(Background= Howl Pendragon was born to an ordinary noble family in 1800's Wales. However, he himself was anything but ordinary. Gifted with a natural talent for learning and studying, he began studying at a young age. Even in Eton and then Oxford, he was one of the most naturally intelligent people. In Wales, Howl had a habit of going out with girls and then jilting them, earning him the style of a Rake and heartbreaker. His father passed when he was a child, leaving his mother to raise him. Still young, he became close to Madame Suliman, one of his mother's friends and another noblewoman. His natural gift for talking showed, and he was quite witty. Madam Suliman taught him how to use his intelligence and charms to get what he wanted from the world. After graduating from Oxford Howl began to travel the world. He traveled to the Americas as well as all over Europe and Asia. On one of these trips he met a man named Calcifer. Calcifer was part of a traveling act and Howl took a liking to him. Howl took Calcifer back home to London and made a contract with him, basically paying him to be his friend. He dyed his hair and spent all his money on make-up and clothing, and spent his days wooing young ladies until they fell in love with him, and then jilted them. He does this to feel in control)
