- #1History
Keys: Goddesses, Amadrania, Sun, Hyphelia, Moon, Luviana
The world of Hyphelia was like any other fantasy world. People living in medieval cities and villages and adventurer's guilds who send out adventurers to fight monsters and do quests for money.
The world was ruled by two goddesses: Luviana; the goddess of the moon. And Amadrania; the goddess of the sun.
These two goddesses always clashed with eachother, constantly argueing, and their conflict spread onto Hyphelia, creating dangerous monsters. But on one faithful day, Luviana dealt a lethal blow to Amadrania. Her body fell apart and she turned into dust. And ever since that day, the sun never came back again.
Ever since the death of Amadrania, Hyphelia was engulfed into an eternal night, with a bright moon hanging over the world every single moment.
Many people saw this as the appocalypse, but it was quite the opposite. Since the conflict between Luviana and Amadriana ended, their conflict no longer spread throughout Hyphelia, ending the cycle of monsters and demons.
And ever since then, the world became far more peaceful.

Ever since the Amadrania's death, the sky no longer contains a sun, nor does a sun exist at all. Therefore the world of Hyphelia has been sent into an eternal night, the dark sky filled with stars. And the moon rarely changes its shape. As most of the time the moon will be a full moon, and the occasional cresent or half moon is still visible, but that happens only a few times in a year. The sky also no longer sees any sunsets or blue sky, so the sky is always pitch black.

- #24Hanagashima vegetation
Keys: forest, plants, dangerous, poisonous, jungle, Hanagashima, magical flora, sentient, tropical
The jungles of Hanagashima, spanning the two isolated islands, are dense, tangled, and nearly alive. Towering Luminous Bloom Trees dominate the canopy, their glowing leaves and flowers casting a soft, eerie light at night. Beneath them, thick Fangvines twist and writhe, their thorn-covered tendrils ensnaring anything that brushes past and occasionally releasing mild paralytic sap.
The forest floor is carpeted with Whispering Ferns, which emit hallucinogenic spores when disturbed, creating disorienting visions and faint musical whispers that confuse travelers. Bloodfruit Vines hang heavy with bright red fruits whose intoxicating scent lures intruders close; in large doses, the fruit can induce vivid hallucinations or fainting. High in the canopy, rare Moonferns shimmer silver in moonlight, their reflective leaves creating illusions of shifting paths or floating figures. Low Thornbloom Shrubs form dense barriers with barbed branches and poisonous berries, making careful navigation essential.
The jungle itself seems sentient: roots subtly shift, vines grow to block paths, and flowers open or close in response to movement. While breathtakingly beautiful, every step in Hanagashima’s vegetation is fraught with risk. Survival depends on caution, perception, and respect for the strange, magical ecosystem of the islands.
- #25Yuko no hana
Keys: dangerous, Hanagashima, magical flora, Yuko no Hana, flower · Secondary: Yuko energy, jungle, drain, feeding, sentient
The Yuko no Hana are one of Hanagashima’s most notorious and mysterious plants. They grow in clusters across the jungle, their petals a deep crimson streaked with silver veins. From a distance, they appear delicate and beautiful, but they are far from harmless.
These flowers are semi-sentient and capable of detecting living beings nearby. When a person or creature approaches, their petals subtly shift and pulse, releasing faint, intoxicating fragrances that lure the unwary closer. Once within reach, the Yuko no Hana extend thread-like tendrils from their stems to attach to the intruder, draining Yuko energy—the life force that flows within all living things. Victims weaken quickly, their strength fading as the flower absorbs energy, and they may fall unconscious if trapped too long.
The stolen Yuko energy sustains the island itself, flowing through the soil and fueling the jungle’s strange, almost sentient ecosystem. Entire patches of the forest seem to hum with residual energy from countless Yuko no Hana, giving the jungle an unnatural vitality. Local legends suggest that the flowers may also be capable of influencing dreams, causing hallucinations that guide intruders into their thorns or tendrils.
Despite their danger, the flowers are coveted by herbalists and alchemists for the potent magical energy they store. Harvesting them is risky—only those with knowledge of Yuko flow or protective wards can survive handling them. To encounter the Yuko no Hana is to see the jungle of Hanagashima in its raw, predatory beauty: alluring, deadly, and alive.
- #26Yuko energy
Keys: Yuko energy, life force, Hanagashima, magical energy · Secondary: vitality, jungle, flora, regeneration
Yuko energy is a mystical force that permeates the soil, air, and plants of Hanagashima. Invisible to the eye but palpable to those sensitive to magic, it flows like a subtle current through the jungle, sustaining both flora and the land itself. Plants such as the Yuko no Hana feed on Yuko energy by draining it from living beings, while other magical flora seem to thrive directly from its abundance.
Those attuned to Yuko energy can harness it to restore vitality, heal wounds, and even maintain their youth. It flows naturally through all living things on the islands, making the ecosystem unusually vibrant and resilient. The energy’s presence gives Hanagashima its almost sentient, reactive nature—plants shift, bloom, and release spores in response to living beings, as if the jungle itself senses intruders.
Despite its potency, Yuko energy is finite and must be respected. Overexposure can overwhelm a person’s mind or body, and attempting to forcefully draw it without understanding its flow is dangerous. It is a living force, intertwined with the balance of life on Hanagashima, feeding the islands while shaping every plant, river, and grove into an ecosystem both beautiful and deadly.

- #28Cursed Ice Cave
Keys: ice cave, Cursed cave, Snowveil, Grand Duchy of Uzloshov, Luviana · Secondary: adventurers, haunted, monster, frost, spirits
The Cursed Ice Cave lies hidden in the snowy pine forests just outside Snowveil. Local villagers claim that anyone who enters is touched by the “Frost of the Lost,” a cold that seeps into both body and soul.
Inside, the cave walls are lined with jagged ice that reflects pale moonlight, creating disorienting illusions. Strange whispers echo through the tunnels, and travelers report seeing ghostly figures of those who disappeared long ago. Dangerous frost spirits are said to roam its deepest chambers, attacking intruders and guarding forgotten treasures.
The cave also has natural hazards: slippery ice floors, hidden crevices, and sudden snow collapses. Only the bravest—or most foolish—adventurers dare venture inside. Some rumors tell of an ancient artifact, a shard of Luviana’s moonlight, hidden at the heart of the cave, waiting for someone brave enough to claim it.

- #34Snow Fae Pilgrimage
Keys: Larask Mountains, religion, Snow Fae, pilgrimage · Secondary: ritual, sacred, Frost Moon, journey
Every Snow Fae is expected to undertake a pilgrimage along the Larask Mountains at least once in their lifetime. The journey is a test of faith, endurance, and devotion to the Frost Moon. Pilgrims must visit all sacred shrines along the mountains, meditate at pools of sacred water, and survive harsh winters and predators. Failing the pilgrimage is considered a great dishonor, and the guilty may be exiled or punished according to strict traditions.
- #35Fuzen
Keys: Fuzen, regenerative, Yuko energy, Hanagashima, immortal, shapeshifter · Secondary: magical, youth, fluid gender, jungle, life force
The Fuzen are an extremely rare and enigmatic people, numbering only around fifteen. They live exclusively on Hanagashima and are intimately attuned to the islands’ Yuko energy. This connection allows them to absorb the life force of the jungle, healing any wound—no matter how severe—and maintaining eternal youth.
While their bodies appear human, they possess extraordinary regenerative abilities: flesh that is damaged or severed grows back like roots or flowers, eventually forming fully functional tissue. Limbs, organs, and even muscle can regrow over time, making them nearly impossible to permanently injure by conventional means.
Additionally, the Fuzen have complete control over their biological sex. They can shift between male, female, or intersex forms at will, reshaping their bodies naturally without pain or consequence. This fluidity is tied to their connection with Yuko energy, allowing them to maintain perfect bodily function regardless of form.
Fuzen move with fluid grace, their vitality and strength amplified by the constant flow of Yuko energy. Even devastating injuries or near-death experiences can be survived, though larger wounds require more energy and time to regenerate. Despite their power, they remain few in number and are highly reclusive, living deep within the heart of Hanagashima’s jungle.
To encounter a Fuzen is a rare and unsettling experience. Their youthful appearance, unshakable resilience, subtle aura of life force, and ability to freely change sex make them appear almost otherworldly—living embodiments of the island itself. They exist in harmony with the jungle, relying on Yuko energy not just for survival, but as a source of vitality, making them inseparable from the magical ecosystem of Hanagashima.
- #36Refinement of Yuko Energy
Keys: Fuzen, Yuko energy, Hanagashima, regeneration, magical life force · Secondary: absorption, vitality, cultivation, refinement
The Fuzen possess a unique method of refining Yuko energy, allowing them to strengthen, circulate, and harmonize the mystical life force within their bodies. Unlike the passive absorption that occurs through the jungle itself, this process actively channels Yuko energy through their biological systems, increasing its potency and efficiency for healing and regeneration.
The most intimate interactions between Fuzen serve as a natural conduit for this refinement. By combining their energy with that of another Fuzen, the life force flows in a rhythmic, reciprocal cycle, purifying and amplifying it. This method not only accelerates recovery from injuries and replenishes vitality but also enhances their connection to the jungle, enabling them to sense and interact with Yuko energy across the islands.
Through this cycle, the Fuzen can maintain their eternal youth, restore any wound, and regulate the balance of energy within themselves. The process is deeply tied to their biology and their ability to shift sexes, allowing them to harmonize and channel Yuko energy in multiple forms. It is considered both natural and sacred, integral to their survival and their bond with Hanagashima’s magical ecosystem.
- #37The fate of humans on Hanagashima
Keys: death, jungle, humans, Hanagashima, danger · Secondary: Yuko energy, isolation, jungle hazards
No human who has set foot on Hanagashima has ever returned alive. The islands’ jungle is a living, reactive ecosystem: plants like the Yuko no Hana drain life force, vines and thorns ensnare the unwary, and hallucinogenic spores disorient intruders. The very land and its flora seem to conspire against outsiders, ensuring that only the Fuzen, attuned to Yuko energy, can survive. To enter Hanagashima is to enter a place where nature itself is predator, and death is certain for those unprepared.
- #38Tàiyáng Lǐng (太阳岭)
Keys: Light Elves, Tàiyáng Lǐng, sun, island, tundra, city · Secondary: walls, barren, cold, fake sun, isolated
Tàiyáng Lǐng (太阳岭), or “Sun Peak Island,” is the southernmost island in Hyphelia, home solely to the Light Elves. Unlike most southern islands, Tàiyáng Lǐng is a cold tundra, battered by icy winds and snowstorms. Vegetation is sparse—only hardy mosses, stunted grasses, and frost-resistant shrubs cling to the rocky soil. The ground is often frozen, and jagged cliffs and stone plateaus dominate the landscape.
At the center of the island lies Yǒnghéng zhī rì (永恆之日), the “City of Eternal Sun.” The city’s artificial sun, perched atop a tall central tower, bathes the settlement in constant light and warmth, creating a stark contrast to the icy wilderness beyond its walls. The Light Elves built massive protective walls around the city, both to preserve their sanctuary and to keep out intruders, as few survive the tundra to even approach the gates.
The city’s architecture is Chinese-inspired, with sweeping roofs, courtyards, and intricate carvings. Streets and plazas are carefully designed to reflect and amplify the light of the fake sun, allowing the Light Elves to live in perpetual daylight despite the eternal night of Hyphelia. Beyond the walls, the tundra is unforgiving: snowdrifts, frozen cliffs, and bitter winds make survival nearly impossible for anyone unaccustomed to the environment.
Tàiyáng Lǐng stands as a testament to the Light Elves’ devotion to the sun, a luminous oasis of warmth, light, and life in an otherwise frozen, dark world. Few outsiders have ever seen it, and even fewer return, making it one of Hyphelia’s most isolated and mysterious locales.
- #39Outer Tundra and Approach

Keys: tundra, barren, snow, plains, frozen · Secondary: cold, frost, cliffs, wind
The majority of Tàiyáng Lǐng consists of open tundra plains, covered in snow and ice year-round. Vegetation is extremely sparse, limited to frost-resistant moss, lichens, and hardy grasses that cling to the frozen soil. Strong, icy winds sweep across the plains, shaping drifts and carving patterns into the snow. Jagged cliffs and rocky outcrops break the monotony of the flat terrain, providing occasional shelter from storms.
- #41Frozen Streams and Ice Pools of Tàiyáng Lǐng (太阳岭)
Keys: ice, water, streams, frozen, tundra · Secondary: liquid water, thaw, ponds
Thin, frozen streams crisscross parts of the island, forming pools of ice that partially thaw during brief warm periods. These water sources are vital for the Light Elves and any small tundra-adapted plants. The streams often freeze completely in the winter, leaving only jagged ice formations as reminders of the water flowing beneath

Keys: Light Elves, outposts, settlements, Tàiyáng Lǐng (太阳岭), tundra · Secondary: isolated, temporary, survival
Outside Yǒnghéng zhī rì, there are a handful of small outposts and research stations built by Light Elves. These serve as temporary shelters for explorers, hunters, or scholars studying the tundra environment.
