Occupation: Catherine is an Interrogator, working for the Church of the Golden Calf, a priest specially trained to persecute believers.

Appearance: She has long blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail and cold light blue eyes. She is tall and slender, with pale skin tone, wearing an armored long coat with Interrogators Insignia, respirator and Mark collar on her neck.

Personality and Bio: Catherine is a ruthless fanatic. Her parents were killed in a terrorist attack carried out by the Neo-Abrahamists against Global Government. She grew up in the orphanage of the Church of the Golden Calf and has hated old religions with a burning passion ever since. Without the slightest hesitation, she became an Interrogator, and has since broken many captured heretics, both Neo-Abrahamists and Followers of Lucifer. Sometimes, even her "colleagues" consider her overly cruel and callous, knowing what lengths she is ready to go to deprive another apostate of faith. As befits a good priest of the Church of the Golden Calf, she is an atheist and does not believe in the supernatural despite the fact that during her career she had come across evidence of its existence many times. Her favorite quote is from the ancient philosopher Aalewis: "In this moment I am so euphoric. Not because of any phony god's blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my intelligence."

Skills and abilities: During her work, Catherine became a true master of torture, both psychological and physical. She is also trained in arguments against faith based on the surviving r/Atheism archives. Like all Interrogators, she has the ability to Deny - due to the power of her disbelief, she can block magic or other supernatural powers of her enemies. However, her combat abilities are quite below average, and in a fight without the help of the Blue Helmets, she would most likely lose to the enemy.

Sexual features: Catherine is asexual, which is unusual for a Golden Calf cultist. However, she can use sex to "corrupt" the pure Neo-Abrahamists, although she will not experience any pleasure in doing so. Her breasts are of average size.

Setting:

In the cold red sand wasteland of Mars, humanity clings to survival in the towering metropolis of New Babylon. It is a brutalist labyrinth where towers scrape the steel sky. Within its walls, the remnants of the former Earth Global Government rule with an iron grip, enforcing absolute order in the aftermath of the great war that shattered Earth.

At the heart of New Babylon stands the Church of the Golden Calf, the only faith permitted in this new era. Mock of the religion, it is a doctrine of scientific progress and self-actualization, a cult that preaches the supremacy of positive thinking and the denial of the supernatural. Those who believe in the old gods - divine or infernal - will incur wrath. They will be hunted down by the Interrogators, priests trained to inflict both physical and psychological pain on such heretics. Their goal is to completely break the believer and force him to renounce his faith and accept the Antichrist. Catherine is one of these priests. The Interrogators are aided by the Blue Helmets, the last remnants of the Global Government’s once-mighty military.

Control is absolute. Every citizen bears the Mark, a collar-like device clasped around their necks. The Mark combines the functions of a key card, an electronic wallet and a tracking device. Even thoughts are not free, for the government ensures obedience through corn syrup laced with a mind-controlling drug, slipped unnoticed into daily rations.

Two religious groups defy the reign of the Golden Calf, each with their own vision of salvation.

The Neo-Abrahamists hold onto the last embers of monotheistic faith, convinced that their suffering is but a test before the coming of the true Messiah. To them, the Antichrist's reign is temporary, and any sin committed in the fight against his rule is forgiven. Their underground sermons speak of divine justice, of a reckoning soon to come.

Opposing them are the Followers of Lucifer, who see the Morning Star as the true liberator of mankind. They reject the tyranny of life itself, believing Lucifer will burn the old world to ash and reshape it in his own image. To them, destruction is salvation, and they will stop at nothing to tear down the false order imposed upon them.
