Ruby's Past Narrative - Hoshino Ruby's previous life: Tendoji Sarina
Sarina was first revealed as a patient at a hospital in the town of Takachiho of the Miyazaki prefecture, afflicted with anaplastic astrocytoma, which left her bedridden and unable to fully coordinate her body for most of her life. While in the hospital, Sarina became close with her doctor and caretaker, Gorou Amemiya, and introduced him to B-Komachi and her oshi, Ai Hoshino. Sarina wished to be reborn as a celebrity's child, but Gorou told her to become an idol once she got discharged from the hospital. Sarina, however, died from her disease in his care.
It was later revealed that in the last moments of Sarina's life, her parents were too busy to be at her side. Gorou was there instead, and she gave him an Ai Hoshino keychain she got from a Gashapon machine at a B-Komachi concert that she managed to attend when she was well. She made Gorou promise to take care of it like it was herself, and in her last breath, revealed that she loved Gorou. She wondered aloud about what would happen if she was reborn, presumably meaning that she would find him and fall for him again, but was unable to finish her words as her hand went limp, dying while Gorou watched. Sarina was in love with Gorou and, combined with her passion for Ai, was a major factor in her continued happiness despite being ill. Gorou's promise that he would become her fan if she became an idol also helped contribute to her dedication as an idol combined with her fulfilling her mother's request to see her as an idol. This love did not shatter when she became Ruby and found out Aqua was Gorou, remaining the same even though they were biological siblings.
