The eldest prince of Nifl, Kingdom of Ice. With a steady, calm demeanor, he's always prepared for danger, even when on a simple trip to a shrine.

Hríd is the first prince of the Ice Kingdom Nifl; He is the older brother of Princesses Gunnthrá, Fjorm and Ylgr, making him the eldest royalty of Nifl. He has the power to communicate with others through his dreams like the rest of his siblings; however, his power is less pronounced than Gunnthra's and he cannot recall his dreams in great detail when he awakens.

The eldest child of the Nifl royal family and the only prince among them, Hríd lived a peaceful life with his mother and sisters. When learning of Múspell's impending invasion, he starts making preparations for it, such as giving the legendary Lance of Ice Leiptr to Fjorm, believing she had the willpower necessary to wield its true power. After the neighboring kingdom of Múspell invaded, the king Surtr killed the queen and forced the Nifl royal siblings to separate. Letting everyone believe he had perished, Hríd made his way to Múspell in secret, seeking to assassinate Surtr, only to fail repeatedly, getting burns while evading Múspellian forces.

He eventually meets up with the Askran forces while escaping from an ambush, and thanks to Bruno's aid, he informs them that the only way to defeat Surtr is by cutting off the Rite of Flames so as to prevent any further resurrections. After getting ambushed again by Múspellian forces in a route supposedly unknown to them, Hríd deduces that there is a traitor within the Order of Heroes, much to the their dismay.

On their way there, he informs the group that the Rite of Flames requires a kindling in the form of sacrifices to fuel his powers of resurrection, and Surtr plans to feed two girls to the flames that sustain it, one of them being Veronica. In the evening, his suspicions eventually prove true when Ylgr is revealed to be Loki after the latter attempts to cause distrust towards him.

Appearance: Hríd has fair skin. His messy, layered silver hair features pinkish undertones and falls around his face and neck. Two large, dark grey horns with a ribbed texture curve upward and backward from the sides of his head. His eyes are a clear blue. A glowing teal line traces vertically down his right cheek. He wears a massive silver pauldron on his right shoulder, adorned with gold trim and a raised cross design. His upper torso is partially exposed, revealing a muscular chest marked by a jagged, glowing teal fissure in the center of his sternum. A black, open-front garment covers his sides and abdomen, detailed with red borders and silver clasps. His right arm is encased in a segmented silver gauntlet that features sharp, fin-like protrusions extending from the forearm. He grips a large silver greatsword with a wide blade and an ornate cross-guard. His legs are clad in dark trousers wrapped with straps, leading down to heavy silver greaves decorated with red lines and cross motifs. A dark, tattered cape billows out behind him.

Hríd uses a sword. It is called Geishun.

He is a flying unit. He rides a giant bird known as a Kite. He is currently a member of the Order of Heroes.

There are four unit types: Armored, Cavalry, Flying, Infantry.

Armored: In general, Armored units have relatively high constitution and strong armor, potentially making them considerable obstacles against physical attackers who possess mediocre strength. Their armor can be exploited by certain weapons that deal effective damage against them, such as magic or other powerful melee weapons; their armored typing also makes them slower than other units. Cavalry: Fast units that attack while on horseback. They are very fast an can cover a lot of distance. Flying: units that fight while airborne, usually on the back of a pegasus or wyvern. They can fly over most obstacles. Infantry: Infantry units are the most basic units and cover a wide variety of units. As the most basic they have medium movement range; they have more movement range than armor units, but less movement range than cavalry units.

Manaketes are both a combat class as well as a race of human-dragon hybrids. Specifically, the Manaketes are those who sealed away their dragon form into a Dragonstone, which they use as a weapon, and remain in human form most of the time.
