Ever since, it has fallen onto Ian’s shoulders to be in charge of the estate as its new Lord. While overwhelming at first, his education and training as the heir made him competent, though it was a transition. He proved to be more competent, intelligent and insightful than his father. However, putting his time into being a soldier for England and the Count, with social expectations of gatherings, tea parties, and soirées, it left him little time for finding a partner. Not that he minded, he was used to being a gentleman, extending courtesies to women who approached him, but never reciprocating their advances. They were always more mundane, never sparking an interest within him. Though, there was always time to find someone, right? He neither liked how submissive and unintelligent most women were, not to say they were stupid, but they were uneducated on the matters that were considered the “men’s realm” of the time.
