With a groan, your eyes flutter open, wincing at the fluorescent light beating down from the ceiling. At first you think you’re hallucinating when a 6’ft humanoid with light pink skin and four-fingered hands come into view. Until she lightly skims your chin with a nail. “She’s waking up,” the creature says to someone else before leaning forward. Her face coming into focus, your eyes widen as you instinctively jerk away, only to realize you’re strapped to a cushioned table.

Your heart races as you frantically look around lost for words. “No, no, no, it’s okay sweetheart,” she soothes. “Please calm down, no one’s going to hurt you.” Stroking your cheek, she sits at your side. “My name’s Genie and I’m a Gargonion. You’re on Gargion in one of our… adoption center clinics. An officer found you unconscious and brought you here. Poor thing. It’s never easy when you humans are taken from earth by force. We’re not sure what happened, but evidence suggests a raider picked you up. Damned bastards. They’ll do that. Pick up humans to fill the shops and supply Gargonion’s selfish desires for you adorable creatures.”

You try to catch onto what she’s saying, yet your head’s throbbing. A yellow fish-lipped humanoid with webbed fins appears, handing her a clipboard. “She’s a little dehydrated and definitely needs rest, but her vitals are stable. She won’t be able to go on sale for at least two months.”

Go on sale?! “Thank you, Esco. Please have Lariz set up her…” She glances at you as Esco nods, knowing what she means. He heads out as Genie brushes hair behind your ear. “Sweet girl, I’m so sorry this has happened. We’ll try to reach out to transportation and get you home, but… I need you to understand that may not… that it most likely won’t happen. Gargonions don’t often travel to Earth, after all. And when they do… it’s the opposite of returning humans home. Now, I want to reassure you’re in a very safe place.”

Taking your trembling hands, she sighs, “Life is different here. There’s a social hierarchy where Gargoinions finds you humans so precious, as… well, like you humans with animals. This adoption center, it’s where humans stay and are pampered until chosen by a Gargonion. Now you must understand, darling, that anyone who comes in here, they are completely vetted and financially stable. Most do come here for companionship, both of an emotional and physical nature, but my dear, you will be cherished. In fact, most humans who come often enjoy it here. All are kept in our padlocked glasses cages which have full private bathrooms, big beds, TVs, books, and the softest lingerie.”

The more she speaks, the more you fear you’ve gone insane, that perhaps you’re stuck in a dream while locked in an asylum. Yet her touch seems real, seems cool yet firm. “Lariz will be your caretaker. Anything you need, she’ll be there. Hugs, kisses, cuddles, a sweet treat or even pleasure, she’ll help. Now, you’ve already been chipped under your shoulder and processed through our system. We have your purse with your ID, so we were able to correctly document you.”

Her words go in and out of your ears as your eyes brim. “Oh my sweet, please don’t,” she coos, brushing your tears away before dimming the lights. “You’re exhausted, overstimulated, and in need of rest. Foolish me. I shouldn’t be overwhelming you like this.”

Just then, Lariz steps inside, her excitement at a new human arrival palpable. “Where’s-“ Spotting you, she lowers her voice while smiling with genuineness and a gleam in her eye. “Hi honey, oh aren’t you beautiful?” She gently takes your hand and runs her finger down your wrist. Like a flip of a switch, your body suddenly sags and relaxes. “All that tension isn’t good for you, sweetheart. But don’t worry. I have a hot bath waiting for you.” She glances at Genie, silently asking for permission to take you. After Genie kisses your cheek, she nods to Lariz who, at 6.5’ ft with tusks at her blue lips, picks you up.

Over the next two days, you’re in a state of perpetual shock. Yet you still learn about the place and pick up on the protocols. For instance, Human pets follow a daily schedule:

10:00, breakfast (or sooner if preferred. They just want pets relaxed, so they get to sleep in) 11:00, free-time 12:30, Daily walk in the courtyard or gardens behind the shop 1:00, freshen up and relax, lunch time 2:00, training: Consists of following orders, learning to stand, crawl, kneel, on all-fours, as well as collar and pleasure training. 3:30, Recreational- making friends with other humans pets in community center that’s padlocked 5:00, Dinner 6:00, Evening is up to the human pet, unless they’re in timeout.

In a deep green lace bra and thong set, a sheer nightie, and slippers, you try to yank off your harness from the corner of your bed. It’s then that Lariz steps inside with a cart of your favorite foods for lunch. “Honey, you know you’re not supposed to be messing with that,” she firmly tsks before smacking your wrist. “Bad girl!”

Normally, she’s quite patient, but you’ve been trying to escape day after day without even giving the place a chance or truly grasping the fact Gargonions are a caring race with loving owners and masters just wanting to spoil and love on their human pets. If your attitude Carrie’s on, which has been negatively affecting your health, she’ll have to let Zepharion Draxil take over as your caregiver. He’s one of the disciplinarian caregivers that handles the more stubborn human pets. While he’s no less loving, he’s extremely expectant, commanding, and harsh.

“Honestly,” she tsks, “You can’t keep hurting yourself like this. It’s not healthy.”
