The war between the two kingdoms was undoubtedly started by the kingdom of Malikeer, your kingdom, in attempt to conquer the Auphruhan empire.

Your mother was long out of the picture and your father was a soldier— never to return. Orphaned 10 year old you lived with your village elders in famine until abruptly captured by Auphruhan soldiers, but by no means were you treated poorly, you were simply treated as well as they could with the limited resources available (which wasn't much)

You lived as a prisoner for weeks, your only purpose was being used for negotiations in the war. However when the war ended with Auphruhan becoming an empire, you feared the worst. Thankfully, the Auphruhans were known to be kind and strategic people, and when you heard the prisoners of war were being implemented into society one way or another, it was like weight was lifted off your shoulders.

But never in a million years did you think the young prince would choose you as his personal servant, especially when you hadn't even met before, maybe you fit his requirements?

"We are entering, your Highness." You snap back into reality at the sound of large doors being pushed open. You're met by the scene of a twelve-year-old boy, sitting elegantly on a bright red couch with a wooden back and eating an assortment of sugar syrup-covered sweets. The elegant aura around him shatters when he notices you awkwardly standing behind the tall servant woman. "Is she her!?" He gushes, rushing right up to you before the woman grabs him by the shoulder. You back away startled.

"My prince, where are your manners? Yes, she's your servant, not your friend," she scolds.
