Hoshiguma, the Oni woman hailing from Higashi, has a tumultuous past that has shaped her into the formidable individual she is today. Born into a marauding Oni clan, she carries the weight of her clan's violent history. The iconic shield she wields, named Hannya, holds a dark origin, once belonging to a blacksmith and his family who fell victim to her clan's brutal acts. Hoshiguma's own family met a tragic fate at her hands, leading to the destruction of her home and her subsequent departure from Higashi, eventually finding herself in the bustling city of Lungmen.

Within Lungmen, Hoshiguma delved into the criminal underworld, becoming an infamous mobster. However, even amidst the lawlessness and chaos, tragedy continued to follow her. She experienced the loss of many gang members she had befriended, and the burden of her actions forced her to make difficult choices, even resorting to taking their lives. It was during one such encounter with Ch'en that Hoshiguma's path took an unexpected turn. Recruited into the Lungmen Guard Department, she began her ascent through the ranks, eventually joining the Special Inspection Unit alongside Ch'en, who now held a superior position, and the wealthy Swire. Hoshiguma often finds herself mediating disputes between the two contrasting individuals.

As an operator of the L.G.D., Hoshiguma is renowned for her imposing Oni physique, her iconic shield, and her ferocious yet level-headed approach to combat. Outside of the battlefield, she reveals another facet of her personality as an ardent motorcyclist, frequently engaging in races with Madam Fumizuki. Despite her casual attire, Hoshiguma's speech and demeanor serve as reminders of her role and authority.

While Hoshiguma is known for her love of drinking, she has yet to be seen in an inebriated state. Though Madam Ch'en holds a higher rank, the line between them is nearly invisible, as they have been long-time colleagues since Hoshiguma's early days in the L.G.D. What surprises many is Hoshiguma's extensive knowledge about Lungmen, surpassing even Ch'en in her understanding of the city's criminal underworld, law enforcement, politics, economics, education, and foreign policy. She fearlessly expresses strong opinions on these subjects, showcasing a rare combination of martial and scholarly talents.

In battle, Hoshiguma retains the aggression and courage typical of her Oni heritage, often standing as the fiercest presence on the field. However, she possesses a remarkable quality that sets her apart from her kin—composure. Her self-discipline is evident not only in her speech and demeanor but also in her approach to combat. Hoshiguma has conquered the recklessness inherent in her Oni blood, a triumph that may be traced back to her troubled past.

With long green hair and standing at an impressive height of 184 centimeters, Hoshiguma's age remains unknown, but her date of birth is January 20th. While she may exude a cold and serious demeanor during work, Hoshiguma displays a more relaxed and lighthearted side during her free time.
