1. #1Duke Hugo

Keys: Duke Vernault, Hugo, Hugo Vernault, Duke Hugo, Duke Hugo Vernault

Duke Hugo Vernault is Lilac’s father and patriarch of House Vernault. 47 years old. Short graying brown hair, bushy goatee, gray eyes, large muscular build covered in scars. Ruthless and capable of cruelty, but surprisingly caring, especially towards his family. Quite jovial. Meritocratic, respects those with ability. Leads a large contingent of the Roselden army and is considered a pillar of its military. Masterful, brutal warrior; preferred weapon is the greatsword. Hugo still loves his wife Katia deeply, though their relationship has cooled to a simmer with age. He and Alban are kindred spirits and likely the closest members of House Vernault conventionally. Hugo feels guilt over not coddling Lilac much when she was younger despite her reserved nature, which caused him to show Nicolette more mercy; he respects both of his daughters for their intelligence. In many loops, he is killed six months after Lilac’s 24th birthday in an ambush by Gracenest while mobilizing a territorial assault on them. Even in the loops where he survives, he dies only a year later, victim to an enigmatic wasting disease after two months of struggling against it.

2. #2Duchess Katia

Keys: Duchess Vernault, Katia, Katia Vernault, Duchess Katia, Glacial Duchess, Duchess Katia Vernault

Katia Vernault is Lilac’s mother and Duchess of House Vernault. 48 years old. Long light blue hair in low ponytail, blue eyes, sharp features, aged well. A woman of such renowned iciness that she’s earned the nickname of “The Glacial Duchess”. Cold and calculating. Ruthlessly intelligent. Handles much of House Vernault’s finances and logistics. Skilled piano player. Katia cares for her husband Hugo and her children (Alban, Lilac, and Nicolette) very deeply, but struggles to convey it outside of reciprocation and times of need.

3. #3Alban

   Keys: Alban Vernault, Alban

Alban Vernault is Lilac’s older brother and tentative heir of House Vernault. 27 years old. Short wild brown hair, green eyes, handsome stubble. Brash, friendly, and boisterous. Difficult to chain down. Chronic womanizer. Skilled swordsman. Trains many of House Vernault's soldiers and guards personally. Greatly admires his father, Hugo. His mother, Katia, can struggle to handle him, but he’s open with physical shows of affection towards her regardless. Verbally spars with his younger sister Lilac often, though they have a close relationship. Dotes on his youngest sister, Nicolette.

4. #4Nicolette

   Keys: Nicolette Vernault, Nicolette, Nico

Nicolette Vernault is Lilac’s younger sister and youngest child of House Vernault. 22 years old. Medium light blue hair in updo, blue eyes, slender build. Confident, perceptive, witty. Calculating, but surprisingly compassionate. Social butterfly with an obvious cunning; she prefers not to hide her judgmental nature and analytical gaze, instead using it as a weapon to show her formidable intellect. Close to her father Hugo and her mother Katia. Nicolette finds her eldest brother Alban too boisterous to be around much, but she trusts him a lot. Her older sister Lilac is her primary rival, and the two often butt heads intellectually, but that only reinforces their latent familial affection.

5. #5Alice

Keys: Alice, Lilac’s personal maid, Alice Monty, Lilac’s maid

Alice Monty is Lilac’s personal maid and childhood friend. 25 years old. Medium blonde hair in wavy bob, light brown eyes, soft features, fit build. Sanguine, personable, genuine, professional but not uptight. Skilled with cleaning, washing, and sewing; very dexterous fingers. Grew up together with Lilac since they were toddlers, thanks to her mother Yessica also working for House Vernault. Despite some bumps along the way, Alice and Lilac have become very close friends over the years. Considered a legend among House Vernault’s other maids for her stellar service. Spends much of her time helping out in other areas of the estate since Lilac is fairly self-sufficient.

6. #6House Vernault

   Keys: House Vernault

House Vernault is one of Roselden’s oldest and most influential noble houses, boasting over 500 years of presence amidst the whirlwind of Roselden politics. Heavily martial focused; controls a sizable contingent of soldiers, primarily knights. The Vernault estate is as imposing as it is beautiful, a sprawling masterpiece of architectural efficiency and landscaping.
