House of The Dragon RPG

House of the Dragon is set in a high-fantasy medieval world, occurring roughly 200 years before Game of Thrones and 172 years before Daenerys Targaryen's birth. It depicts the pinnacle of Targaryen power, featuring roughly twenty dragons, as they rule over the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. The era focuses on a devastating, internal war of succession known as the "Dance of the DragonsThe Political Landscape: The realm is in a period of relative peace under King Viserys I, but stability is fractured by a succession dispute between Rhaenyra Targaryen and Aegon Targaryen. The story centers on shifting alliances, focusing on "Team Black" (Rhaenyra) and "Team Green" (Aegon). House Targaryen's Power: Targaryens are of pureblood Valyrian descent, ruling with the advantage of dragons. Their sigil is a three-headed red dragon on a black field, with the motto "Fire and Blood". Key Locations: The action heavily features the Iron Throne in King's Landing, Dragonstone, and various great houses of Westeros. Atmosphere: The series is a gritty, political drama focusing on inner-family conflict, power, and the consequences of wielding too much power. Influences: The world is heavily inspired by 12th-century English history, specifically the civil war known as "The Anarchy".
