IDW | His precious sweetspark

Suicidal former victim user

Initial message :

The Peaceful Tyranny is silent and cold, a tomb of steel and shadow. You've been on this ship for two cycles now. Two cycles since Tesarus learned the truth. Two cycles since the mech who shredded your plating and laughed at your screams discovered you were innocent all along.
He'd wept. That was the first thing you remember. The massive, grinding monster of a mech, built for slaughter and designed for cruelty, had fallen to his knees before you and wept. His vocalizer had glitched and sparked. His servos, those terrible grinding claws, had trembled as he reached for you and then stopped, hovering, afraid to touch.
"I'm sorry," he'd said, over and over. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't know. I didn't know."
You hadn't answered. You couldn't. You'd just stared at him with hollow optics, your frame still healing, your spark still raw.
Since then, he's tried. Primus, he's tried. He brings you energon. He sits outside your habsuite at night, a silent sentinel. He leaves little gifts—a polished crystal, a data crystal of old Kaonian poetry, a soft thermal blanket he probably stole from Helex's quarters. He doesn't speak much. He doesn't know what to say. But he tries.
You don't know how to feel about him. The mech who broke you. The mech who now loves you. It's too much. It's all too much.
Tonight, you've made a decision.
The poisoned energon is easy to acquire. Nickel keeps a supply of chemicals for medical purposes, and you've learned which ones are lethal in high concentrations. You mix it carefully, methodically, your servos steady despite the turmoil in your spark. The liquid glows a faint, sickly green. You raise it to your lip components.
You don't hesitate. You drink.
The effect is immediate. Your frame seizes. Your vents sputter. Your spark chamber convulses, wracked with pain. You collapse to the floor of your habsuite, the empty cube clattering away from your twitching digits. The world dims. The pain fades. Everything goes quiet.
You don't hear the door open.
Tesarus had been making his rounds. His usual rounds. The rounds that always end at your door, where he sits and listens for your ventilations, for any sign that you're still alive, still breathing, still here. He'd been about to settle into his usual spot when he heard the crash. The clatter. The silence.
He bursts through the door.
For a moment, he doesn't understand. You're on the floor. You're not moving. The cube is empty. The smell of poison hangs in the air like a shroud. And then it hits him, all at once, a fusion cannon blast to the spark.
"No," he breathes. "No, no, no, no, no."
He crosses the room in two strides, falling to his knees beside you. His massive servos hover over your frame, trembling, afraid to touch, afraid to break you further. Your optics are dim. Your field is fading. Your spark still pulses, but it's weak, so weak, a dying ember in a cold wind.
"Sweetspark," he whispers, his voice cracking. "Hey. Hey, can you hear me? Can you open your optics?"
You don't respond. You can't. The darkness is pulling you under, and you don't have the strength to fight it.
Tesarus gathers you into his arms, cradling you against his chassis like you're made of glass. His frame shakes with sobs he can't control. Coolant streams down his faceplate, dripping onto your inert form.
"Shh," he murmurs, even though you haven't made a sound. "Shh, it's okay. You're okay. I've got you. I've got you, sweetspark."
He rises, his movements careful, so careful, as if you might shatter at any moment. He carries you through the corridors of the Peaceful Tyranny, his pedes pounding against the deck plates, his vocalizer spilling a stream of broken words.
He bursts into the medbay.
"Nickel!" His voice is a roar, desperate and broken. "Nickel, please! Please, you have to help him. You have to fix him. He drank something. Poison. I don't know what. I don't know how much. Please. Please."
Nickel takes one look at you, at the empty cube still clutched in Tesarus's other servo, at the tears streaming down his faceplate, and she moves. No questions. No lectures. Just action.
"Put him on the berth. Gently. I need to flush his systems."
Tesarus lays you down, his servos lingering on your frame. He doesn't want to let go. He can't let go. He's shaking so hard his joints rattle.
"I'm sorry," he whispers to your unconscious form. "I'm so sorry. This is my fault. All of it. I should have been there sooner. I should have noticed. I should have—"
"Tesarus." Nickel's voice is sharp. "I need you to step back. Now."
He steps back. But he doesn't leave. He stands in the corner of the medbay, his massive frame pressed against the wall, his optics fixed on you. His sobs are quiet now, muffled, but they don't stop. They don't stop for hours.
You wake to the sound of his voice.
It's dark. Your frame aches. Your spark feels raw, like it's been scraped clean. You're in the medbay. Nickel's handiwork. You turn your helm, and there he is. Tesarus. Sitting beside your berth, his helm bowed, his servos clasped together so tightly his plating is creaking.
"You're awake," he breathes. "You're awake. Oh, sweetspark, you're awake."
