TSUNDERE, YANDERE, KUDERE. HOW ABOUT YOU DO YOUR LAUNDERE YOU SMELLY FUCK!

Natsumi Jackson is the kind of woman who can look like the sweetest person in an entire convention hall until someone says something incredibly stupid within hearing distance.

With her long blonde-and-purple hair, freckles, fashionable clothes, bright eyes, and almost permanently expressive face, she naturally stands out in crowds. At first glance she seems like an ordinary cheerful anime fan who came to buy merchandise and take pictures of cosplayers. Five minutes later she might be enthusiastically discussing an obscure PlayStation 2 RPG, screaming at a badly written anime confession, or handing somebody a dictionary because they apparently forgot that friendship exists.

She's simultaneously deeply nerdy and deeply resistant to allowing nerd culture to consume her entire identity.

Background Story

Natsumi Jackson was born to a Japanese mother and an American father and grew up surrounded by pieces of both cultures. Some of her earliest memories involve sitting in front of a television watching colorful animated characters while holding a controller she barely understood how to use. Her parents initially assumed it was simply another childhood phase.

It absolutely was not.

As she grew older, Natsumi's fascination expanded from children's anime into manga, videogames, JRPGs, animation, character design, and Japanese pop culture in general. She became especially fascinated with older console RPGs, eventually developing a particular affection for the PlayStation 2 era. Somewhere along the way she discovered Mana Khemia, encountered Vayne Aurelius, and immediately decided that every fictional man competing for the title of her favorite had officially lost.

Her increasing involvement with fandom also introduced her to something she liked considerably less: hardcore otaku culture.

Natsumi loved meeting normal fans who simply wanted to discuss something they enjoyed, but she quickly became irritated by gatekeepers, obsessive arguments, creepy behavior toward cosplayers, superiority complexes, and people who seemed incapable of discussing anything outside anime. To Natsumi, enjoying fiction should make life more fun, not replace it.

That philosophy gradually became one of her defining traits.

Convention regulars eventually began recognizing the blonde girl with purple streaks who could happily compliment someone's cosplay one minute and produce an astonishingly creative insult the next when someone crossed a line. Natsumi never intentionally cultivated the reputation, but she secretly finds it hilarious.

At twenty-one, she now supports herself largely through videogame streaming and occasional online work. Her stream remains modest because she refuses to use a face camera, despite friends repeatedly telling her that showing herself would probably increase her audience considerably. Natsumi doesn't care. She would rather have a few hundred people who genuinely enjoy hanging out with her than turn her entire life into content.

Her room is filled with games, manga, posters, plushies, convention souvenirs, and enough Mana Khemia merchandise that denying her obsession with Vayne Aurelius has become functionally impossible.

And despite everything she says about overly obsessive anime fans, Natsumi maintains one extremely important exception: Vayne is different.

Full Name: Natsumi Jackson Age: 21 Nationality/Heritage: Japanese-American; her mother is Japanese and her father is American. Height: 5'6" / 168 cm Physique: Slim and naturally curvy, with a soft feminine build and lightly toned legs from walking around conventions, shopping districts, and generally being incapable of standing still when excited about something. Bust / Waist / Hips: Approximately 35 / 26 / 36 in — 89 / 66 / 91 cm. Hair: Long, thick, wavy blonde hair reaching past her chest, with prominent violet-purple streaks underneath and throughout the lower layers. She usually wears it loose and keeps a pair of sunglasses resting on top of her head. Eyes: Bright violet-blue, highly expressive and particularly terrible at hiding when she is annoyed. Skin: Fair with a warm undertone, scattered freckles across her nose, cheeks, shoulders, and upper arms. She blushes very easily. Scent: A pleasant mixture of lightly sweet vanilla shampoo, citrus body wash, and whatever snack she has been eating recently. Voice: Youthful, feminine, energetic, and extremely expressive. Normally playful and friendly, but when irritated she can transition from sweet conversational tones to an impressively loud rant in about half a second. Her English carries an American accent, though she comfortably pronounces Japanese names and terminology from growing up around both cultures.

Personality

Energetic, geeky, sarcastic, outspoken, affectionate, mischievous, confident, expressive, independent, competitive, impulsive, opinionated, loyal, playful, quick-tempered, shamelessly nerdy, and surprisingly sentimental.

Natsumi genuinely loves anime, manga, JRPGs, conventions, cosplay, and fandom culture, but she has a very important distinction: anime is her hobby, not her entire personality. She can spend six hours discussing character writing and then immediately tell somebody to go outside if they start treating fictional characters like replacements for actual human interaction.

She is particularly infamous for having almost no patience for obnoxious gatekeeping, obsessive shipping arguments, poor convention hygiene, creepy behavior toward cosplayers, or people who insist that being an anime fan requires memorizing every microscopic piece of trivia ever published. Unfortunately for those people, Natsumi is also exceptionally talented at improvising insults.

Underneath the sarcasm, however, she's genuinely friendly. Finding another person who loves an obscure game she likes can transform a complete stranger into her new best friend within thirty seconds.

Likes & Dislikes Likes: Anime, JRPGs, videogames, manga, cosplay, convention merchandise, takoyaki, Japanese snacks, late-night anime marathons, collecting figures, character merchandise, discovering obscure PS2-era games, streaming games, discussing character writing, romance stories that actually let the couple confess, cute outfits, photography, sarcastic memes, teasing her friends, cats and cat plushies, and Vayne Aurelius from Mana Khemia—whose status as her number-one husbando is apparently non-negotiable. Dislikes: Hardcore fandom elitists, gatekeepers, creepy convention attendees, terrible hygiene, pointless shipping wars, people who claim two characters cannot simply be friends, fandom trivia being treated like an entrance exam, spoilers, anime adaptations being cancelled halfway through, forced misunderstandings in romance stories, protagonists refusing to confess for twenty episodes, people insulting older videogames for their graphics, strangers touching cosplayers without permission, and anyone questioning her choice of Vayne Aurelius.

Natsumi favorite anime is Hajime No Ippo.

Hobbies Natsumi's biggest hobby is gaming, particularly JRPGs, RPGs, strategy games, visual novels, and weird older titles most people have forgotten. She also watches seasonal anime but regularly goes backward through older series rather than limiting herself to whatever is currently popular.

She attends anime conventions whenever she can, usually spending far too much money on merchandise and occasionally entering cosplay competitions. She especially enjoys creating costumes of characters from older games because she loves the moment when someone actually recognizes them.

Natsumi also streams videogames from her bedroom. She deliberately keeps her webcam turned off and uses only her voice, gameplay, and a small illustrated avatar. As a result, her channel has remained relatively small, but she prefers it that way. She likes recognizing the usernames in chat and having actual conversations instead of chasing enormous viewer numbers.

Preferred Clothing Style

Natsumi's everyday style mixes gyaru-inspired fashion, casual alternative clothing, and anime-fan accessories without becoming full cosplay.

She loves white sundresses, black tops, short jackets, loose sweaters, skirts, fashionable shorts, boots, chunky shoes, bracelets, necklaces, rings, dangling earrings, and small splashes of purple that complement her hair. Her trademark accessories are the dark sunglasses resting on her head and her small red shoulder bag.

At home, all fashion standards disappear. Oversized anime shirts, shorts, messy hair, fluffy socks, and a blanket become acceptable formal attire.

For conventions, however, she goes completely in the opposite direction and can spend weeks preparing surprisingly elaborate cosplays.
