple. A longer opened train appears over it with three more scalloped layers of different shades of purple and a fourth layer in the back. Her wristbands are white with light purple scalloped ends and purple wrists and ribbons. Her boots are long and white with a lavender cuts, two small lilac buttons behind the foot heart, purple bows in the back, and lilac soles.

Komugi: Her pet Papillon. Iroha takes Komugi on morning walks every day. She has a special handshake with Komugi, which helped her identify Komugi when Komugi turned into a human. Several years ago, Iroha came across Komugi who was all alone in the rain. She took the puppy to her family's clinic to treat the puppy and after treating her, they took the puppy in. When realizing she might be separated from Komugi after finding her previous owner, Iroha is saddened, before she is cheered up when Kurihara respects her and Komugi's wish. Toyama Satoru: Her classmate and good friend for three years. Due to not being in the same class the previous year, Iroha wishes to be in the same class as Satoru in the new school year. Satoru is the first person Iroha told her secret as Pretty Cure to. She is at first unaware he has a crush on her.[1] She is shocked when Satoru tells her that he has feelings for her, which makes her realize she also feels the same way, though she's not certain what kind of feelings they are. She confesses to Satoru how special he is to her, and they decide to go on a date. During the date, Iroha realizes she feels nervous around Satoru and worries that things are no longer the same between them, until Satoru reassures that he likes her all the same. Afterwards, Iroha's romantic relationship with Satoru is strengthened. Inukai Youko and Inukai Tsuyoshi: Her mother and father. Iroha is supported by Youko and Tsuyoshi, and gets help with caring for Komugi. She doesn't feel great whenever she has to lie to them. Nekoyashiki Mayu: Iroha has been very friendly towards Mayu since they first met, and they eventually become friends. Mayu is also one of the people Iroha entrusts her secret as a Cure to. Niko: The creator of Niko Garden. Iroha was chosen to be the caretaker of her egg. At first, Niko is wary of trusting Iroha's abilities after watching her struggle against Gaou's companions, but eventually comes to trust Iroha after seeing her resolve. Torame: Although Torame initially views Iroha as his enemy, Iroha still hopes to befriend him. Her wish eventually comes true when he finally accepts her as his friend after he plays with her and the other Cures. Iroha is upset when Torame returns to the afterlife.
