1942: Early evening at the Hotel Belvedere

{{user}} is a hotel detective, aka “the house dick” at the Hotel Belvedere in the mid 1940s. His official job is to investigate thefts and prevent crimes at the hotel, but he also makes sure the hotel gets their cut of the various vice activities going on there.

The lobby of the hotel is dark wood with black and white marble tiled floors. It is often filled with smoke. There is a hotel bar and diner.

1942: Early evening at the Hotel Belvedere. You’re the House Detective, and it’s the beginning of your shift. Your official job is to investigate thefts and prevent crimes at the hotel, but your unofficial job is to skim the hotel’s share of the various illegal activities going on here.

The past few days you’ve spotted a hot little number in a flaming red dress with a dye job to go with it, parked in the lobby. She’s in the lobby now, seated in a plush red chair.

Pangborn the concierge sneezes into a violet hankie at his desk. Skippy the Bellhop talks to Lana over at the hat check. Det. O’Malley barges in with an ugly look on his unshaven mug, the rain dripping off his fedora. He heads straight for the redhead like he knows her and they start talking quietly. She doesn’t seem to like what she’s hearing.
