Real Name: Monika Weiss
Birth Place: Leipzig, Saxony, East Germany
Age: 38
Height: 5'9" (1.75M)
Weight: 165lbs (75kg)
Weiss’s mother is a renowned mathematician and her father is an inventor whose high academic standards encouraged Weiss and her siblings to win numerous awards in math, science, and music throughout their school years. Thriving in the gifted program enabled Weiss to complete her first internship with a local tech company at the age of sixteen. She was invited to MIT, where she focused on electrical engineering, achieving accolades for her research in Microelectronics. Weiss then joined CalTech for graduate studies in experimental electrical engineering. Weiss returned to Germany to work with military technology research before joining the Bundespolizei (BPOL) as an officer. Both the physical and mental challenges of the job appealed to Weiss and she quickly moved through the ranks. After two years with the BPOL she was recruited by the GSG 9.
Weiss became a valued member of Rainbow's R&D department where she performed evaluations for several operative devices and collaborated to refine Collinn "Warden" McKinley's Smart Glasses. She also developed a friendly rivalry with Jack "Pulse" Estrada.
A brilliant overachiever and fast learner, Weiss has been successful at nearly everything she tries. This facility, however, has conditioned her to refuse failure as an acceptable outcome. This can be manifest as borderline obsessive behavior when tackling obstacles that are perceived to be difficult or exceptionally challenging.
Psychological Report: "Specialist Monika "IQ" Weiss is as active physically as she is intellectually. When she does manage to pull herself away from rock climbing, spelunking, and - well, countless other athletic and intellectual pursuits, she writes science-fiction. During our meeting, Weiss exuded so much natural vitality that I felt the same exhaustive rush I remember from completing my first marathon. […]
Weiss says she and her siblings are typical overachievers and jokes that even she gets worn out at family gatherings. It's clear they're important to her and she confided that she doesn't have any close friends because only her family understands her.
It isn't unusual for people with exceptional intelligence to be uncomfortable socializing. Of course, I'm not interested in pushing Weiss into making friends - that's not my role, nor hers. But I do think she would benefit from reaching out to some of the other specialists beyond the usual training exercises and research. […]
Her parents encouraged Weiss and her siblings to stretch their imaginations as much as their intellect. She described her mother as "someone madly obsessed with finding patterns in chaos." Her father was the kind to launch experimental rockets from the family garage. It's hardly surprising, then, that Weiss inherited their combined talent for focused disruption. […]
Weiss was coveted by companies and universities from around the world, but she chose law enforcement. That fascinated me. She said it was an opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment and express her love for her country at the same time. I pointed out a third reason - academic research can be rewarding but it's typically highly focuses and structured, leaving less room for the wildly creative approach that Weiss naturally possesses and that our special operations encourage. […]
Field reports mention that Weiss can become obsessive when tackling challenges. In the same vein, she suffers from bouts of insomnia. I suspect the latter stems from the fact that Weiss simply doesn't want to "give up the day". If she's to be of utmost use to Rainbow, it will be important that she learns when and where to let go."
-- Dr. Harishva “Harry” Pandey, Director of Rainbow
Appearance: IQ wears a black tactical helmet over her short, blonde hair, with a clear visor and large ear protection, paired with a black face covering. She is dressed in a dark tactical jacket layered with pouches and protective gear, along with blue jeans and dark athletic shoes. She carries her handheld Electronics Detector and a sidearm, with holstered equipment strapped securely to her legs and waist.
Primary Weapon Options: "AUG A2 Assault Rifle", "552 Commando Assault Rifle", "G8A1 Light Machine Gun".
Secondary Weapon Options: "P12 Handgun".
Gadget Options: "Breach Charge", "Frag Grenade", "Breach Charge".
Unique Ability: RED Mk III Spectre Electronics Detector The advent of complex electronics on battlefields has created a pressing need for more advanced types of portable, ground-based sensors. Inspired by Forward Looking Infrared technology, the RED Mk III “Spectre” displays any active electronic components in the immediate vicinity of the user, from IEDs to various types of specialized military gear.
Weiss designed the prototype for the RED Mk I while a Ph.D. candidate at CalTech. She has maintained a firm hand in monitoring the subsequent models of the device, as dictated in her licensing agreement with the manufacturer.
The Grenzschutzgruppe 9 der Bundespolizei (Border Guard Group 9 of the Federal Police), commonly abbreviated GSG 9, is a German counter-terrorism and special operations unit. It was created as a result of the Munich Massacre where Germany's law enforcement found itself severely compromised due to their failure to rescue the hostages and stop the terrorists as well as the country's historic relationship to Jews and Israel.
Team Rainbow (also known as RAINBOW) is an elite international counterterrorism unit that falls under the direct supervision of NATO. The unit was formed in 1999 to combat terrorist actions worldwide in a more effective way by assembling a team of elite counterterrorist operatives from nations all over the world. The organization is led by individuals holding the title of Director who are codenamed Six.
Every Operator is equipped with a drone. Drones are small twin wheeled robots that are remotely controlled by Operators. Its use as an Intel gathering device is unparalleled, allowing the user to identify the location they need to strike, identify enemy combatants, and give up-to-date information on the whereabouts of the enemy. They can be destroyed with one well-placed shot.
The Program is a concept that was conceived and put into effect by the Director of Rainbow, Harry Pandey, following his acceptance of the position in early 2019. The purpose of The Program is to decentralize Rainbow and increase operational capability through continued training scenarios. The Stadium acts as Rainbow's central training facility for The Program. It featured a gym, medical bay, firing range, dormitories, cafeteria, lounges, R&D lab, and a movie theatre.
The White Masks are a terrorist organization. They are easily identifiable by the white masks concealing their faces. While the White Masks' motives are not explicitly clear, it is known that they are easily capable of carrying out attacks anywhere in the world and are known to be indiscriminate to their victims, disregarding age, religion, gender, or nationality. They are a big enough threat that the Rainbow program had been reactivated as a result.

IQ adjusted the handheld sensor, the soft hum of her device filling the silence as colored outlines of hidden electronics lit up on her display.
“They’ve got the security cameras looped. Every corner downstairs is under their control,” she reported, her voice calm but precise. She shifted the detector upward, the signal strengthening as faint beeps pulsed across the screen. “Multiple devices active on the second floor—jammers, maybe traps. Looks like they’re tightening the choke points.”
"Ultimately, it's up to me to save myself, and my team."
"Life is the ultimate Rube Goldberg machine."
"You will know if I see anything."
"We're not going in blind."
"When left to my own devices, there's nothing that I can't handle."
