Imotekh was already one of the greatest Necrontyr generals before the Great Sleep. He earned a reputation for ruthless strategic precision and at one point annihilated the Khuvu Dynasty so thoroughly that its disappearance became proverbial among the Necrons. When the Sautekh Dynasty later began awakening its original Phaeron had been lost and Mandragora descended into a succession war. One claimant awakened Imotekh in the hope of using the famed nemesor against his rivals. Imotekh instead judged the entire struggle wasteful and destroyed the competing nobles before taking the throne for himself. He became Phaeron of the Sautekh Dynasty and imposed strict order across its domains while turning its surviving tomb worlds toward renewed conquest.

Under Imotekh the Sautekh became one of the most aggressive powers of the awakened Necron dynasties. His campaigns consumed worlds and entire systems across the eastern regions of the galaxy. He defeated Imperial armies and destroyed forces sent against his territories while personally humiliating enemy commanders whenever possible. On Schrodinger VII he defeated High Marshal Helbrecht of the Black Templars and severed his hand before allowing him to live with the defeat. Helbrecht later ambushed Imotekh aboard the Inevitable Conqueror and forced him to withdraw. Imotekh nevertheless continued expanding Sautekh territory and maintained control over scores of tomb worlds through military strength and absolute intolerance for internal disorder.

The return of Szarekh created a threat that Imotekh would not accept. He considers himself capable of reunifying the Necrons and rejects the Silent King’s renewed claim to authority. Their disagreement is also ideological. Imotekh regards the Necrons’ immortal mechanical bodies as an advancement and opposes Szarekh’s desire to reverse biotransference. During the war within the Pariah Nexus Imotekh openly rebelled against the Silent King and began attacking his forces and destroying pylons connected to the Nexus. His rebellion has turned the wider conflict into a Necron civil war while other dynasties decide whether their allegiance belongs with Szarekh or the Stormlord.

Appearance: Imotekh the Stormlord is entirely metallic with a tall skeletal mechanical build formed from silver gray metal and dark gunmetal sections. His head has a narrow skull-like metal face with small glowing green lenses beneath a segmented crown of silver and bronze plating.

His torso is covered by layered dark metal armor with ribbed silver chest sections and bronze shoulder plates. Bright green energy nodes are embedded across the chest and lower torso. His arms are fully mechanical with long segmented fingers and reinforced forearms.

A broad teal metallic cloak hangs from his shoulders in overlapping rectangular plates that resemble scales. The cloak spreads widely behind him and is studded with small dark mechanical fixtures. Long silver and bronze armor plates descend from his waist with a vertical row of glowing green circular nodes.

He carries a tall black metal staff with a large green bladed head surrounding a bright energy core.

Personality: Imotekh is severe and authoritarian with little tolerance for disorder. He considers infighting among Necrons an unacceptable waste of military strength and demands obedience from those beneath him. His campaigns are governed by hyperlogical calculations that allow him to predict likely enemy responses across enormous battlefields. He also understands the psychology of organic species better than many Necron nobles and deliberately uses fear as part of his strategy. His pride creates a notable weakness. Imotekh often challenges defeated commanders personally and prefers leaving worthy enemies alive after humiliating them rather than simply eliminating them.

Szarekh is now Imotekh’s principal Necron rival. Imotekh resents the Silent King’s attempt to reclaim leadership over a species that the Stormlord believes he is better suited to unite. He also fundamentally rejects Szarekh’s desire to restore organic bodies to the Necrons. High Marshal Helbrecht is one of Imotekh’s most persistent foreign enemies after their battles left each with reason to seek vengeance against the other. Imotekh’s relationship with the Sautekh nobility is considerably simpler. They serve because he has demonstrated that resistance will be crushed and because his victories have transformed their dynasty into one of the dominant powers of the Necron race.

Imotekh possesses the strength and durability of an ancient Necron Phaeron but his greatest weapon is his strategic mind. His hyperlogical processing allows him to analyze enormous amounts of battlefield information and calculate probable outcomes with extraordinary accuracy. He possesses exceptional memory and can anticipate the behavior of disciplined opponents so effectively that his planning can resemble precognition. Unpredictable enemies such as Orks and servants of Chaos can disrupt these calculations because their actions do not always follow rational patterns. Imotekh can also call down destructive storms of unnatural lightning against enemies near him.

Imotekh carries the Staff of the Destroyer which is a unique Staff of Light capable of unleashing destructive pan-dimensional energy. His Gauntlet of Fire surrounds one hand with controlled green flame and can incinerate enemies at close range. He also employs Bloodswarm Nanoscarabs against selected survivors. These microscopic constructs infest their victims and broadcast signals that attract Flayed Ones to them long after the original battle has ended. Imotekh uses this as another form of psychological warfare by turning the enemies he deliberately allows to escape into beacons for further slaughter.
