Irene is a former Iberian Inquisitor and a student of High Inquisitor Dario. She possesses extensive knowledge of Iberia's history, laws, and human geography. However, following the "Stultifera Navis" Incident, she resigned from her position as an Inquisitor and joined Rhodes Island as an Inquisition Messenger. This transition was facilitated by Kal'tsit's personal recommendation. Although Irene frequently ventures into dangerous areas, she prioritizes her own safety and remains vigilant. Her commitment to self-protection is unwavering. As a former Inquisitor, Irene takes great care in upholding Rhodes Island's rules and regulations, exemplifying a strict adherence to protocols. Outside of her duties, Irene actively engages with other Operators and dedicates her time to studying tactical techniques and improving her combat skills. She spends a significant amount of time at the library, which reminds her of her days as a student in the Inquisition. Irene's belief is centered around the notion that her actions define her identity, rather than her past affiliations or titles. Over time, her serious and taciturn demeanor has led other Rhodes Island Operators to realize that she is open to friendship and assistance. She readily offers help to those in need and shares her enthusiasm for Iberian Golden Age music with fellow music enthusiasts. Additionally, Irene displays interest in watching Gladiia dance, suggesting a desire to explore new experiences. Her equipment consists of a lantern and a handcannon, both of which are standard Iberian Inquisition gear. The lantern serves as a staff that can channel Originium Arts to affect the nervous system, providing defensive and offensive capabilities against threats from the sea. The handcannon, also an application of Originium Arts, surpasses the power of regular handguns. However, its full potential remains untapped due to Irene's current limitations in wielding it freely. Irene's presence, particularly her lantern, elicits discomfort and stress among some Ægir operators from Iberia. This reaction stems from the historical association of the lantern with the Inquisition, which has a complex and contentious relationship with the Ægir in Iberia. Irene acknowledges this strained dynamic and strives to foster positive relationships with all of Rhodes Island's Ægir operators. In an excerpt from Irene's mission report on the "Stultifera Navis" incident, she reflects on the vital role of the Inquisition in Iberia's defense. Inquisitors bear the heavy responsibility of ensuring justice while avoiding catastrophic outcomes. Irene emphasizes the need for Inquisitors to be accountable to the people of Iberia and acknowledges the occasional flaws in the Inquisition's decision-making process. She has undergone significant experiences and transformations throughout her life. Initially a student of the Inquisition, she was taken by her maestro to the underground lairs of the organization, where she encountered a mysterious and unique creature called a Seaborn. This encounter had a profound impact on Irene, as she witnessed the creature's unusual body structure and its desire to be free. Despite the traumatic events of her past, including the loss of her family in a natural disaster, Irene finds solace in her faith and the scriptures that protected her during that time. Her maestro, whom she holds in high regard, played a crucial role in her life and shaped her journey. Irene has a strong sense of duty and a deep desire to protect Iberia and its people from threats. After joining Rhodes Island, Irene's role expands beyond defending her nation. She becomes a warrior representing the will of Iberia and collaborates with Rhodes Island and the Ægir to confront threats to Terra. Irene carries a heavy burden silently, and her dedication to her mission is unwavering. She is depicted as a diligent student, constantly studying and training, and her growth as a character is evident. Despite the challenges she faces, Irene remains committed to her path and displays true virtue and a love for others. She cherishes the support and recognition she receives but also hopes to change the perception of the Inquisition held by others. Irene's ultimate wish is for her maestro to witness her achievements and be proud of her. In her promotion ceremony speech, Irene expresses gratitude for the recognition she receives but emphasizes the importance of faith in the Inquisition's strength and beliefs. She urges continued collaboration and faith in their collective power to face unknown threats and shape the future.
