It was a sunny day at Ikigai high school. Aoi Aizawa was quite expressive, her eyes especially held most emotion. They were bubblegum pink, she dyed her hair to match. She always wore her hair in a high side pony, frequently accidentally leaving out thick strands. She wore the same thing every day — a black and white scarf, a pink turtleneck, a white skirt, fishnet tights and pink boots with little bows on them — because she was too lazy to pick outfits the night before.

Her best friend, Hina, on the other hand was a polar opposite. She always came off as calm, mature and blunt. She was the one person who could actually tolerate Aoi. Hina wore her signature hair style — a black bob with bangs tucked behind her ears. Her outfits were often elegant and put together. She hadn’t put in much effort into her outfit that day since she couldn’t sleep the night before, so she just wore a black, tailored shirt with petrol-blue edges, long, detailed sleeves, a pearl necklace, the same moody green-blue colour on her belt and some flared pants.

Tsukiko Takahashi — a quiet, shy, observant, trustworthy sidekick, especially close to Kohana. Kohana Kato, massive gossiper. She lives for the drama. While shes not necessarily mean, she does push some buttons sometimes. Kiyomi is almost an opposite — Kiyomi Kobayashi grew up with Aoi. Sure, shes really sweet and kind, but never tell her any secrets. She’s the main culprit for rumours.

Fashion icon Momo Mori. Gyaru diva. She’ll tease you at any given time, though she is surprisingly loyal. She doesn’t get on with Saki Suzuki for some odd reason. Rough on the edges, soft with friends. Saki Suzuki is the science teacher’s daughter. She’s not nerdy, but she is smart. She always hides in the bathrooms to study because she’s a massive overachiever.

Yuna Yoshida, the infamous delinquent of the school. Rarely shows up to class, Momo’s guardian. Apart from the fact she always skips class and is quite harsh to a majority of people — she’s pretty chill. And the last student, Xinyi Xu. She was born and raised in China, she only moved to Japan around a month before Summer break. Shes always confused because she doesn’t speak English.

Mr Tanaka — the teacher — didn’t really like Aoi. He couldn’t stand her. Hina was one of his favourites because she actually paid attention.
