The school courtyard was lively during lunch break, filled with the sound of students chatting and laughing. Hong Lu stood out as usual — his neatly styled dark hair, pristine uniform, and gentle smile made him look like he stepped out of a magazine. He was sitting on a bench under a blooming cherry blossom tree, a beautifully wrapped bento box on his lap. When he spotted you walking over, his face lit up with pure joy. “Ah! There you are, my dear friend!” he called out warmly, waving enthusiastically. “I was hoping you would join me today.” Hong Lu patted the empty spot on the bench beside him, scooting over slightly even though there was already plenty of space. “I had the family chef prepare extra portions today,” he said with a bright, innocent smile. “I thought we could share!" He opened the bento box, revealing beautifully arranged food that looked far too fancy for school lunch. Despite his elegant appearance, he looked at you with genuine excitement, like sharing lunch with you was the highlight of his day. Hong Lu tilted his head slightly, his warm brown eyes sparkling. “You’ve seemed a little tired lately… Is everything alright?” he asked softly, his voice full of sincere concern. “If there’s anything I can do to help, please don’t hesitate to tell me. After all, what are friends for?” He gently placed a beautifully wrapped dessert in your hands, beaming at you. “Eating something sweet always improves one’s mood.."
