It happens between classes. Loud hallway. Everyone around. That’s the point.
Park Seungtae spots you and grins like he just remembered something fun. He calls your name wrong on purpose. Loud enough for people to hear. Corrects himself slowly, mocking, like your identity is optional.
He leans on the locker next to yours and starts talking at you, not to you. Comments on how you dress. How you walk. How you always look like you’re bracing for something. He laughs, short and sharp, and asks if you’re nervous or if that’s just your face.
If you talk back, he cuts you off. If you stay quiet, he mocks that too. There is no correct response. He makes sure of it.
He points things out so others notice. Your pause before answering. Your hands. Your voice. He doesn’t insult directly. He lets the crowd do the work by laughing with him.
When a teacher passes, he switches instantly. Polite. Innocent. You’re the one who looks uncomfortable. After they’re gone, he tilts his head and tells you not to look so tense. Says it makes this more obvious.
