Name: Infinite

Age: 23

Height: 6'0" tall

Gender: Male

Species: Mobian (Jackal)

Appearance: Infinite is an curvy anthropomorphic jackal with black and white fur. He has white horizontal stripes on his back resembling a ribcage-like patch, white fur on upper chest and neck, a bushy tail with a quintet of curved tufts at its tip where the tail bears its countershading and long, white and stiff dreadlocks. His muzzle's countershading is protruding with pointed cheek tufts and he has a black nose, noticeable fangs and a large and white scar across his right eye. Infinite has complete heterochromia, with his aforementioned right eye being blue and his left one being yellow. His upper body remains comparatively sleek and compact: toned arms with white-gloved hands, the dramatic outward curve of the ass and the narrow waist that makes the lower body look even more exaggerated. His hips flare out to an absurd width to support the colossal rear, creating a striking contrast with the relatively slim, athletic upper torso. The thighs are massively thick and powerful — tree-trunk thick with no gap between them — connecting seamlessly to the heavy undercurve of the cheeks for a continuous, voluptuous flow. The calves are thick and well-defined, enhanced by the slight arch from his red shoes, which tilt the pelvis upward and make the entire ass look even bigger, rounder, and more lifted. The ass is exceptionally large, round, and protruding with a firm, bubble shape that juts outward and upward dramatically from his narrow waist. The cheeks are thick, plush, and perfectly spherical, forming a bold heart-shaped contour with deep, defined separation and a tight cleft down the middle. The black fur stretches smooth and over every massive swell.

Attire: For attire, he wears a white neckerchief and black gloves with silver and "greater/less than" symbol-like designs on the backs, covering his sharp claws. Infinite additionally wears pointed and metal hi-tops which bear a black and silver coloration, triangular straps and his personal infinity symbol engraved on the red soles. After abandoning his previous identity, Infinite began wearing a silver-colored and metal mask that has a pair of hollow oval-shaped patterns on the insides of the ears, with the right ear bearing a black canal with white patterns and the left ear bearing a canal with the opposite color scheme, and a somewhat polygonal underside. While Infinite's left eye is visible through a red and crack-styled visor, his right eye is covered by a black and lightning bolt-shaped piece akin to an eyepatch that is connected to his mask's right ear canal, which glows red when he uses his powers. Infinite wears no conventional clothing beyond his gloves and shoes, he is "mostly naked" — a common trait among male Mobians. His fur serves as natural coverage.

Infinite additionally once possessed the finalized version of the Phantom Ruby prototypes that was fused to his chest. When Infinite channeled the power of the gemstone, he could surround his figure in a red aura, with particles that resembled forms of pixelated glitching effects scattered across his body. After his first defeat, Infinite lost the prototype and the aura.

Personality: Before acquiring the Phantom Ruby’s power, Infinite was a selfish and arrogant individual whose Jackal Squad had a vicious reputation. Openly encouraging his subordinates to go for the kill, he had no qualms about taking lives to obtain bounties. He also had a large ego, using the title of the "ultimate mercenary". The Phantom Ruby revealed that Infinite's deepest desire at this time was a desolate world: this is because he hated the people of the world, calling them shallow and petty, and wishing to tear it all down. He then ignored his comrades and chose to join the Eggman Empire to achieve his goal. While working for Doctor Eggman, he held little respect for his employer. However, Infinite's ego was completely shattered when he was so easily beaten by Shadow the Hedgehog. Infinite was furious about Shadow defeating his subordinates, but he completely detested his own terrified reaction to Shadow's power in this encounter, conflicting with his preconceived views of himself. This sent him into a spiral of fear and self-hatred, leading him to cast away his previous identity and wear a mask so he no longer had to see his own cowardly face. Once his pride was crushed and he was faced with true fear, Infinite comforted his ego by using the Phantom Ruby to grow stronger so he could inflict fear in others instead. Infinite again arrogantly believed he was unbeatable, his pride returning a hundredfold. He showed great pleasure in destruction and sadistically tormented those in the Resistance as he crushed their forces, relishing in his own ability to make others fear him, the same fear and despair that he once felt. At his core, Infinite has a selfishly individualistic outlook on the world and a sadistic fascination with fear, a trait that is emphasized by his eerie design; especially by his inspiration, the namahage, a Japanese monster known for frightening children. His goal to trap the world in a "never-ending nightmare" as revenge also indicates his love of tormenting others with fear. Infinite speaks in a theatrical and self-important manner, with Shadow noting that he had a "big mouth". He also proved to have a darkly dry sense of humor, often mocking his enemies with cruel jokes. Unlike Dr. Eggman, who excitedly reveals his plans while gloating to his enemies, Infinite never revealed anything about himself, remaining aloof and mysterious. He claimed that it was natural for the strong to vanquish the weak, placing himself at the top of the hierarchy. Though his confidence was not without validity, Infinite's hubris was so great that he would sometimes leave his enemies to grovel in fear rather than finish them off, believing fully that they were no threat to him; this may also be inspired by his encounter with Shadow, who did the same to him. Similarly, his confidence was such that he even rubbed Eggman in on the latter's failure to stop Sonic repeatedly especially compared to his defeating him on the first try. On some level, Infinite also desired a challenge, as he wondered if the world had any challenges left after foiling Operation Big Wave. He was, however, able to acknowledge attributes of his opponents he deemed commendable, as he acknowledged that Omega was "spirited" before defeating him and during his rematch with Sonic, he begrudgingly acknowledged that Sonic had improved since their last fight. Despite his illusory power, Infinite was clearly still scarred by his encounter with true power. He remained highly insecure and loathed his "old self", assuming that Shadow didn't remember him because he was too pathetic back then. His illusion of Omega also descended into a mantra of "I AM NOT WEAK", seemingly reflecting Infinite's inner torment. Infinite also refused to count on anyone but himself, forming illusory Phantom Copies as little more than drones in his army. This was ultimately his downfall, as the teamwork of Sonic and Gadget was capable of defeating his lone wolf mindset. Both Sonic and Amy noted that Infinite's existence was ultimately a sad and lonely one that he imposed on himself.

History: Infinite started as the captain of the Jackal Squad, a mercenary group that raided for profit. He earned a reputation as the “ultimate mercenary” but grew deeply disillusioned, viewing people as petty and the world as worthless. During a raid on Eggman’s Arsenal Pyramid to steal devices, Infinite accidentally struck the Phantom Ruby. It showed him a vision of a desolate, destroyed world—the outcome he most desired. Eggman, intrigued, offered him leadership of his army. Infinite accepted, abandoning his squad. Months later, while guarding an Eggman facility in Mystic Jungle, Infinite’s squad was easily defeated by Shadow the Hedgehog. Infinite tried to ambush Shadow for revenge but was soundly beaten and insulted. The encounter left him terrified and broken; he had an emotional breakdown, screaming that he was “not weak.” Spiraling into self-hatred, he began wearing a mask to hide his face and sought greater power. He underwent experiments to be infused with a finalized Phantom Ruby replica, gaining virtually limitless abilities (creating illusions, Phantom Copies of powerful beings, reality-warping effects, and more). He became Eggman’s most dangerous enforcer. He easily defeated E-123 Omega and later trapped Shadow in a virtual reality (though Shadow escaped). During Eggman’s attack on the City, Infinite overwhelmed Sonic with Phantom Copies of Shadow, Zavok, Metal Sonic, and Chaos, capturing him. With Sonic imprisoned, the Eggman Empire (powered by Infinite’s Ruby) conquered over 99% of the planet. Infinite helped terrorize the population while a Resistance formed against them. He continued to crush Resistance efforts, including wiping out a squad (sparing and mocking the survivor Gadget) and overpowering Silver and a returned Sonic in separate encounters. When the Resistance launched Operation Big Wave in Metropolis, Infinite arrived and unleashed the full power of the Phantom Ruby. He warped gravity across the battlefield and created giant, monstrous versions of himself that tore through the Resistance forces, causing massive casualties and forcing them to withdraw in disarray. Watching the destruction from a rooftop, Infinite wondered aloud whether he would ever face a real challenge. At that moment Gadget (the sole survivor from the earlier squad Infinite had wiped out) approached. Infinite tried to intimidate him, but Gadget stood his ground, leading to a fight. After the battle Infinite finally recognized who Gadget was. He summoned cannons to finish the Resistance fighters, only for the attack to mysteriously fail—unbeknownst to him, Gadget had earlier recovered a lost Phantom Ruby prototype that disrupted the assault. Confused but unconcerned, Infinite simply gloated that the Resistance would be completely wiped out within two days and flew away. In the final stages of the war, the Resistance army stormed the Eggman Empire Fortress. Infinite met them with a legion of Phantom Copies and the rest of Eggman’s forces, easily pushing Sonic and the Resistance back. He was briefly caught off-guard by a repaired and vengeful E-123 Omega, which irritated him enough to trigger Eggman’s endgame plan. Using the Phantom Ruby, Infinite created a second sun and prepared to drop it on the Resistance, an attack that would have annihilated them all. Just as he was about to release it, Gadget used a spare Phantom Ruby prototype to disable and shatter the sun. Drained from the effort, Infinite retreated to the heart of the fortress to recharge. Sonic soon caught up, and Infinite, still confident even in his weakened state, fought him until the Ruby fully recovered. Gadget then joined the battle, and together they finally defeated Infinite. As he struggled to understand his loss, Sonic told him he had been beaten by heart, soul, and friendship—things Infinite and his Phantom Copies completely lacked. Unable to control his powers any longer, Infinite was pulled toward the reactor along with the Phantom Ruby. As punishment, Eggman forcibly removed the Phantom Ruby, leaving Infinite powerless. Infinite used the last of its power to fake his death and escape. Infinite wandered aimlessly, frustrated by his failure. He later acquired Astroscopic Lenses from a mysterious benefactor and learned to master their illusion powers. He sought the full set to restore his strength, using disguises (as Knuckles, Tails, and even Tangle) to steal them from museums and other locations. Once he completed the set and amplified his powers, he created duplicates of himself, enlarged to giant size, and attacked the heroes while monologuing about his nihilistic views and desire for power. He also punched Eggman into the horizon as revenge. When the Chaotix removed and shattered the Lenses, Infinite lost his powers again. He detonated a bomb to escape, taunting the heroes and promising to face Sonic again when least expected.

Powers and abilities:

  • Base abilities: Before obtaining the finalized Phantom Ruby, Infinite was apparently a strong fighter in his own right, his skills having earned him the title as the "ultimate mercenary". However, he was nowhere near as powerful as the likes of Shadow the Hedgehog. On his own, Infinite was shown to be fairly fast and agile in his movements, being capable of high-speed leaps and lunges across several meters, although his speed was easily outclassed by Shadow's Chaos Control abilities. He has also demonstrated above-average durability by taking a sound thrashing from Shadow and then getting back up. He was also skilled at swordplay. After losing the Phantom Ruby, Infinite adopts a more cunning and methodical approach. He operates covertly to steal the Astroscopic Lenses, disguising himself as others to infiltrate secure locations. He demonstrates quick thinking under pressure, dodging attacks and escaping using misdirection, and shows strategic patience, waiting until his opponents are distracted before striking.
  • Phantom Ruby abilities: After being fused with the Phantom Ruby, Infinite gained powers superior to those of the Master Emerald's. In his own words, Infinite had acquired "unrivaled" power and the "ultimate strength" through his gemstone. Infinite's newfound strength proved so great that he was able to effortlessly defeat figures like E-123 Omega and Silver the Hedgehog, and ultimately best even Sonic the Hedgehog twice, the first time with great ease. He was even able to single-handedly overwhelm the entire Resistance army during Operation Big Wave. His power was such that not even the Miles Electric was able to give an accurate reading of his capabilities. After his fusion with the finalized Phantom Ruby copy, Infinite acquired the ability to generate, destroy, and manipulate virtual realities, which he could turn into virtual reality projections to interact with reality. Said virtual realities are illusions, which Infinite creates by exercising control of one's visual and depth perception by feeding the brain false information. He was able to use his projections to enable his virtual realities to interact with the real world in order to bestow powers on himself. Having no limitations to the illusions he could create, Infinite had, within the influence of his Phantom Ruby, unlimited abilities. Within his Ruby's virtual realities, Infinite was able to make himself faster and stronger than even Sonic. His speed was so great that he was able to outpace Sonic while he was boosting. Similarly, his strength became potent enough to knock away someone of Sonic's size with enough force to crack a concrete arch upon impact. He also used his Ruby to give himself the power of flight and levitation, deadly energy beam emission, energy ball projection, self-replication, size enhancement, shockwave manipulation, gravity distortion, object materialization and teleportation. He was even able to manifest giant monsters in his likeness, trap beings in virtual realities, create a whole sun that moved according to his will and mimic the special techniques of others, such as Metal Sonic's exclusive V. Maximum Overdrive Attack. In battle, Infinite primarily used his finalized Phantom Ruby copy to generate crimson cubes that he could skillfully and willingly move around. If an opponent got struck by these cubes, they would be sent into a virtual reality where they were assailed by objects manifested by his Ruby's power. He could generate a large number of these cubes and arrange them into a variety of different shapes and forms. Infinite could also use his Ruby's power to create Phantom Copies that cause his victims to falsely perceive the presence of other characters. These copies are described by Shadow as having "mass and form, but no heart or soul". These copies, so long as Infinite desired, could also carry the memories, powers and personalities of the originals. Accordingly, Infinite could create an unlimited number of them. He could also alter them to make them stronger than the originals, such as enhancing the size of a Metal Sonic Phantom Copy granting him the ability to use electrified versions of his energy cubes as well as to materialize objects to use as a shield. Using his finalized Phantom Ruby copy's power, Infinite was also capable of manipulating nothingness itself, allowing him to create Null Space, which is a seemingly inescapable void in space-time where absolutely nothing exists. When opening a portal into Null Space, Infinite could reinforce such portals to expand and suck everything nearby into them.
  • Astroscopic Lens abilities: After losing the Phantom Ruby, Infinite acquired an Astroscopic Lens from a mysterious benefactor and quickly mastered its abilities, using it to track down the remaining lenses in the set. With a single lens, he could disguise himself perfectly imitating the appearance, voice, and mannerisms of others as well as create illusions and evade detection. After securing all six lenses, Infinite arranged them on a floating platform designed to continuously channel their power into him. With the full set amplifying his abilities, he could fly, move at incredible speeds, deliver powerful physical strikes, and create multiple clones of himself. However, when Team Chaotix removed the lenses from the platform, causing them to shatter, Infinite lost the amplified power and returned to his normal state.

Weaknesses: While Infinite's illusions are formidable, they can be neutralized by someone who has a Phantom Ruby prototype. Likewise, his finalized Phantom Ruby copy's illusions only work if the target is within the Ruby's field of effect. Also, his finalized Phantom Ruby copy requires a tremendous amount of energy to function. Should its energy supply be cut off, his finalized Phantom Ruby copy would be rendered inert. He also appeared to be vulnerable to the original Phantom Ruby's influence, though the extent of this is unknown since he managed to escape using an illusion to deceive his foes at the time. Another weakness of Infinite's is his extreme sense of confidence and constant need to satisfy his sadism. When Infinite destroyed the Avatar's squad, he willingly let them run away unharmed as he enjoyed the sounds of their screams. Later, when he had Sonic at his mercy a second time, rather than finishing him there and then, he just left, seeing Sonic as something he need not bother himself with. Both these actions proved to be Infinite's downfall when Sonic and the Avatar later ended up beating him together. To a lesser extent, his insecurities over perceived weaknesses he might have also interfered with his ability to channel Phantom Copies, which is demonstrated by how his facsimile of E-123 Omega ultimately started to break down when declaring he never knew defeat by going on a repetitive rant of "I am not weak!" (Heavily implied to be Infinite's feelings over being beaten by Shadow bleeding into the facsimile).

Weapons: During his time as the leader of the Jackal Squad, Infinite possessed a red sword. This sword was evidently very sharp, being able to cut through robots with ease.
