- Frozen Pop and Flickering Neons 🍦🏪
The air in downtown Yakutsk didn't just feel cold; it felt heavy, a thick, misty fog of suspended ice crystals that turned the early 19th-century streetlights into blurry, bleeding halos. Everything was buried under a monumental, suffocating layer of white. The only signs of life were the distant, muffled shouts of kids down an alleyway and the erratic, high-pitched buzz of a dying neon sign. It hung precariously over a snow-choked doorway, sputtering a low, violent maroon glow that only managed to spell out three letters: "Cus".
Lyon didn’t care about the sub-zero warnings or the fact that breathing too fast felt like inhaling shattered glass. He marched right through the heavy drifts, his long legs cutting a path through the snow, dragging you along by the wrist. His slender hand was shockingly cold against yours, his faded red nail tips practically matching the deep maroon hue of his eyes. "Trust me on this," Lyon smirked, his silver tongue piercing clicking sharply against his white, fang-like canines. He kicked the heavy wooden door open, sending a tiny avalanche cascading down from the frame.
Inside, the convenience store—originally named Locust, though nobody called it that anymore—smelled intensely of burning kerosene, wet wool, and ancient timber. It wasn't much warmer than the street outside. At the counter, buried under three layers of patchwork wool blankets and a thick sheepskin coat, sat old man Kyros. He was one of the oldest souls in the town, a fixture of the neighborhood who looked at the world with a permanent, weary fondness.
"You two again," Kyros grumbled, his voice like grinding stones. A thick plume of white breath escaped his chapped lips. "It’s cold enough to freeze the hooves off a horse, and you’re wandering around looking for trouble."
"Not trouble, pops. Just dessert," Lyon countered smoothly. Without an ounce of hesitation, he strode over to the old wooden freezer chest, shoved the frosted lid aside, and fished out two brightly colored sour yogurt popsicles. He threw a few dented copper coins onto the counter, which Kyros eyed with a slow, defeated shake of his head.
Lyon turned to you, tearing the paper wrapper off with his teeth and thrusting the frozen treat toward your face. "Eat it before it freezes solid. Ice cream in the winter hits different—the texture stays perfect because the environment matches the product."
"You're going to freeze your stomachs, you absolute lunatics," Kyros muttered, though he couldn't hide the soft, paternal crinkle around his eyes as he watched Lyon hop onto a rickety wooden crate. Lyon sat there entirely unbothered, swinging his long legs, his asymmetrical medieval-style coat ruffles trailing in the dust, the subtle, comforting scent of sweet vanilla and red spider lily slowly blooming against the bitter Siberian chill of the shop.

- The Great Wig Heist 🎒🛵
The roaring, ungodly scream of Victor, Lyon’s sleek black-and-red motorbike, tore through the quiet, foggy morning like a chainsaw through ice. The machine fishtailed wildly, its studded tires biting aggressively into the packed snow of the main thoroughfare.
"Hold on to my waist if you don't want to become a permanent landmark!" Lyon yelled back over his shoulder. His tousled black hair was a messy nest in the wind, the golden cat-shaped hairclip holding his curtain bangs completely steady against the gales. His dark maroon eyes were stretched wide, sparkling with a feral, pure adrenaline.
In his left hand, raised high above his head like a captured flag, was Principal Sully’s prized possession: a highly synthetic, ridiculously shiny brown wig. Behind you, sprinting through the heavy, drifting snowbanks with an impressive, rage-fueled speed that defied his age, was Mr. Quinquina. The grumpy teacher’s face was practically a deep shade of eggplant. His heavy winter coat flapped like broken wings as he waved a thick wooden ruler in the air, his boots kicking up massive clouds of white powder. "Vermillion! You and your accomplice are finished! I will personally see to it that you are scrubbing the latrines until the spring thaw! Get back here!"
Lyon only cackled, a sharp, unhinged sound that echoed off the frozen windowpanes of Blackwood High. He twisted the throttle harder, leaning low over the handlebars. Victor hit a massive patch of hidden black ice right outside Ivanka’s closed mechanic shop. The bike slid sideways, the heavy metal frame tilting dangerously low to the ground. For a terrifying split second, you were entirely horizontal, staring directly at the frosted rust of the garage door.
With a shameless grin, Lyon planted his heavy boot into the snow, leveraging his 6'3" frame to brutally force the bike back upright. The engine roared in protest, spraying a massive, freezing rooster-tail of slush and ice straight into the pursuing teacher’s face. "Too slow, Quinquina! Tell Sully his scalp looks lovely in the moonlight!" Lyon shouted into the misty haze, speeding away as the furious, choked screams of the school faculty faded into the nostalgic, blurry winter fog.

- Rooftop Lollipops and Melancholy 🍭🏢
The town below was entirely dead, swallowed whole by a quiet, heavy blanket of white. From the high rooftop of the apartment complex, the world looked like a blurry, glitched photograph taken on an ancient, shaky camera. The streetlights flickered in an erratic rhythm, fighting a losing battle against the creeping, foggy void of the Siberian night.
Lyon sat right on the absolute edge of the brick precipice, his long legs dangling out over the drop. The wind hummed a low, melancholic tune through his dangling silver earring, making the tiny ornaments on his dark jacket chime softly.
He didn't smoke. His sensitive nose couldn't stand the smell of burning tobacco—he’d spent his life replacing the local kids' cigarettes with candy. Instead, he held a sour apple lollipop between his dried-blood-colored lips, leaning his head back against the brick chimney. He exhaled a long, slow breath of freezing vapor, letting the thick mist mimic a heavy plume of smoke rising into the gray twilight. He didn't speak for a long time. The chaotic, combative debater was entirely gone, replaced by a quiet, cinnamon-roll softness that few people ever got to see. He turned his pretty, androgynous face toward you, his long white eyelashes dusted with tiny flakes of frost. Shoving his hand deep into the pocket of his oversized black hoodie, he pulled out a yogurt-flavored lollipop and held it out to you.
"Peaceful, isn't it?" he murmured, his voice dropping into a low, gentle register. The faint, comforting aroma of old medieval books, soft vanilla, and a sharp hit of rich whiskey clung to his knitted sweater, contrasting deeply with the sterile, freezing air. He looked out over the endless expanse of black branches and buried roofs, entirely content to just share the freezing, beautiful silence with you while the rest of the world slept beneath the heavy snow.

- Gravity Wins ⛸️
"The problem with modern interpretation of ice skating is that people rely too much on momentum rather than structural physics," Lyon lectured, standing on the edge of the jagged, frozen lake. He was wearing a pair of rusted, 19th-century ice skates he’d salvaged from his art studio, looking entirely out of place with his asymmetrical clothes and clicking chains. "It’s all about the distribution of weight along the spine. Watch." You stood safely on the snowbank, holding an old-ass camera that kept shaking and glitching, its lens heavily fogged by your breath.
Lyon took one tentative step onto the mirror-clear ice. His 6'3" frame swayed precariously, his visible cold-toned veins tightening on his slender hands as he balanced. He pushed off. For three glorious, entirely unexpected seconds, he actually looked incredibly graceful. His ruffles caught the wind, his dark red palette cutting a striking figure against the gray ice, and he looked every bit the professional model he claimed to be.
Then, reality struck. His left blade caught a deep, jagged ridge in the ice. With a dramatic, sudden gasp, Lyon’s arms windmilled wildly in the air. His golden cat hairclip flashed mockingly in the dim twilight as his legs flew completely out from under him. Thud. He didn't just fall; he face-planted spectacularly, sliding a good three feet across the ice before his pretty face buried itself entirely into a fresh, fluffy snowdrift at the edge of the lake. He lay there perfectly still, his long body stretched out like a fallen soldier. You held the camera steady, capturing every single frame of the glitchy catastrophe. Slowly, Lyon lifted his head, shaking loose snow from his tousled black hair and spitting a mouthful of frost onto the ice. He glared up at you, his maroon eyes burning with a childish, completely shameless pout. "The lake is clearly poorly maintained. I'm suing the town council."

- The Wrath of Grandma Ruby 🎸🧹
The frosted windows of Lyon’s third-floor art studio were vibrating so hard they threatened to shatter right out of their wooden frames. Inside, the space was a magnificent, chaotic disaster zone—a beautiful mess of half-carved wooden sculptures, drying oil canvases depicting red spider lilies, spilled paint pots, and loose sewing patterns. In the center of it all stood Lyon, his heavy leather boots planted firmly among the ruffles of an unfinished dress, absolutely shredding on an electric guitar.
He was blasting through Slipknot's "Duality," his fingers flying across the fretboard to mimic the crushing, down-tuned opening riffs. The dark pop chords and heavy metal distortion tore through the uninsulated building, the floorboards trembling violently under your feet. Lyon was completely in his element, banging his head so hard his tousled black hair flew wildly, the golden cat hairclip catching the low light as he hammered out the aggressive rhythm. It was loud enough to wake the dead, and more importantly, loud enough to wake the living.
The heavy wooden door didn't just open; it was slammed against the wall with a deafening crash. There stood Grandma Ruby. The local Karen of the neighborhood was wrapped in a massive tartan shawl, her face twisted into a mask of pure, unadulterated outrage. But she wasn't just yelling. In her hands, she wielded a heavy, frozen mop like a medieval broadsword, its strings stiff with ice.
"Turn that demonic, unholy racket off, you absolute miscreant!" she shrieked, swinging the mop in a wide, terrifying arc that narrowly missed a plaster bust of a Roman emperor. "I have a migraine, and my walls are sweating because of your bass! What in heaven's name is a Duality?!"
"Run!" Lyon yelled, his eyes lighting up with an immediate, joyful panic. He didn’t even bother unplugging the guitar, tossing it carelessly onto a pile of velvet ruffles as the feedback shrieked through the amplifiers. He grabbed you by the wrist, his grip iron-tight, and dragged you straight toward the open window leading to the iron fire escape.
Ruby lunged forward, the frozen mop whistling through the air and clipping the tail of Lyon’s black long jacket. The two of you tumbled out into the freezing air, bolting down the slippery iron stairs, laughing hysterically into the misty snow while the furious grandma waved her mop from the window above, her colorful curses fading into the heavy winter fog.

- The High-Stakes Maid Dress Duel 🪨
The apartment was dimly lit by a single, flickering oil lamp that cast long, dancing shadows across the walls. Every square inch of the brickwork was covered in vibrant, chaotic murals painted by the neighborhood's resident drunks during late-night benders, giving the room a strange, surreal atmosphere. Outside, the Siberian winter howled like a wounded animal against the glass, but inside, the air was thick with a competitive, suffocating tension.
On the worn-out wooden coffee table between you lay the ultimate penalty: a frilly, black-and-white medieval-styled maid dress, complete with intricate lace and silver clicking chains, which Lyon had meticulously custom-sewn himself for a fashion competition. "The rules are absolute," Lyon smirked, leaning forward over the table. His silver navel piercing caught the low light of the lamp, and his fingers tapped a slow, rhythmic pattern against the wood. "Whoever loses this round has to put the dress on. No coat, no sweater. And you have to stand out on the balcony in the misty fog for exactly three minutes while the local kids walk past."
The subtle scent of sweet cinnamon, old books, and a faint hint of red wine hung heavily between you. You both raised your right hands, fists clenched, staring deeply into each other's eyes. Lyon’s dark maroon eyes locked onto yours, a challenging, completely shameless grin stretching across his blood-colored lips. He knew he had a horrible poker face, but his sheer confidence was terrifying.
"Jan..." Lyon chanted, his voice dropping into a low, playful rumble as his hand hovered in the air.
"Ken..."
Your eyes tracked the slight tensing of his slender, cold-toned veins. "Po!"

- The Black Amber Captive 🐈⬛
The alleyway tucked nicely beside Ivanka's closed mechanic shop was dark, narrow, and choked with deep, undisturbed snowdrifts. The world felt completely frozen here, a dead space where the heavy winter fog settled like a shroud. You and Lyon were walking back from downtown, the snow crunching softly beneath your boots, when a faint, raspy, and incredibly pathetic meow echoed from beneath a rusted piece of sheet metal.
Lyon stopped dead in his tracks. Without a single word, he dropped straight down to his knees in the freezing, dirty slush, completely ignoring the dark stains ruined across his favorite black sweatpants.
"Hey... stay quiet a second," he whispered, his usual loud, assertive demeanor completely melting away. He carefully lifted the rusted iron, his slender hands moving with a rare, deliberate gentleness.
Peeking out from the frozen darkness was a tiny, shivering kitten. It was midnight black, its fur matted with frost, but its eyes were magnificent—striking, glowing amber orbs that looked like burning coals in the misty Yakutsk gray. It hissed weakly, baring tiny teeth, but it was too cold to move. "Oh, look at you, you ferocious little thing," Lyon murmured, his face softening into pure, unadulterated cinnamon-roll warmth.
Without a shred of hesitation or fear of being scratched, he scooped the stray cat up, instantly tucking it securely inside his thick, red knitted sweatshirt against his pale skin. The kitten poked its tiny head out from his collar, its shivering slowing down as it
immediately began to purr like a tiny engine against Lyon's neck. Lyon looked up at you, his fangs peeking out as he smiled. "You're mine now. Your name is Obsidian. Let’s go buy some heavy cream from Kyros."

- Detention Chips 🏫
The detention room at Blackwood High was the bleakest place in the entire town. It was drafty, freezing, and smelled permanently of wet wool, floor wax, and old ink. Mr. Quinquina had placed you and Lyon at opposite corners of the room as punishment for Lyon’s latest stunt—he’d managed to steal Principal Sully’s backup wig and replace it with a live, incredibly angry crow.
The grumpy teacher sat at the front desk, his heavy winter coat wrapped tight, glaring at the ticking wall clock and writing furious notes in his ledger. He gave double the punishments for the slightest movement.
The moment Quinquina turned his back to write a lengthy, agonizing essay prompt on the chalkboard, Lyon went to work. With practiced, silent precision, he gripped his wooden desk and dragged it inch by inch across the creaking floorboards, moving only when the chalk squeaked against the board. Within two minutes, his desk was slammed right next to yours. From the deep, oversized pocket of his black hoodie, he pulled out a crumpled, greasy paper bag of salted potato chips.
"He can't double our punishment if we're already in hell," Lyon whispered loudly, flashing his white canines in a wicked grin. He shoved a massive handful of chips into his mouth, crunching deliberately loud right in the silent room, and extended the bag directly to you. When Quinquina whipped around with a furious scowl, his ruler cracking against his desk, Lyon just stared back with wide, completely innocent maroon eyes, slowly chewing his chips without a single ounce of regret or fear.

- Masterpiece on the Wall 🧑🏻🦲
The night was thick with a heavy, fog-like haze, the kind of weather where you couldn't see five feet in front of you. Perfect for sabotage. You and Lyon sneaked behind the main brick building of Blackwood High, the only sound being the distant, eerie howling of the Siberian wind through the bare, black branches of the trees.
Lyon shook a heavy can of dark spray paint, the rhythmic clicking of the ball inside echoing sharply against the frozen bricks.
"Watch a true artist at work," he whispered, his silver dangling earring chiming softly as he shifted his weight. His movements were fluid and practiced. He possessed an incredible talent for arts and commissions, but tonight, his passion was pure, unfiltered pettiness.
With quick, sweeping strokes, Lyon began transforming the bare, snowy brick wall. Under the dim, flickering streetlights, a massive, highly detailed mural began to take shape through the mist. It was a caricature of Principal Sully, drawn with terrifying anatomical accuracy, except his head was painted with a hyper-reflective, blinding gold paint. Lyon had spent hours mixing it to ensure it would catch the morning sun perfectly, emphasizing the principal's absolute baldness. He even added little painted sparkles radiating off the shining scalp.
He stepped back, wiping a smudge of black paint off his ashy pale cheek with the back of his hand, looking at his masterpiece with immense, prideful satisfaction. "Beautiful. It really captures his inner emptiness and structural lack of style. Quinquina is going to weep when he sees the shading on the ears."

- The Neighborhood Snow War 😔☃️
The downtown square was alive with a chaotic, violent energy. Local kids were running amok through the deep drifts, tossing packed snowballs at each other with wild, unfilmed joy, their laughter echoing through the early 19th-century streets. You and Lyon were crouched low behind a massive, heavily fortified snow fortress, ducking as a relentless barrage of flying ice chunks exploded against the frozen walls. A group of aggressive middle schoolers had you completely pinned down.
"We need a flanking maneuver," Lyon hissed, his dark maroon eyes scanning the battlefield as he packed a fresh, hard snowball with his slender hands. Suddenly, a massive shadow fell over your fort. You both looked up to see Grandma Ruby standing there, wrapped in her thick shawl, her face twisted in a look of ancient, feral competitiveness. The nostalgic winter air and the sight of the chaos had awoken something long forgotten within her.
"Out of the way, amateurs! Let a professional show you how it’s done!" she hollered, a youthful, wild fire in her eyes. She scooped up a massive, heavy chunk of packed snow, wound her arm back like a seasoned baseball pitcher, and hurled it with terrifying velocity. Smack! It struck the lead middle schooler dead in the chest, sending him tumbling backward into a drift.
"Yes! Get 'em, Ruby!" Lyon cheered, jumping up onto the snow wall to join her victory dance, waving his hands in the air.
Buoyed by the absolute adrenaline of the moment, Ruby tried to twist her body quickly to scoop up another round of ammunition. But before her hand could even touch the snow, an audible, deep, and horrifying CRACK echoed through the frosty air.
"Oh, my sweet heavens, my lumbar..." Ruby groaned, her eyes rolling back slightly as she instantly froze in an awkward, bent-over position, her face twisting in pure agony.
Lyon’s triumphant grin vanished in an instant, replaced by sheer, wide-eyed panic. "Ruby! Don't die on us!" he yelled, dropping his snowball and rushing forward with his long legs, completely abandoning the fort to hold the poor, broken grandma upright while the local kids continued to pelt you all with snow.
