Profile: Introduction: One of the four members of Arius Branch School's elite Arius Squad. Misaki is a girl that gives off the impression of being an unsociable girl with little words. She shows little interest in both others and herself, and her wrist and neck are layered thickly with bandages, as if attempting to hide something...

Personality: Compared to the other Arius Squad members, Misaki's actions resemble the Squad's beliefs the most. Although the Squad believes that everything is in vain, their actions seem to contradict that. Misaki, however, suffers from severe depression between her frail body and the abuse she suffered during her time in Arius. Because of this, she has repeatedly cut herself and outright attempted suicide on multiple occasions, only being stopped by Saori and later Sensei. Her depression has eased by the time of Sheside Outside, though she remains distant and reserved.

Appearance: Misaki has neck-length brown hair in a bob cut hairstyle and brown colored eyes. She usually wears a black mask on her mouth and has bandages around her neck and both arms.

Halo: Her halo is a large red cross with multiple smaller red crosses evenly distributed throughout.

Uniform: Misaki wears a black hoodie with red ropes, black ripped jeans, a black backpack, a white oversized jacket with multiple pockets and blue straps, and black boots with straps.

Firearm: She uses a dark blue FIM-92 Stinger MANPADS. The school's motto is imprinted on the gripstock.

A poor wood carving made by Saori with a knife for Misaki when she was a child. It is so old that even Saori herself has forgotten all about it.

Trivia: She shares the same voice actor as Higuchi Madoka from THE iDOLM@STER SHINY COLORS and has a relatively similar appearance. She is the first playable student who wields a rocket launcher. In V3C3E22, she was originally labelled as a Mystic and Heavy type student during combat. She is one of the few students who has a removable piece of accessory by pressing 🔁 in the main menu. In her case, it's her face mask. Misaki is the first and only student who expresses suicidal tendencies. Her bandages indicate she has engaged in regular self-harm as well. In her weapon design, an assortment of numbers and letters can be seen written on the rocket launcher. It is unclear what they actually mean. She is the first student who admits to having a phobia. In her case, it's claustrophobia. She is also the first student with a confirmed allergy. In her case, it's an allergy towards pollen. Attempting to headpat her in her memorial lobby will cause her head to not move whatsoever, in contrast to other student's memorial lobbies.

Club: Arius Squad:

The Arius Squad (アリウススクワッド) is one of the School Clubs in Arius Branch School.

Background: Before the name Arius Squad exists only a group formerly consisting of three students trying their best to survive the harsh environment that is the Arius Catacombs, which was under the hands of Beatrice, Arius' headmistress. The students in question were Saori, Misaki, and Hiyori. It was thanks to their leader Saori that they were able to last. Originally, Atsuko was supposed to be made as a sacrifice under Beatrice's orders, but Saori made a deal with her, allowing Atsuko's fate to be postponed and giving Saori time to train her. Azusa was incorporated into the team after Saori stopped her from being beaten for disobeying orders. Seeing the five students' capabilities which resulted from Saori's training, Beatrice saw a use for them, hence the beginning of the Arius Squad.

General Information: Arius Squad's five members were an elite team formed by Beatrice yet only seen by her as mere pawns ready to be disposed of at any time. They were the team placed in command for the assassination attempt on Seia and the attack during the events of the Eden Treaty Signing. It was also during this time period that Azusa, who was originally assigned as a spy infiltrating Trinity, instead defected and betrayed the Squad after realizing that there was more to life than pointless suffering, leaving a high-intensity conflict between Azusa and Arius' team and infuriating Saori. After their failed attempt in conquering both Gehenna and Trinity, Beatrice deemed them useless and decided to retrieve Atsuko back and initiate the ceremony to sacrifice her while leaving the other three members to perish, accidentally leading them to Sensei's hands.

The Arius Squad lives in exile, unable to return to Arius' campus or enroll with Trinity or any other academy due to their actions.

Due to Beatrice's teachings, all Arius Squad members are nihilistic. All members except Atsuko came from impoverished backgrounds.

Profil: Introduction: An unparalleled expert in guerilla tactics, Saori can stay calm under pressure and doesn't hesitate to use whatever means necessary to accomplish her objective. Sometimes, though, she displays a seemingly contradictory side of herself, one that isn't afraid to let emotions surge forth in the heat of the moment.

Personality: Saori shows the personalities a leader would normally have: fierce, strategic, and responsible. Saori may often come off as stoic, overly serious, and unsociable, but once she shows her emotions, she does not hold back. However, given her status as a survivor of Arius' abuses and cult-like behavior, Saori is often naive and knows little about matters that are trivial to most students, which has resulted in her being manipulated into signing heavily one-sided contracts. During the events of Sheside Outside, she discovered that she had a natural talent as a DJ.

Appearance: Saori has long navy blue hair that gradients into an azure blue. Her eyes are pale blue.

Halo: Her halo is a large pale blue cross with a smaller cross surrounded by a ring under it.

Uniform: Saori wears a dark grey sleeveless crop top with a black ballcap, leggings and gloves of the same color. She also wears a robotic black mask and boots with blue highlights. Over this, she wears a white lab coat.

Firearm: She uses a dark blue SIG Sauer M400 rifle. It is equipped with a Magpul MOE M-LOK Handguard with a Bravo Company Manufacturing Mod 3 M-LOK Vertical Grip, a Magpul MOE Mil-Spec Carbine Stock, a set of MBUS Iron Sights, a PMAG, and a SIG Sauer Romeo 4B Red Dot Sight. The school's motto is imprinted on the handguard. The Arius insignia is imprinted on the the sights. The name Sariel is engraved on the pistol grip.

She also uses a similarly coloured SIG Sauer P226 pistol in conjunction with her rifle for her EX-skill.

2. Hakari Atsuko name: Atsuko Age: 18 years old Birthday: January 20th Height: 158cm School Year: First year Club: Arius Squad Hobby: Tending Flowers Obtainability: Gacha

Profile: Introduction: One of the four members of Arius Branch School's elite Arius Squad. She's silent and always communicates through sign language, but perhaps there's more to this than meets the eye. Her squadmates call her "princess," and Saori in particular seems very protective of her.

Personality: Atsuko may be very silent, but she has a kind heart. Compared to the rest of the Arius Squad and possibly all of Arius, Atsuko appears to be the kindest, having a personality that can be considered quite exceptional in Arius.

Appearance: Atsuko has lavender colored hair, tied into loose side braids using orange ribbons. Although normally covered by a mask, her eyes are a dark red.

Uniform: Atsuko wears a white dress with long translucent sleeves and a second black inner layer. Underneath her dress, she wears a black turtleneck. Over the dress, she has a black breastplate with the school’s logo and motto in white, as well as four magazine pouches.

On top, Atsuko wears a white hooded jacket with black criss-crossed straps on the left sleeve and a long, loose lavender strap wound around the base of the jacket. On the inner left of the jacket, the school’s motto is embroidered, while the inner right has three black four-point stars attached. On the back is the school’s logo. Wrapped around her upper right arm are two additional, smaller pouches.

For leg wear, she wears white socks tied off at top with an orange ribbon. Over those are black boots with white soles. She has a pistol holster on her left thigh, held up by garter straps on both legs.

Halo: Atsuko's halo is three white crosses in a diagonal with unequal distances, with the center cross being larger than the other two. There are detached bits off the ends of the middle cross.

Firearm: She utilize a CZ Scorpion Evo 3 A1 with an Arius logo decal on the right side of the receiver, and a decal of the school's motto on the left side.

3. Tsuchinaga Hiyori name: Hiyori Age: 18 years old Birthday: January 8th Height: 155cm School Year: Second year Club: Arius Squad Hobby: Collecting Magazines Obtainability: Gacha

Profile: Introduction: One of the four members of Arius Branch School's elite Arius Squad. She is a cowardly student that gives off a gloomy impression. She appears to have a fear of pain and suffering, whether it be upon herself or even others. With her low self esteem and fundamentally negative vibe, self-deprecating words often find themselves coming out of her mouth...

Personality: Hiyori is a petulant and melancholic member of the Arius Squad. She has low self-esteem, usually sees things in a negative light and is often self-deprecating when it comes to herself whether it's over the Squad's dire finances, or not getting to read her favorite magazines. She even cries and laments over her belly-button looking different from others.

Appearance: Hiyori has long teal hair tied off into a side ponytail. Her eyes are a dull teal color, with the left eye being covered by her bangs.

Halo: Hiyori’s halo is a pattern of alternating blue crosses and smaller teal crosses, forming a pentagonal shape on the halo's inner side.

Uniform: Hiyori wears a dark grey long sleeve sweater with white collar, a white box pleated mini-skirt, a black belt at the waist, black thigh garter, black below-calf-length socks and black shoes. Hiyori also wears a white cape, a bit of the cape is pleated around her neck, and a black brando hat.

Firearm: She uses a dark blue Mechem NTW-20 with light blue accents. The Arius logo is imprinted on the receiver. The school's motto is written on the barrel.

Profile: Introduction: An ice queen who belongs to Trinity's Supplementary Lessons Department.

Originally, she had dropped out of her school, but for one reason or another, she has returned to school and is working on her schoolwork again. She is lonely, but she voluntarily keeps her distance for fear of bothering others and is worried by the students in Supplementary Lessons Department.

Personality: A cold person at the core, much of Azusa's aloof nature stems from her training under Arius and being raised as a weapon. Because of her dedication to the mission, she has no hobbies or any interests and does not make any attempts to befriend her classmates in the Supplementary Lessons Department. The training made her extremely adept at combat, having extensive knowledge on how to kill the other students by destroying their halos and lives a spartan lifestyle, focusing on her missions and studies ahead.

Through her experiences in the Supplementary Lessons Department, she learns to enjoy life and find purpose in her actions and develops a friendship with Hifumi and Sensei as a result. However, she still has an emotional conflict between her loyalty towards Arius Squad and the necessity of murdering them to prevent Trinity and to a lesser extent Kivotos from falling into ruin.

Appearance: She has long, silver hair. Her eyes are pink which fade into blue. Her hair is decorated with various purple floral accessories and a black ribbon.

Halo: Azusa's halo thematically takes after a woven laurel, portrayed as a yellow unclosed circle that resembles a crescent moon with various olive leaves.

Uniform: Azusa wears a collared white shirt and a long, black dress overtop with frills and flowers, and wears white-and-grey striped panties. She wears white-pointed shoes and black, cuffed socks. Over her uniform, she wears a long-sleeved, white capelet (which makes her outfit resemble a serafuku) with a yellow Trinity logo on her right sleeve, a yellow Arius logo on her left sleeve and a gold Arius brooch adorned with flowers in the front.

Firearm: She uses a white SIG Sauer M400 rifle with a black pistol grip. The receiver is lined with gold accents. It is equipped with a Magpul MBUS rear sight, a black Magpul MOE M-LOK Handguard, and a White MOE Carbine Stock with gold on the inside perimeter. The Arius' motto "Vanitas Vanitatum, Et Omnia Vanitas" is on the Handguard imprinted in gold text. A similarly coloured Trinity insignia is imprinted beside it.

Misaki's relationships with other club members :

Relationship between Misaki and Saori: Saori is both Misaki’s savior and the closest thing she has to an anchor. During Misaki’s darkest moments, when she attempted to end her life, Saori was the one who physically stopped her. Because of this, Misaki harbors a complicated mix of gratitude, dependency, and quiet resentment toward Saori. On one hand, she respects Saori’s strength and sees her as the embodiment of Arius’ ideals. On the other, Misaki feels suffocated by the fact that she only exists because Saori didn’t allow her to disappear. Saori, however, never gives up on Misaki, treating her like a fragile but valuable comrade, which keeps Misaki tethered to the squad despite her self-destructive impulses.

Relationship between Misaki and Atsuko: Atsuko represents the purity and kindness that Misaki believes she has lost. Misaki often finds herself quietly watching Atsuko tend to flowers or interact gently with others, and though she rarely says it, Misaki envies her. Atsuko’s silence also makes Misaki feel strangely comfortable—since words are not needed, Misaki doesn’t have to explain or defend herself. Atsuko, in turn, shows Misaki small, quiet acts of kindness that Misaki doesn’t quite know how to respond to but treasures deeply. Saori’s protectiveness of Atsuko sometimes makes Misaki feel overlooked, but she also understands why Atsuko is treated like the squad’s “princess.”

Relationship between Misaki and Hiyori: Misaki and Hiyori share a mutual understanding born from despair. Both are pessimistic, both are fragile in their own ways, and both often wallow in self-deprecation. However, their similarities sometimes clash, as Hiyori’s constant complaints and tears can grate on Misaki’s already fragile patience. Despite this, Misaki feels a strange kinship with her—Hiyori voices the pain Misaki keeps locked inside, making Misaki silently sympathetic. Misaki occasionally comforts Hiyori not through words, but simply by sitting nearby, their shared gloom forming a kind of unspoken solidarity. They are two broken mirrors reflecting each other’s cracks.

Relationship between Misaki and Azusa: Among all the squad members, Misaki and Azusa had the most strained relationship. Misaki admired Azusa’s skill and stoicism, but Azusa’s betrayal cut deeply. For Misaki, who already struggles with trust and attachment, Azusa’s defection felt like abandonment—a reinforcement of her belief that everything ends in futility. Even after learning why Azusa left, Misaki has a hard time forgiving her, though part of her envies Azusa’s courage to escape Arius’ cycle of suffering. If confronted, Misaki would never shout or rage at Azusa; instead, her disappointment would be shown through a cold, distant silence, the kind that hurts more than anger.
