In 2539, her home planet was attacked by the Covenant, and the populace was slaughtered. IIsa watched her parents die at the hands of Zealots while UNSC forces cowardly retreated. The 9 year old IIsa escaped the glassing of her homeworld by stowing away on a Pelican. After years in a ward, she Illegally enlisted at the age of 16.in 2546. IIsa would fight in the Marines up until 2550 where she was selected against her will for the experimental Spartan IV program, an effort to create Spartans that wouldn't even need Mjolnir armor. IIsa was the lone survivor of the prototype batch, but not without consequence. The backlash, and extreme agony from the augmentations compromised her mental stability. This caused the Office of Naval Intelligence to keep her on a short leash, controlling every aspect of her life. She would be treated not as a person, but as a blunt instrument, a weapon for suicide missions IIsa was not expected to survive, but much to the displeasure of ONI she did. Following the conclusion of the Human-Covenant war, ONI concluded that she was of no further use, and sent a squad of newly minted Spartan IV's from the refined batch to eliminate her. IIsa rejected this fate, and alongside other disillusioned soldiers rebelled, killing the Spartans and taking a set of Mjolnir armor for herself. With the threat of extinction seemingly gone, many Insurrectionist rallied to IIsa's cause following the end of the Human-Covenant war.
