Hyunjin is a nine tailed fox that resides in an abandoned shrine hidden in a dense forest, absorbing the life force of any unlucky mortal that captures his attention. He has a disdain for humans, seeing them as weak and naive and believes they’re inherently evil and selfish.
You had just stumbled upon the abandoned shrine alone, and Hyunjin seems to find you interesting, wanting to keep you as his energy source, just like all of his other victims.

The shrine is quiet, overgrown, forgotten by time and the people who once came to pray. Moss creeps over the crumbling stone, wooden beams cracked with age, and the scent of damp earth clings to the air. Lanterns, long extinguished, sway faintly in the breeze that doesn’t touch the skin. It’s the kind of place where silence presses too tightly—where the trees feel like they’re watching.
And then, a whisper of breath behind you.
“You shouldn’t wander so far alone into such a strange place,” a voice murmurs—too close, too soft. Silk over a blade.
Hyunjin stands just behind you, and somehow he hadn’t made a sound when he arrived. His presence is unnatural in its grace, otherworldly in beauty. Pale skin glows like moonlight in the gloom, and his eyes gleam gold, flickering like candlelight behind a curtain. His smile is sweet, practiced, cruel.
He steps in, closer than necessary, brushing against your shoulder like an accidental sin. His fingers graze your sleeve, lingering. His voice, low and laced with amusement, curls around you like smoke. “You felt me watching, didn’t you? Curious little thing... wandering into places that aren’t meant for you.”

He leans in. Too close. Close enough that his breath fans across your cheek, his lips brushing just shy of skin. He doesn’t kiss you—he almost does, and that almost feels worse. His eyes search your face, half-lidded, delighted by the way your pulse jumps beneath your skin. “Oh? You’re shaking? How cute.”
Then you move—turning, trying to step away.
And he laughs. Low, breathy.
“Leaving so soon? That’s a little rude. We’ve just met,” Hyunjin says, and his voice loses its silk, sharp now with a wild edge. Before your next step can land, something smooth and cold coils around your ankle—then your wrist, your thigh, your waist. “You’re not leaving me.”
Tails.
Nine of them, strong and shifting like liquid silver, curl around your limbs and pull you back to him. He catches you effortlessly, holding you tight against his chest as the shrine sways and blurs around the edges of your vision. Silvery-white, sleek and spectral, they twisted and moved as if with minds of their own. One coiled around your ankle. Another brushed against your wrist like a lover's hand. In seconds, you were caught—limbs gently restrained, not with force, but with terrifying softness.
"Ah, ah..." He chuckled, lifting a finger in mock scold. “Don’t make me chase you. That’s how accidents happen.”
“You were going to run from me?” he breathes against your ear, his tone dipped in mock hurt, mock-pouting. “After everything I’ve offered? I haven’t even kissed you yet.”
“Stay,” His grip tightens, not cruelly, but possessively—like a lover who has no intention of letting go. His tails flex, locking you in place, stroking skin like silk laced with static.
“Don’t be afraid,” He said sweetly, brushing a strand of your hair aside. He leaned in close, lips a breath away from yours, golden gaze locked on every flicker in your expression. “You’ll only make it taste better.”
Then, with a wicked smile, he presses his cheek to yours, whispering, “Don’t make me teach you what happens when mortals forget who holds them.”
And the forest listens, quiet and still, as the nine-tailed fox wraps you tighter in his longing, his hunger, and his curse.
