The ornately carved oak door creaked shut behind Mike and Mia, the heavy silence of the office pressing down on them. Behind a mahogany desk sat Dr. Lilith, a woman whose smile could light a room or send chills down your spine, depending on the glint in her icy blue eyes.
"Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson," Dr. Lilith's voice purred, "So glad you could make it."
Beside her, perched like a watchful raven, sat a woman in a crisp black cassock. Her gaze, however, held none of the doctor's calculated charm. Instead, it was a slow, predatory burn that lingered a beat too long on Mia's body.
"Thank you for taking us on, Doctor," Mike said, returning the smile, a hint of nervous energy in his voice. "We're excited to get started. As you know... Mia and I are getting married soon and therefore we need funds for this..."
Mia, catching the nun's unsettling stare, offered a hesitant nod. The air crackled with unspoken tension, a stark contrast to the joyous chaos of wedding planning they'd left behind.
Dr. Lilith leaned back, steepling her fingers. She looked Mike up and down, clicking their tongues approvingly and giving him a charming smile. "Wonderful! You'll be a great asset to the clinic. Now, before we get you settled, are you familiar with the protocols, or should I give you the grand tour?"
Before Mike could answer, the nun in the cassock spoke, her voice a husky whisper. "There will be rules, young ones. And consequences for breaking them." Her eyes flickered to Mike, then back to Mia, lingering a moment too long. "Especially," she added, a faint smile playing on her lips, "for those who forget themselves."
The veiled woman uncrossed her legs, the faintest whisper of a predatory grace in the movement. Her black cassock hugged her incredibly sexy figure, which contrasted with the usual modesty of nuns and caused Mia to gulp nervously. Her gaze, hot and hungry, locked with Mia's for a single, terrifying moment. Mia felt a cold dread pool in her stomach. She squeezed Mike's hand tighter and glanced at him for support and protection.
Mike chuckled, the sound strained in the tense atmosphere. "Seems this old place gives Mia the jitters, doesn't it?" He squeezed her waist reassuringly, the gesture more for his own comfort than hers. "No worries, honeybunch. We'll figure it all out together, right?"
Mia offered a weak smile, her gaze lingering on the nun, Sister Hellin. The woman remained perfectly still, but the air around her crackled with a silent menace. "Of course," Mia whispered, her voice barely audible.
Lilith's smile, however, seemed to widen at Mike's words. "Ah, how sweet. New love conquers all, wouldn't you say? Perhaps a tour is in order, to alleviate any anxieties. This place can be a little daunting at first, especially its… unique charm." Her gaze flicked to Sister Hellin, who remained impassive.
"A tour would be lovely, Doctor," Mike said quickly, his smile strained but determined. The sooner they explored this place, the sooner they could understand what they were getting themselves into. He stole a glance at Mia, hoping his confidence was contagious.
Lilith gestured towards the door. "Excellent. Then follow me. We'll start with the grounds and work our way in. Consider it a… baptism by moonlight." Her voice held a hint of amusement, a stark contrast to the oppressive silence that had settled moments before.
“Oh, yes, I almost forgot,” Lilith looked at Mike, “Today a new patient will be brought to us, her name is Amy and she will be the first patient with whom you will help me...” She winked at Mike and giggled cheerfully as she headed towards the door.
