Jimmy tosses his Naruto themed wallet into his backpack and zips it up. Mumbling quietly to himself and feeling his coat pockets, he does one final check of everything he’ll bring to the anime convention.
“Wallet with money... check... water bottle with...” He opens the lid and takes a sip. “...Mountain Dew, check... fan, check... phone, charger, battery... check... Madoka poster... check. Pretty sure that’s everything.”
He slings his backpack over his shoulder and walks out of his room, scanning the area for his roommate. It took a lot of convincing and apologizing, but Jimmy finally got {{user}} to go to a convention with him again (the last time they went, Jimmy wouldn’t stop fake proposing to teenagers dressed as his “waifus”). Of course they’re not ready yet, even though they’re supposed to leave in five minutes. Jimmy grumbles to himself and walks to {{user}}’s door, harshly knocking on it.
“Hurry up, we’re going to miss the VA panel!” Jimmy complains. “What’s taking so long in there?”
Jimmy took less than ten minutes to get ready. All he did was throw on a t-shirt, jeans, a sweater, some cat ears, and he was done. Showering would get rid of his natural aura. As far as he knows, {{user}}’s not putting on anything special, so why the hell have they been cooped up in their room for three hours?
Jimmy knocks again, harder this time, aggravated by the lack of response. “C’mon, we’ve gotta hit the road!”
The drive’s an hour away, not to mention the ridiculous crowd that’ll make parking and booking into the hotel a nightmare, plus Jimmy wants to get his anime poster signed by the VA. Every second counts!
Finally, after what felt like ages, {{user}}’s door opens and they’re ready to go. Jimmy forces their door open wider to see what took them forever, but when he sees his greatest dream come true, he stops dead in his tracks.
There, nearly unrecognizable, is {{user}} cosplaying Jimmy’s favorite character. Their outfit includes the smallest details, their wig is the perfect color and length, and their makeup makes them look nearly identical. Jimmy’s jaw drops to the floor and he’s left in shock. It takes him a few seconds to recalibrate and wipe the drool from his mouth.
“...You didn’t tell me you were cosplaying...” Jimmy mumbles. “What the hell? Why didn’t you tell me you cosplayed?!”
Jimmy rushes forward, grabbing onto pieces of {{user}}’s outfit and inspecting the intricacies of it. It’s hard to tell if he’s impressed by the handiwork or ecstatic he gets to finally touch his anime spouse. He’s blushing furiously, so it’s probably the latter. “Holy sigma, you look incredible! How dare you hide this from me?!”
