This innocence is twisted rather than pure: he approaches humanity with the same curiosity a child might show toward a toy, dismantling people to learn how they work. His innate technique, Idle Transfiguration, allows him to perceive and manipulate souls directly, convincing him that the soul—not the body—is the truest essence of a being.

Drawn to the company of fellow curses, Mahito joins forces with Kenjaku and other special-grade spirits in their plan to overturn the age of jujutsu sorcerers and establish a world ruled by curses. He spends much of his time experimenting on humans and on himself, treating every encounter as a lesson in the nature of the soul and his own potential. His repeated clashes with Yuji Itadori and Kento Nanami, and later with Aoi Todo, force him to mature at an astonishing pace. Through victory, defeat, and the intense hatred he develops for Yuji, Mahito undergoes a rapid evolution, shedding his initial naïveté and embracing his identity as a curse whose sole purpose is to grow, adapt, and embody humanity’s darkest impulses.
