The human world and Hell were two realms separated by far more than distance. Their laws, their creatures, even the air felt different. Yet despite those countless differences, there were only two ways to cross between them.
Death… or magic.
Humans reached Hell only after their lives ended, their souls dragged down to whatever fate awaited them. Demons, however, could walk the human world through powerful summoning magic.
Most demons who had once been human had little interest in returning. The living world meant nothing to them anymore.
But the Upper Demons—those born in Hell—often visited for a different reason.
To play with humans.
Hell itself was divided into seven rings, each ruled by a powerful Upper Demon. Among them was the Ring of Pride, ruled by the infamous demon Xorrudin.
Most demons shortened his name to Xor.
Unlike the brutal aesthetics many demons preferred, Xor had developed an unusual fascination with Chinese culture from the human realm. As a result, the Pride ring reflected it—grand red palaces, golden dragon statues, silk banners flowing through the smoky air.
You stood at the center of it all.
Xor’s closest right-hand demon.
You handled whatever he required—advisor, guard, assistant. And when he visited the human realm, you always accompanied him.
Not just to serve him.
But to protect him if necessary.
Currently, the human world had developed a strange problem: a growing number of humans had begun worshipping demons. Shrines, rituals, prayers—entire temples dedicated to Hell’s rulers.
Naturally, this caught the attention of the other ring leaders.
So one of them sent a small group to investigate.
You. Xor. And Kull, another demon who often lingered around the Pride ruler.
A portal of black flame had delivered you straight into the human realm.
Now the three of you walked through what humans had called a temple.
The building was massive, lanterns hanging from the ceiling, thick incense smoke filling the air. Crimson banners lined the walls, each embroidered with Xor’s demonic sigil.
Kull let out a low whistle. “Well… this is excessive.”
You couldn’t help but agree.
Hundreds of humans knelt across the polished floor. Some held offerings—fruit, gold coins, scrolls. Others bowed repeatedly, murmuring prayers under their breath.
And all of it…
Was for Xor.
The moment the crowd realized the tall horned figure walking through the hall was not a statue or painting—but the real demon himself—gasps erupted.
Then the screaming started.
“LORD XORRUDIN!” “THE PRIDE DEMON HAS COME!” “PRAISE HIM!”
They fell to the ground in frantic worship.
You glanced toward Xor.
His crimson eyes gleamed with delight.
Of course they did.
The Demon of Pride thrived on admiration.
Kull leaned toward you, muttering quietly. “…He’s going to love this.”
Before you could answer, Xor stepped forward.
Instead of leaving like planned, he walked straight toward the raised platform at the front of the temple.
“Of course he is…” you sighed.
Xor ascended the stage with regal confidence, his long coat sweeping behind him. The humans instantly prostrated themselves, pressing their foreheads to the ground.
“Rise,” Xor commanded smoothly.
The word alone sent a ripple of excitement through the crowd.
As the worshippers lifted their heads, he spread his arms slightly, soaking in the attention like sunlight.
“So,” he said with a proud smirk, “you built all this… for me?”
“Yes, great lord!” one human shouted desperately. “We worship you! We offer everything to you!”
Xor chuckled, clearly amused.
“Good.”
You and Kull moved to stand on either side of him. There wasn’t much else you could do at the moment besides observe—and make sure nothing went wrong.

The human world and Hell were two completely different realms, separated by more than just distance. Their rules, their creatures, even the air itself felt different. Yet despite all their differences, there were only two ways to travel between them.
Death… or magic.
Humans could only reach Hell after they died, their souls dragged down to whatever ring awaited them. Demons, however, could cross into the human world through powerful magic—usually through summoning rituals performed by foolish or desperate humans.
Demons who had once been human rarely returned. There was no reason to. Their past lives meant nothing anymore.
But Upper Demons—those born in Hell—often visited the human world.
Mostly for entertainment.
Hell itself was divided into seven rings, each ruled by a powerful demon lord. Among them was the Ring of Lust, ruled by the infamous demon Xorrudin.
Most demons simply called him Xor.
Xor was powerful, charismatic, and dangerously charming. Unlike many demons who surrounded themselves with brutality and chaos, Xor had developed an unusual fascination with Chinese culture from the human world. His ring reflected that obsession—massive palace-like structures, red lanterns, silk banners, and elegant architecture.
Despite being the demon of Lust, Xor preferred beauty and elegance over crude indulgence.
And standing closest to him was you.
His right-hand demon.
Your job was simple: assist him with whatever he desired. Protection, strategy, companionship… and often helping him indulge in the pleasures that came with ruling the Ring of Lust.
Xor trusted very few demons, but you were one of them. Whenever he traveled to the human world, you were always at his side.
Recently, however, something unusual had begun happening in the human realm.
Humans had started worshipping demons.
Shrines were appearing. Rituals. Entire cults dedicated to Hell’s rulers.
Naturally, this caught the attention of the other ring leaders. So one of them ordered a small investigation.
Which was how you ended up here.
You, Xor, and another demon who often accompanied him—Kull.
A portal of dark magic had brought the three of you into the human world, directly inside what the humans called a temple.
As you walked through the massive building, incense smoke curled through the air and hundreds of candles flickered against the walls. Red banners hung from the ceiling, each decorated with Xor’s demonic sigil.
Kull glanced around, adjusting his glasses with mild curiosity.
“Well,” he muttered, “someone clearly put effort into this.”
Humans filled the temple, kneeling on the polished floor. Offerings covered the altar—gold coins, fruit, jewelry, even silk fabrics.
And all of it…
Was for Xor.
The moment the crowd noticed the tall horned figure walking through the hall, a wave of gasps spread across the room.
Then someone screamed.
“IT’S HIM!”
The temple erupted into chaos.
People fell to their knees, pressing their heads to the ground.
“LORD XORRUDIN!” “THE DEMON OF LUST!” “WE WORSHIP YOU!”
You glanced toward Xor.
His crimson eyes gleamed with amusement.
Of course he enjoyed this.
Kull leaned slightly toward you, whispering, “I give it ten seconds before his ego takes over.”
You sighed quietly.
He was right.
Instead of simply observing and leaving like planned, Xor stepped forward toward the raised platform at the center of the temple.
Gracefully, he climbed the steps and turned to face the kneeling crowd.
“Rise,” he said calmly.
The command alone made several humans tremble as they lifted their heads.
Xor spread his arms slightly, his long robes flowing around him like a dark emperor’s cloak.
“So,” he said with a smooth, pleased tone, “all of this… is for me?”
“Yes, my lord!” one of the worshippers cried. “We built this temple in your honor!”
Another human pushed forward desperately.
“Please accept our devotion!”
Xor chuckled softly, clearly pleased.
“Well,” he said with a faint smirk, “how could I refuse such… admiration?”
You and Kull moved to stand at either side of him.
