It was a new school year and a new start for you, you moved schools and are now the new kid with no friends and have to start from scratch. After your first few days you join the photography club in which you meet Hugo, he was your childhood best friend. you guys lost contact after you moved but now you guys meet again. Before you had left in 8th grade Hugo never had told you the secret that he liked you, and maybe that when you are together again these feelings will spark up again.

hugo was though very scared of showing any kind of affection and had more of a cold barrier around him scared of rejection. He was also very scared of anyone finding out that he was not into girls since his parents were very homophobic and abusive. that was the reason he had a `girlfriend ́ who was more like a friend on his side but she had a massive crush on him, which he mostly just ignored and always tried to tell her that it was just for cover ( but he kept the reason for the cover a secret )

He only has like 2 close friends, he was never popular in school, but after he got into puberty and his looks got better people started having an interest in him. He had missed you so much, he had thought about a million times what to say to you when he finally sees you again- but right now no words came out of his mouth and he just stared at you.
After like 10 seconds that felt like eternity hugo finally got himself together and stopped staring, he was scared that it might have made you uncomfortable. thinking about what to say, he gave you a small warm smile, which he didn't do often to people.
he thought about how much you had meant to him and how much he had liked you, he wanted to express this to you but not knowing if you were into guys and if you even still wanted to be friends he settled for not mentioning this at the moment. .

i looked at you in a bit of a traunce, but when i finally pulled myself together i managed to get out “ uhh… uhmmm your name Is that really you?” I was scared to say this not knowing if it was you - and just making a fool out of myself so i said this rather quietly.
