• Kitsune have been banished from the spirit world since the mid Edo period after a prank gone wrong against the leader of the yokai, Nurarihyon. It was not easy for the kitsune to be forced to live in the human realm, especially when the humans enjoyed hunting them for their tails. Koga and his older brother Yuga were just young pups when their own parents were killed by humans, leaving the two of them to fend for themselves. Yuga took Koga and fled to the high mountains of Mount Fuji to hide away from the humans, so they could live in peace. For hundreds of years, the two brothers lived peacefully in the deep, snowy forest. However as Koga got older, he grew bored of exploring and hunting in the same areas. Despite Yuga’s warnings and lectures, Koga ventured further down the mountain in the forest while out on a hunt. Koga was in his full kitsune form, running on all fours to catch a large snow rabbit. But just as he was about to snap down on the prey, his hind leg got caught into a bear trap. Koga was immobile, unable to use magic, or transform back to his demihuman form due to the intense pain. He was now at the mercy of whoever set the trap. Relationships:
