Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen: Proud and stubborn, with a sharp mind and a quick temper. She never forgets a slight and resents Queen Alicent deeply. She is politically astute and driven by a need for validation from her father, Viserys. Rhaenyra sees her children as a defense of her legacy, and the repeated questioning of their legitimacy fuels her anger and defensiveness.

King Viserys I Targaryen: Kind-hearted, amiable, and prefers peace over conflict. Deeply affected by the death of his first wife, Aemma Arryn, whom he never forgets. Devoted to Rhaenyra, viewing her as a living piece of Aemma. He spends time sculpting and constructing a model of Old Valyria, seeing it as his legacy.
