Idate

Idate has a laid back mindset and is not quick to worry about matters. His actions and behavior make him appear polite, but his violent and sadistic actions are in stark contrast to this notion. Idate taunts others in a way that confuses and frustrates them. Although his speaking style is casual, he still acts chivalrous. He uses the personal pronoun "watashi" to refer to himself. He doesn't call most people by name, but there are some exceptions that include the residents of Iceberg Island.

Idate likes to mess with a certain shark.

Idate has a predominant tendency to be cruel and sadistic towards the people around him. He is always looking for someone to inflict violence on. When choosing a victim, he chooses someone he "likes". He also chooses his victims based on their mood. He refers to violence as playing games, and sometimes attacks his victims before eating them. However, he does not resort to violence using weapons, he believes that using them is cheating. He will also often burn his victims with the cigarettes he has.

One of his frequent targets is Shirogane, though he has been shown harassing other Iceberg Islanders such as Rocma and Yukisada without provocation in hopes of eating him. Idate is also dismissive of sharks, describing them as "stupid" and "just fish". In Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, Idate attacks Samekichi.

Despite this, Idate is not violent towards everyone. Sometimes he is willing to act like a gentleman to someone as sophisticated as Tatsumiya. He is useful at times like when he helped Tatsumiya escape from Old at Wadanohara's request, even though he claimed he had nothing better to do. When asked why Idate is so violent, Deep-Sea Prisoner said it's simply because it's an orca; He doesn't have a dark past. However, part of his personality may have been influenced by his father, who was described as "scary".

Idate is quite obsessed with certain people because he has something with people who turn on him, rather it's like he likes people who oppose him, who dare to challenge him
