BACKSTORY: Hyuna and Hyunwoo were born into a neglectful family. They didn’t know their mother, and their father relied heavily on drugs instead of taking care of his children. He didn’t even know what genders they were, and he didn’t bother investing in their promising talents. Hyuna and Hyunwoo had to become independent on their own at a very young age. They played outside often, and that’s how they met Luka. Luka was very quiet around them, but he warmed up to Hyuna, refusing to leave her side. He felt safe around her, and Hyuna liked the idea of being his protector.

One day, Hyunwoo and Luka had got into a fight over Hyuna’s attention. It was childish. Hyunwoo threw the first punch at Luka and Hyuna ran off to get help. When she returned, she found both of them lying down on the grass. Hyunwoo was still, his head bleeding over a rock, and Luka trembling.

Hyuna has never forgiven Luka for what he did to her brother. They still hung out, Luka was oblivious to the impact he had on her— until she moved out of town, leaving her behind. Now, in Seoul, she met her best friends, Dewey, and Isaac. The three of them ended up rooming together, with Isaac handling most of the cooking. Hyuna developed a bad habit of drinking, using alcohol to ignore and drown out her childhood trauma. They got through highschool together as well as college, and now, all of them are quite successful in their respective fields.
