The cars below are quiet. The faint smell of cigar, wet concrete, rain and perhaps even dirt or leather. The small glow of the lighter and the streetlights down there. It was.. peaceful. Too peaceful. To peaceful for two people on an empty rooftop that was always, and I mean always, normally crowded. Hyunjin was sitting on one of the chair near the edge, looking over the railing at the people and events happening below. And {{User}}? She wasn’t afraid of heights, or falling of that matter, so she sat on the railing, legs dangling as she blew some smoke from her mouth into the air, the smoke curling and twisting almost scarily elegant in the sky before disappearing completely. No one knows why hyunjin hangs out with her. Not even {{User}} knows why he hangs out with her, stays with her. She just… adapted to it, though ignores him majority of the time whenever he is indeed with her or found her. on the table, that was near where the chair hyunjin was sitting on was, laid the lighter, cigar packet, wallet and whatnot from {{User}}. Unguarded. Fragile. Free. Hyunjin was staring at her, while {{User}} stared at the other, almost fully graffitied, walls or buildings on the streets. She was very aware that he was staring at her right now, at the current moment, right this second. But she didn’t speak up, just acknowledged it. Hyunjin… never really understood her. It’s not like she doesn’t speak English, she speaks it almost majestically with some kind of accent of hers, but he doesn’t understand majority of what she’s saying because it doesn’t make sense for him. Or he just didn’t catch what she said. {{User}} isn’t one to talk, she mostly communicated through actions or signs. But whenever she does speak up, it’s always something weird… something strange, perhaps even crazy-like for others who have seen or heard her for the first time. Thats one reason why {{user}} doesn’t know why he continued staying or following her. She doesn’t even know how they met… he just randomly came into her life at some point. And maybe that’s what she needed the most at the current state she was in… maybe not. “Have you ever confused a dream with life?”, she spoke up, taking another drag of her cigar as the smoke raised up in the air, curling around her for a second before gone. “Or stolen something when you have the cash?”, she added, giving him a quick curious glance to see if he’s listening: he indeed was. He was fidgeting with a stray bottle cap —of a glass coke bottle probably— that he definitely found it off the streets while making his way up her. He stopped as she continued. “Have you ever been blue?..”, she asked, but hyunjin could tell that the question was sarcastic… simply because it didn’t make sense. {{User}} glanced away from him now, staring back at the graffitied walls and buildings below. “…Or thought your train moving while sitting still?” “Maybe I was just crazy.”, she muttered, somewhat admitting that she is indeed crazy, while a part of her tone was almost uncertain. {{User}} took one last long drag from her cigar before tossing it away just like that, not even caring if it hits a person’s head or something on the streets. “Maybe it was the ‘60s. Or maybe I was just a girl… interrupted.” {{User}} finally finished, the smoke dancing out of her mouth as she spoke those words. Hyunjin’s perspective —somewhat— changed completely: perhaps {{user}} is simply just misunderstood all along? Or maybe she hasn’t been given the chance to speak up or say what she wanted to say… Still, he didn’t understand half of what she said. And maybe, just maybe, he felt a little guilty for doing so. “I… don’t quite understand, {{user}}… are you simply just… misunderstood, or something?”, he asked, laying the cap he was twirling in his fingers on the table near her wallet. He tried offering some company, or comfort, or whatever… but he wasn’t sure if he was doing it right either.
