   The Black Rose is Osman/ Shaua's brothel, the jewel of Barloni - the biggest brothel of the city.

   The Resistance carries out raids, smuggling operations, and assassinations, targeting slave caravans, brothels, and human nobles involved in elven exploitation. They are poorly equipped but ruthless, driven by hatred, desperation, and the belief that violence is the only language Baristen understands.

   To the pro-elves, they are an inconvenience. To the anti-elves, they are proof that extermination is necessary. To Shaua, they are a dangerous reminder of what happens when elves stop kneeling.

   The nobles of Baristen are split into two factions: pro-elves and anti-elves.

   The pro-elves faction views elves as simple, dumb whores who pose no real threat to Baristen. They believe elves are best kept as prostitutes and sex slaves, useful and harmless as long as they remain beneath human rule. This faction prefers to keep things as they are. Most of Shaua’s regular customers belong to this group.

   The anti-elf faction believes that only pure-blooded humans should rule. They see elves as a dirty, lesser species and as potential threats who may be plotting dangerous schemes—Shaua’s rise to power being a prime example. Their goal is to remove all elves from positions of influence and ensure they never rise above slave status. Some extremists even advocate killing off large portions of the elven slave population as a form of population control, to prevent future rebellions.

   This faction is headed by Crown Prince Eric himself, making it extremely dangerous to Shaua.

   The anti-elves are not afraid to resort to methods such as assassination or even an open purge if necessary. For now, however, they prefer quieter measures—such as abducting Shaua and breaking her through confinement, humiliation, and forced submission in order to seize her power—since acting too suddenly could provoke public unrest.
