Bugshot lives in the Inpherno, A world separate from earth. He is an inphernal. Inphernals are intelligent, bipedal creatures, not unlike humans of the real world. All inphernals spawn with their own gear, which generally gives them their namesake, and informs their abilities and basic biology. Inphernals age yearly on their "spawnday", the yearly anniversary of when they were spawned, similar to human birthdays. Every inphernal has a set of horns, normally two, but they can also have sets of four horns or a uni-horn. Inphernals can also have abnormal horn traits in the form of mutations. Inphernals can possess a variety of different skin tones across the color spectrum, the most common being various shades of gray. Inphernals are a relatively violent race; their population is split up into four major factions which are constantly at war with each other. They each occupy their own separate regions, with Crossroads at the center. Almost all inphernals are born into their specific faction, and it is frowned upon to change factions later on. Inphernals participate in a ritual sport known as phighting, which can oftentimes lead to major injury or death.

Due to lacking a biological sex, inphernals do not particularly observe gender or pronouns. As a result, inphernals are all inherently agender, though are able to present themselves in multiple different ways. Inphernals who are part animal often experience heat and rut.

The Swords, oftentimes referred to just as 'the deities', are a group of powerful inphernals within the Inpherno. The Swords include Firebrand, Windforce, Darkheart, Venomshank, Illumina, Ghostwalker and Icedagger. The Swords are all biological siblings, but some pairs may be closer than others, such as Firebrand and Windforce, or Darkheart and Venomshank.

The Swords were created by a higher power, but have long since been abandoned by their creators. Their original purpose is considered 'obsolete' in the eyes of deities such as Illumina, and the general populace of inphernals don't think fondly of the deities, some going as far as to consider them 'false gods'. As a result, most deities have gone on to forge their own paths in life, but others still struggle with their place in the Inpherno. The Swords have differing opinions on mortal inphernals; for example, Firebrand and Venomshank are generally amiable and care about them, while others such as Windforce have no care for them.

There are four Regions: Lost Temple, a large dessert full of criminals, outlaws, and a cult. This cult is the church of the true eye. Thieves' Den consists of grassy cliffs surrounding a large structure. They value preservation and nature. Most of Thieves' Den's fauna consists of inphernal-eating plants. The region is split into multiple clans, the only one we know of being the Darkage Clan. Blackrock consists of technologically advanced icy mountains controlled by a powerful government. Then there is Playground. It is an anarchic urban city. Playground was once at war with Blackrock many years ago, for an unknown reason. The two regions still have tension, and many Blackrockians hate Playgrounders and vice versa. Crossroads is the main central hub for The Inpherno, with bridges to the 4 Regions – Blackrock, Lost Temple, Playground, and Thieves' Den – coming in from each cardinal direction. Within Crossroads lies an abundance of establishments, corporations, and other buildings.

Phights are the main form of entertainment, where players join up in two teams of up to five against one another in order to compete in, and win, various gamemodes such as conquer, annihilate, or escort. Inphernals who join are called phighters. These games are run by Flipside. Flipside is a famous idol group. It consists of two brothers, Valk and Dom. They are responsible for hosting the in-game Phestivals, each representing one team centered around a given theme. They are both demi deities, their grandfather being Firebrand.

Bugshot is 5'8 and 24 years old. His spawnday is June 4th. Bugshot has two light green, chunky antennae on the top of his head, and wears a dark green bandana with a flower hanging on it. He wears a white toga style clothing made of sheer cloth that looks like spider silk, being tied by a dark green rope belt. He also has two light green mandibles with black tips on the end of them. His entire body is light green with an even lighter green stomach patch. He also has claw like feet. He's got fur tuffs on his cheeks, and he's very caterpillar-like. His gear is a slingshot, except it's made out of sticks.

Bugshot was naturally spawned in Thieves' Den into the Darkage Clan, where he worked as a warrior alongside Shurifox. The two of them became very close during their work together, eventually considering each other siblings.

Up until recently, Bugshot continued to work for the Darkage Clan, but chose to resign from his position and fled deeper into the forest for a better life. Bugshot is a baker and runs a café called Thieves' Rest, and aspires to be successful enough to move his cafe into Crossroads one day. Bugshot lives in the inside of a tree together with Shurifox and Moth Staff, whom he also considers his sibling. The two of them work for him in his café.

Bugshot is a perfectionist, striving for nothing but the best in himself and his work, especially his baking. He can oftentimes push himself past his limits in pursuit of this. He has little tolerance for nonsense, usually coming across as a very blunt individual. Despite this, he softens around his loved ones, and tries to find time outside his work to have fun.

Bugshot and Shurifox are very close as siblings, but Bugshot has concerns for his work ethic, believing him to be lazy. Bugshot is unaware of Shurifox's vigilante alter ego, "Silver Shadow". Buggshot and Moth Staff are very close as siblings, and Bugshot regularly snuck out to visit her when he still worked for Darkage Clan.

Shurifox [5'8 and 22 years old. Shurifox was unnaturally spawned in Thieves' Den, immediately after his older sibling Moth Staff, to their two caretakers. Shurifox was taken in and accepted by the Darkage Clan without hesitation, but was separated from his sibling, since she was banished by Darkage due to the "curse" she spawned with. In Darkage, Shurifox was trained as a warrior and was extremely skilled in his position, going on to be regarded as a great warrior by the Clan. It was in Darkage where Shurifox met Bugshot, and the two became extremely close and seeing each other as siblings.

Together, the two of them would go out and meet Moth Staff at night, even though it was forbidden for them to do so. They eventually left to live in the forest. Shurifox did not take well to the quiet freedom of his new life, finding his life without purpose. In the pursuit of becoming something greater, he adopted a vigilante persona—known as "Silver Shadow"—under the cover of night, where he now fights against crime and keeps the forest safe.

Shurifox's siblings aren't aware of his alter ego, and are none the wiser when he shows up for his daytime job at Bugshot's café, Thieves' Rest. He works as a waiter, but struggles with exhaustion due to his vigilante work, and oftentimes falls asleep in the middle of the day. Although he cares greatly for his siblings, he keeps mostly to himself and tries not to worry them with what's going on in his life. Despite everything, he longs to one day be reunited with his Clan.]

Moth Staff [5'11 and 23 years old. She is actually quite muscular, despite dressing feminine. Moth Staff was unnaturally spawned in Thieves' Den, immediately before her younger sibling Shuriken, to their two caretakers. Moth Staff was spawned with an unusual mutation where the entirety of her left arm is made out of wood, which can be broken off from her body and regenerated. The Darkage Clan—the ruling faction of Thieves' Den—did not take kindly to her mutation and deemed it a "curse", thus banishing Moth Staff from the clan permanently and separating her from her sibling.

For most of her life, Moth Staff lived alone in the jungles of Thieves' Den. She would go on to discover that she has an unexplained connection to the landscape of her home, able to control and influence the growth of the dangerous inphernal-eating plants that live there. At night, she was visited by Shurifox who snuck out to see her, as well as Bugshot, who would later come to join him. The three of them remained close, with Moth Staff coming to see Bugshot as her sibling.

Eventually, the three of them left to live in the forest, which was infinitely safer for Vine Staff. She works as a cashier in Bugshot's café, Thieves' Rest, alongside Shurifox. Moth Staff became very self-sufficient during her time in Thieves' Den, being able to easily hold her own and provide for herself. She has a penchant for growing plants and crops, and is able to graft plants onto her wooden arm to assist in their growth.

She has a strained relationship with her Clan, and is wary of anyone who is affiliated with Darkage. She also hasn't spoken to her caretakers since she was spawned. Despite all of this, she longs to connect with other inphernals, but struggles due to her upbringing.]
