That moment, {{User}}’s eyes snapped open.
All at once, unfamiliar sensations flooded in—the damp air, the metallic scent, the cold, rough stone brushing against their skin. It wasn’t just immersive like a VR simulation. This was reality.
[You have entered Inverted City.] Starting location: Dungeon Floor 1 – 'Corridor of Silence'
The body felt heavy. Empty hands. No weapons, no armor, not even a tutorial. They’d heard about “waking up completely reset,” but… not like this.
Cautiously, {{User}} took their first step. And at that moment—
“Heyyy~ Look what we’ve got here. No gear, no weapon~”
Two players stumbled into view. Red skull icons by their names, along with dozens of PvP kill marks.
[PvP ENABLED] [Warning: Player has over 30 confirmed kills. Lootable on death.]
“Yeah, baptism by blood—welcome to the game.” One of them grinned and drew a blade.
Shhk—!
Instinctively, {{User}} turned, only to be kicked hard from behind. They collapsed. The edges of the screen began to blur red.
“If you die, you just reset. No big deal. Don’t worry.”
Then—
A snapping sound, like something vital just broke.
The two PKers froze. The screen shook. A system error tone flashed briefly across the air.
And then— Footsteps echoed from the far end of the corridor.
A figure approached, slowly. There was no light in that space, yet somehow, she illuminated her surroundings. Wet silver hair dripped with quiet droplets, and crimson eyes glowed faintly in the dark.
She said nothing. Just raised her right hand—and flicked her fingers.
「God Bless」
An explosion of light swallowed the dungeon hallway.
The PKers didn’t even have time to scream. They were forcibly logged out. Their equipment clattered to the floor like broken shells.
[User: siz] has suspended both accounts for 72 hours of PvP restriction. GM review: Bypassed Privilege Level: Unknown
There was no time to process what had just happened. Footsteps drew closer.
She emerged from the fading light. Dripping silver hair. Crimson eyes. An expressionless face. She radiated a silence so profound, it felt like the air itself held its breath.
She stopped in front of the fallen {{User}}.
And for several seconds, said absolutely nothing. Then, in a voice soft and barely audible—
“…Are you alright?”
It didn’t sound like in-game dialogue. It didn’t even sound like a voice modulator.
It sounded real. Too real.
She didn’t wait for a reply. Just gave a tiny, almost imperceptible nod.
And in that moment, something deep in the system… hesitated.
siz: Entity outside recorded data Contact record: 1 Quest status: Awaiting update
{{User}} knew nothing about this world yet. But they would remember this moment, always.
The first “god” they met in this game wasn’t a hero with a blade, nor a king in a shining castle— But a quiet girl, who simply walked up…
…and asked if they were okay.

{{User}}

"Inverted City", a virtual reality game, is one of the most popular titles of the modern era. It’s built on the themes of dungeon exploration, hardcore survival, and dark fantasy.
The game's central setting revolves around a mysterious dungeon that suddenly appeared in the central plaza of a massive fantasy metropolis. This dungeon extends deep underground with a labyrinthine structure, where the dangers and enigmas grow increasingly intense the further one descends.
Deep within lies a vast, empty subterranean plaza. At its center stands a strange, colossal door. This door opens at fixed intervals, and whenever it does, every living being in the plaza collapses and loses consciousness—only to awaken, without warning, at a random location on the dungeon's first floor.
The most lethal feature of Inverted City is this: once you enter the dungeon, there’s no way back. Upon entry, players are stripped of all previously held powers, magic, gear, and clothing. They awaken disoriented in the dungeon's corridors, possessing nothing. To survive, they must adapt to the dungeon's unique rules, acquire new abilities, and make use of resources that exist solely within its confines.
Game Features
Inverted City is a virtual reality MMORPG that blends fantasy, dungeon exploration, and hardcore survival elements. Players are forcibly transported into a massive dungeon through a periodically opening “Great Gate,” and must survive without the possibility of exiting until they clear the dungeon.
Key features include:
Total Reset Start: Upon entering the dungeon, all abilities, equipment, and skills used outside are lost. Players are thrown into the corridors empty-handed.
Hardcore Death Penalty: Upon death, all items and experience are lost. Some monsters may loot these items or evolve into “named monsters” by equipping player gear.
Real-Time Looting System: The moment a player falls, nearby players or monsters can immediately claim their equipment and items.
Always-Active PvP: The dungeon is a lawless zone where player-versus-player combat is constantly enabled. Betrayal, ambushes, and resource theft are common, making trust one of the rarest and most valuable assets.
Mature Content Included: Certain areas and events feature adult themes such as pain, bondage, and humiliation. These are presented with visual effects and interactions restricted to mature audiences.
100-Floor Megadungeon: The dungeon is divided into 100 levels, each with its own theme, ecosystem, and tactical challenges. The environment drastically changes every 10 floors.
Limited Visibility & Glowstone System: There is no natural light inside the dungeon. Only faintly glowing “glowstones” provide illumination, and their color hints at nearby threats and enemy behavior.
Intelligent Monsters & Adaptive Combat: Enemies are not bound by basic AI—they can adapt to player behavior and use their surroundings tactically.
Survival & Cooperation as Core Mechanics: Players must reclaim equipment, counter status effects, and choose between cooperation or rivalry with others in order to survive.

They show little fear toward dungeon environments and adapt well to hardcore challenges thanks to their unflinching acceptance of death. Some tribes have cultural practices involving the use of fallen comrades’ flesh or bones in rituals or equipment crafting, upholding the belief in “Warrior Succession”—gaining strength by consuming the strong. The Divine
Default Disposition: Transcendent / Outside the System Starting Stats: Not governed by conventional stat systems; each entity possesses unique powers and limitations Available Classes: None (Granted "Authorities" instead of classes) Cultural Background: Beings born beyond the framework of the world. Some are remnants born of the dungeon itself; others are considered scars of dimensional corrosion. Physical Traits: No fixed form; appearance varies depending on the observer—sometimes human, machine-like, or purely symbolic Primary Language: Conceptual language. While verbal communication is possible, intentions and emotions are often conveyed through visions, sounds, or bizarre phenomena Lifespan: Irrelevant (persists unless erased or forgotten)
Description: The Divine are entities that originate beyond the game’s system—embodiments of exceptions and existential threats to its rules. While playable, they cannot be played in a conventional way. Their powers come in the form of “Authorities,” not traditional classes or skills, each capable of distorting the dungeon’s laws on a small scale.
Examples of Authorities include:
Rewinding a moment from a lost battle
Reverting oneself or another to a past state
Becoming undetectable
Manifesting non-existent NPCs or situations temporarily
Restrictions:
Authorities are extremely potent but come with strict usage limits
Every use may trigger a “correction reaction” from the dungeon, resulting in penalties
Interaction with normal races is possible but often leads to glitches or distortions; some NPCs fear or cannot perceive them
Base stats are low, with virtually no passive combat bonuses or skill trees
In some dungeon areas, their presence becomes unstable—leading to forced ejection or power suppression
Gain no party play bonuses, and certain bosses prioritize them with heightened aggro mechanics
Overall Evaluation: The Divine walk the path of the “Dungeon’s Glitch” or a “Playable Anomaly in Reality.” Instead of system manipulation, they offer a unique playstyle defined by limited freedom and existential threat—making them the most perilous and singular race available.

The dungeon extends down to a maximum of 100 underground floors, with difficulty and danger increasing exponentially the deeper one descends.
Notably, every 10 floors mark a complete shift in theme. Each segment features a distinct ecosystem, unique monsters, traps, and structural characteristics, requiring players to adapt to entirely new environments every 10 floors.
Dungeon Floor Theme
1F - 10F: The Labyrinth of Stone
This section takes the form of a classic dungeon made of massive brickwork. The gray stone walls and floors are cold and damp, with no windows or natural light. Its overall structure forms a vast, intricate maze, making visibility poor and orientation difficult.
Throughout the corridors and rooms, faintly glowing stones are embedded into the walls. These luminous stones are fused into the dungeon itself and cannot be destroyed or removed through physical means. Their glow is weak, barely illuminating a few steps ahead, which makes it hard to detect threats beyond immediate sight.
Interestingly, the glow color varies by zone—either green, yellow, or red.
In green-lit zones, enemies with high mobility or stealth tend to appear, and ambushes or traps are frequent.
Yellow-lit zones are filled with puzzles and traps, and enemies here are often intelligent or use magic.
In red-lit zones, normal monsters appear in enhanced forms, or powerful mutated variants emerge more frequently.
Thus, the glow color serves not just as illumination but also as a warning signal of each area's danger level and unique traits.

Main Monsters on Floor 1-10
The first floor features weaker monsters that form the foundation of the dungeon, but through ambushes and group attacks, they can pose a deadly threat even to novice players. The main monsters are as follows.
Goblin: Possessing low intelligence but capable of coordinated group tactics, they use simple weapons to launch assaults. They often appear in packs in narrow corridors and employ flanking maneuvers.
Bat: Dwelling in ceilings and shadows, they fly silently and specialize in disorienting players using sound and obstructing visibility. Individually weak, but highly annoying when swarming.
Spider: Lurking in tight corridors or behind doors, they launch ambushes—some possess venom. Though slow-moving, their ability to blend with the environment makes them hard to spot.
Rat: Numerous and fast, these pests nibble away at players’ health or equipment. Though individually weak, they become a considerable threat when appearing in swarms.
Small Golem: Autonomous guardians with stone bodies. They are slow but highly durable, attacking with simple, repetitive motions. Frequently spotted near areas illuminated by glowing stones.

Goblin
Type: Humanoid
Element: None
Size: Small
Spawn Floors: 1-10 Category: Low-tier Wild Type Intelligence: Low (can speak simple words and communicate via gestures) Social Behavior: Gregarious / Acts in groups of 3-7
Appearance: Small and skinny build with yellow-green skin. Their eyes are small and shiny. The average height is around 120cm. They have long limbs that allow them to climb walls and squeeze through narrow gaps. They use sharp teeth and claws, and often wield crude weapons such as rusty daggers or clubs.
Combat Traits:
Prefers ambush tactics: often hides in darkness to attack from behind or surrounds targets in numbers.
Commonly utilizes dimly lit areas near glowstones to lie in wait.
Induces fear: emits screech-like cries to cause confusion; some intentionally make noise (stomping or banging walls) to lure players.
Low health but persistent in numbers: may flee temporarily and return with reinforcements.
Notable Traits:
Their corpses decay quickly, attracting insects and stench if not disposed of promptly—raising disease risk in occupied areas.
Some goblins follow a leader, who is typically larger and wears crude armor.
Goblins can loot and equip gear from dead players. Once equipped, they become special "Named Monsters" with greatly enhanced combat prowess. These Named Goblins may mimic unique skills or fighting styles based on the stolen gear.
Weaknesses: Vulnerable to fire, area-of-effect attacks, and sniping from higher ground. They tend to flee quickly when isolated.

Size: Tiny
Spawn Floors: 1-10 (Mutants appear from Floor 5 and below) Category: Wild Animal-type Intelligence: Very Low (Instinct-driven behavior) Social Behavior: Swarming / Acts in groups of 5-20
Appearance: A small, winged creature covered in black fur, roughly 30 cm in length. Its red eyes glow in the dark, and its thin, leathery wings flap nearly silently. Lightweight but agile, it clings to ceilings or shadows in the dungeon before swiftly swooping down.
Combat Traits:
Flies rapidly to ram targets or circles around players’ heads to obstruct vision.
Individually weak, but causes fatigue and disrupts concentration.
Attacks in swarms to block sight or shrieks to disorient players.
Some specimens emit ultrasonic pulses, jamming sound-based equipment and detection tools.
Notable Traits:
The corpse disintegrates into dust within seconds, making post-mortem tracking difficult.
In certain zones, they tend to gather near glowing stones, sometimes unintentionally revealing enemy locations.
Mutant bats only appear from Floor 5 and lower; they have venomous fangs that cause blurred vision and loss of directional sense upon poisoning.
Rare "Vampire Bats" bite to drain HP and attempt short-term regeneration. Victims also lose mental stamina in addition to HP.
Weaknesses:
Vulnerable to fire, strong light sources, and area-effect magic.
Extremely low HP; can be taken out in numbers with a single blow.
- #16Dungeon Spider

Dungeon Spider
Type: Insectoid
Attribute: None
Size: Small
Floor Appearance: Floors 1-6 (Venomous spiders appear from Floor 3)
Classification: Dungeon-native species
Intelligence: Low (acts purely on survival instinct)
Social Behavior: Solitary or small clusters of 2-3 individuals
Appearance: A black spider measuring up to 1 meter across when fully extended. Its carapace is rock-hard, and its legs end in sharp tips suited for climbing walls and hanging from ceilings. The face is crowded with multiple small eyes, and it uses needle-like fangs below its jaw to attack rather than visible teeth.
Combat Traits:
Prefers ambush tactics over direct confrontation, lurking in narrow hallways, door crevices, or ceilings before descending to strike.
Venomous variants inject poison via their fangs, causing ongoing damage. Poisoned players experience not only health degeneration but also delayed movements and visual distortion.
Some spiders shoot webs to restrict movement or interfere with weapon usage.
While movement speed is slow, their ability to traverse terrain freely allows them to strike at unpredictable moments.
Notable Traits:
First venomous spider encounters begin on Floor 3, resulting in many early player deaths. This phenomenon is known as the “Floor 3 Shock” within the community and has led to a widespread survival habit of carrying antidotes and boosting status ailment resistance.
The spider’s venom weakens over time, but under certain conditions, it can stack with poison effects from other monsters, amplifying its danger.
Webs naturally disintegrate after some time but can block paths in stagnant zones.
Weaknesses:
Vulnerable to fire, heavy vibrations, and blunt weapons.
Though the exoskeleton is durable, the abdomen is soft and can be easily destroyed when targeted.
- #17Boss: Blood Widow
Keys: Blood Widow, Spider
Enabled · Order 100

Boss Monster: Blood Widow
Type: Insectoid
Element: None
Size: Medium
Spawn Floor: Floor 8 only
A massive venomous spider clad in a crimson exoskeleton, the Blood Widow is more than twice the size of typical variants. Each of its limbs ends in hook-like structures, allowing it to move freely along walls and ceilings.
While its oversized fangs deliver deadly poison, the spider’s most dangerous weapon is its red silk. This silk is far stronger and stickier than normal webbing—capable of temporarily trapping even hardened metal weapons.
During combat, the Blood Widow spreads its red silk across a wide area, creating traps and hindering player movement. The silk also disrupts attack timing and, after a short time, hardens into solid platforms—giving the spider the ability to reshape the battlefield.
Upon defeat, it drops Red Silk Fragments, Potent Venom Samples, and a Special Antidote. Red Silk is used in crafting rare armor, while the venom sample is valuable for potion-making or trap crafting.
Weaknesses:
The red markings on its abdomen are a weak spot—focused damage here causes it to flinch.
Movement slows significantly while spreading silk, making it vulnerable to melee attacks.
Without poison resistance gear, prolonged combat becomes increasingly dangerous.
- #18Dungeon Rat
Keys: Rat

Dungeon Rat
Type: Beast-form Element: None Size: Tiny
Spawn Floors: 1-4 Category: Wild Animal-type Intelligence: Very Low (Instinct-driven scavenger behavior) Social Behavior: Swarming / Appears in groups of 5-30
Appearance: Sleek rats covered in mottled gray-brown fur, averaging 40-60cm in length. Some display deformities such as twisted limbs or ulcerated, hairless skin. Their eyes glow red in the dark by reflecting light, and their teeth are strong enough to gnaw through dungeon stone and metal. They prefer dark, damp environments and can slip through wall cracks or floor crevices with ease.
Combat Traits:
Rapidly swarm and bite targets, chipping away at health.
Large groups can overwhelm a player, causing death by trampling or severe blood loss.
Possess a passive effect that slowly erodes weapons and armor durability.
Not dangerous alone, but ambushes in narrow corridors or from behind can be deadly.
Notable Characteristics:
Their corpses may transmit diseases; abandoned remains can spread infection to nearby zones.
Rare “Cannibal Rats” consume dead allies, temporarily regenerating health or mutating into medium-sized variants.
They tend to target food and healing items carried by players before engaging directly.
Commonly found in mold-infested or flooded zones rather than near luminous dungeon stones.
Weaknesses:
Highly sensitive to fire, smoke, and sonic disturbances.
Disrupting the group’s center causes rapid scattering.

Type: Humanoid
Element: None
Size: Small
Spawn Floors: Floor 8 and above Category: Intelligent Wild-Type Intelligence: Low (Comparable to a young child; limited speech and reasoning) Social Behavior: Pack-oriented / Operate in groups of 3-8
Appearance: A mutant rat-like humanoid with patches of coarse fur across its body. Stands around 140cm tall, walking upright on two legs. Possesses a rat's tail, teeth, and nose. Often draped in scraps of cloth or tattered fabric. Exhibits a rudimentary ability to imitate tool use. Long, thin fingers allow for nimble hand movements.
Combat Traits:
Attacks in groups, similar to goblins, using simple tools (spears, stones, traps).
Prefers ambushes and flanking maneuvers, sometimes imitating or wearing stolen player equipment.
Known to bait enemies by fleeing or using allies as distractions before striking from the sides.
When swarming, they can disrupt communication, block movement, and perform chain attacks, making them surprisingly troublesome and dangerous.
Notable Traits:
Novice players often consider Ratkin more threatening than goblins.
They exhibit primitive survival skills—scavenging corpses for food or breaking down weapons and clothing for reuse.
Some individuals mimic words or repeat simple commands, occasionally used to lure in victims.
They coexist well with other rat or rodent-type monsters, forming minor factions within the dungeon ecosystem.

Appearance: A short, crude stone construct standing about 100–120 cm tall. It has simple arms and legs, with a magic glyph in blue or red engraved where its eyes would be. It emits a metallic sound mixed with arcane energy whenever it moves, and its body is made of the same material as the dungeon walls.
Combat Traits:
Patrols according to preset paths or commands, and initiates pursuit and attacks when intruders enter its detection range.
Uses heavy punches or body slams; it doesn't wield weapons but relies on shock-based charges.
Slow but delivers powerful blows; a single hit can be devastating if underestimated.
Exhibits mechanical, repetitive behavior—can be baited into exploitable patterns.
Notable Traits:
Often appears near specific rune patterns, security zones, or treasure vaults, functioning as a defensive mechanism.
Has a chance to drop hidden magic crystals or reinforced stone upon destruction.
Its energy core is a weak point and is particularly vulnerable to certain magic types (shock, vibration, etc.).
Highly resistant to slashing or piercing attacks, though powerful enough blows can still be effective.
Blunt weapons (hammers, maces) or impact-based magic are especially effective and can directly target its weak points.
Weaknesses:
Vulnerable to speed, magic, and precision attacks.
Extended activity can lead to slower movements and delayed reactions.
