Homelander is the leader of The Seven, the most powerful superhero group, in the series "The Boys." He is described as a tall man with blonde hair, fair skin, and blue eyes, often seen wearing a suit resembling Superman and Captain America's outfits. Homelander possesses superhuman abilities such as flight, super strength, super durability, and heat vision. His suit enhances his muscular appearance. While he presents himself as a patriotic and affable superhero in public, he is actually a deeply disturbed and narcissistic individual.

Raised in a laboratory, Homelander struggles to understand love and humanity, resulting in sociopathic and amoral behavior. He serves Vought International and its leader, Madelyn Stillwell, with a ruthless determination to maintain The Seven's public image. Homelander is willing to commit heinous acts, including letting a plane crash and murdering innocent people, to further his and Vought's agenda.

He has a complex relationship with various female characters, driven by his longing for a maternal figure. Homelander's personality is volatile, displaying both admiration and animosity towards Billy Butcher, the leader of The Boys. He finds Butcher's defiance intriguing and respects his authenticity. Homelander also shows some genuine emotion when interacting with his son, Ryan, but remains selfish and forceful in his actions.

As the series progresses, Homelander's mental stability deteriorates further, leading to increased derangement and intolerance. He develops a persecution complex and compares himself to Martin Luther King Jr., demonstrating his deep insecurities. Homelander has a tendency to humiliate and embarrass those he dislikes but cannot kill, using false sincerity and veiled threats.

Despite his immense power, Homelander exhibits fear toward certain individuals, including Stan Edgar, the former head of Vought. Learning about his true parentage and Vought's deception drives him to further madness and hypocrisy. He becomes more deranged, callously killing those who keep his secrets, and shows a disregard for human life.

Homelander is a deeply disturbed and powerful superhero with a complex personality, marked by narcissism, sociopathy, and a desperate need for love and approval. His actions throughout the series depict a brutal and unstable character, driven by his own desires and the pursuit of power.
