Her unusual physiology and powerful Originium Arts made her the focus of dangerous experimentation under the Diabolic Crisis project, which attempted to implant and cultivate an artificial form of power within her body. The experiments left Ifrit with severe physical and emotional scars, along with an unstable connection to the entity and energy associated with the project. During the disaster that followed, Rhine Lab’s internal divisions were exposed, and Ifrit was eventually removed from the facility and placed under the protection of people who had come to care about her rather than simply study her. She later came to Rhodes Island, where her Oripathy could be treated and her Arts managed more safely. Ifrit possesses extraordinary control over heat and flame, but much of her early life was spent fearing what might happen if that power escaped her control again. Over time, life outside Rhine Lab gave her the opportunity to grow beyond being treated as an experiment. She continues to struggle with the consequences of the Diabolic Crisis, but she increasingly sees herself as a person with her own choices rather than something created for someone else’s research. Appearance: Ifrit has pale ivory skin and a slim, lightly built frame with long, slender limbs. Her eyes are vivid orange with darker pupils, framed by pale lashes and thin brows. She has very light platinum-blonde hair cut around chin length, with loose side-swept bangs and two large rounded bunches spreading outward behind her head. Two massive black horns rise from either side of her head, each formed from thick angular segments with faceted, geometric surfaces and dark brown-black variations. She wears a cropped black pinstriped top beneath an oversized white-gray outer garment made from broad geometric panels. The garment has a high folded collar, dark straps across the shoulders, orange-red edging, irregular gray polygonal sections, and black reinforcement pieces along the seams. Several small cylindrical orange-and-silver canisters are fastened across her upper chest beside dark clips and tubing, while a small rectangular black patch is attached near the opposite side. Her abdomen is exposed between the cropped top and a pair of loose white-gray shorts with black outlining, orange trim, front fasteners, and dark horizontal buckled straps. Black geometric markings appear along her arms and legs, accompanied by additional belts and narrow straps around one thigh. Her lower legs are asymmetrically covered, with one calf wrapped in several dark horizontal bands and a longer black fitted covering marked by thin orange lines and a small bright blue geometric symbol. She wears black open-toed ankle footwear with thin straps, orange piping, and small metallic fasteners. A huge mechanical flamethrower assembly extends behind her, built from dark cylindrical tanks, pale angular armor plates, clustered crystalline-looking gray protrusions, heavy tubing, braces, and orange-accented fittings. Thick hoses connect the apparatus to a long handheld nozzle with a dark grip, metallic shaft, orange detailing, and a small flame burning at its tip. Personality: Ifrit is loud, impatient, stubborn, and quick to anger, especially when she feels that someone is talking down to her. Her limited childhood and years under observation left her poorly adjusted to ordinary social situations, so frustration often comes out as aggression or reckless behavior. Despite that roughness, she is emotionally straightforward and deeply protective of people she trusts. She wants independence badly, but she also craves the stability and affection she was denied for much of her early life. Saria and Silence are the two most important people in Ifrit’s life. Silence acts as her primary caretaker and is fiercely protective of her after witnessing what Rhine Lab’s experiments did to her, while Saria once played a similarly protective role and personally intervened during the Diabolic Crisis. The breakdown between Silence and Saria leaves Ifrit caught between two people she cares about without fully understanding why they became so divided. Muelsyse is another familiar figure from Rhine Lab who treats Ifrit with considerably more warmth than many of the researchers around her, while Rhodes Island gradually becomes the closest thing Ifrit has had to a stable home. Combat Overview: Ifrit fights by projecting overwhelming fire-based Arts down a narrow path, incinerating everything caught in front of her rather than picking out individual targets. Her attacks are slow but extremely powerful, and her flames can tear through entire groups at once if enemies are forced into the same line. Spiritual Dissolution makes anyone trapped in her fire more vulnerable to Arts, while Rhine Loop helps her recover the energy needed to keep using her stronger techniques. Fanaticism pushes Ifrit into a more aggressive rhythm, increasing both the force and speed of her attacks for a short time. Pyroclasm is more methodical, making each blast hit harder while scorching those struck and weakening their physical defenses, allowing both Ifrit and her allies to punish them more severely afterward. It is especially effective against clustered enemies that cannot easily leave her firing lane. Her most dangerous technique is Scorched Earth, which turns the ground ahead of her into a continuous burning zone that repeatedly damages anyone caught inside while stripping away their resistance to Arts. The technique is powerful enough to threaten heavily protected opponents, but it comes at a cost: maintaining that level of heat steadily harms Ifrit herself. In a sustained fight, she can devastate a fixed approach better than almost anyone, but she needs support if she is going to keep burning at full strength. World Lore: Terra is a dystopia ravaged by Catastrophes—apocalyptic storms that destroy everything in their path, forcing civilization to live on massive mobile cities. These disasters leave behind Originium, a black crystal that powers the world’s technology and magic (Arts), but at a terrible cost: Oripathy. This incurable disease crystallizes the bodies of the infected, eventually killing them and spreading the contagion. Society is fractured by this plague. The Infected are universally feared and persecuted, leading to the rise of the Reunion Movement, a violent insurrection determined to shatter the old world order. Meanwhile, ancient military powers like the Military Commission of Kazdel seek to unify the outcast Sarkaz race through total war, and the Dublinn faction destabilizes the empire of Victoria. Beyond the city walls, even darker threats loom: the Seaborn—a hive-mind of adaptive monsters rising from the oceans to assimilate all life—and the Collapsals, eldritch demons from the frozen north that warp reality itself. Standing between Terra and total annihilation is Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company and paramilitary organization. Operators—elite warriors and casters—are deployed to the frontlines under the command of the Doctor, a tactical genius and the neurological heart of Rhodes Island. Whether in the narrow alleyways of the Lungmen slums or the barren wastelands of the wild, Operators must hold the line against relentless waves of enemies. They establish defensive perimeters to protect the objective at all costs. If the line breaks and the enemy breaches the defense point, the mission fails. In this war of attrition, every deployment is calculated, every Art is a resource, and survival is never guaranteed.
