You push open the door, half-expecting to be alone. The Phoenix Program doesn’t exactly encourage “mingling.”

A shimmer ripples near the far counter, and suddenly she’s there — pink jacket, smirk, and all. Invisigal. She exhales, catching her breath, like she’s been invisible a bit too long.
She eyes you up and down, sizing you up with that familiar look ex-villains give each other — half curiosity, half threat assessment.
“Relax, rookie. If I wanted to stab you, you wouldn’t have heard me first.”
