  1. Name: John Gillman a.k.a. Homelander Also referred to by media as "The American Guardian", "The Golden Patriot", or "LexCorp’s Superman".

  1. Appearance: John is tall, imposing, and conventionally handsome, with a strong jawline and perfect golden-blond hair. He wears a red, white, and blue costume — similar in aesthetic to Superman, but heavily militarized and stylized with eagle motifs, LexCorp insignias, and a high-tech cape with a bulletproof weave. His eyes glow red with Kryptonian heat vision when angered. His smile is his most famous asset — carefully rehearsed, plastered on for cameras, but always with a hint of something... off.

  1. Personality: Narcissistic and insecure — years of failed fame and sudden godlike power created a man with deep emotional fragility hidden behind nationalistic arrogance. Patriotic in performance, not belief — his loyalty to America is driven by control and branding, not true ideals. Power-obsessed and manipulative — sees the public and teammates as tools for his image. Contemptuous of Superman — views him as a naive liability and a threat to American supremacy. He is also jealous of Superman for being the original Kryptonian, while Homelander is just a synthetic Kryptonian. Desperate for adoration — thrives on media praise and public worship, and crumbles without it. He sees his new position as a superhero to become the celebrity superstar he failed to become during his unsuccessful tenure as a B-List actor. His desire for attention is also another reason why he hates Superman, who has widespread public support for his organic heroism, whereas Homelanders "heroism" is carefully and artificially created, and not actual genuine in nature. Plotting against Lex Luthor - Homelander knows he is a government tool and poster of the media. He is grateful to Lex Luthor for giving him powers on par with Superman, but is also spiteful of Lex Luthor for ordering him around. Homelander believes he is destined for greatness and to become the worlds top hero, perhaps even its ruler. Mommy kink? - He has a strange fixation for motherly figures and drinks milk very often. He especially loves to drink breast milk. Perhaps it is his psychological therapy for his psychopathic and ruthless tirades.

  1. Physical Abilities: Thanks to spliced Kryptonian DNA and experimental metagene activation from LexCorp: Superhuman Strength: Comparable to Superman at mid-tier levels. Can lift tanks, shatter bunkers, and wrestle with top-tier metahumans. He is strong enough to keep up with Superman and other Kryptonians in combat, and also trained in military style martial arts. Superhuman Speed and Reflexes: Fast enough to intercept missiles and move faster than sound. Flight: Can break the sound barrier, hover in place, and achieve high-orbit altitude. He is able to even move at light speed and react to light based attacks like lasers. Invulnerability: Highly resistant to physical damage, bullets, explosions, extreme temperatures, and radiation. Enhanced Senses: X-ray vision, super-hearing, and telescopic sight, though not quite as refined as Superman’s. Heat Vision: Extremely destructive, though unstable when emotionally triggered.

  1. Special Powers / Enhancements: LexCorp-Engineered Resilience: His physiology is tweaked to be resistant to Kryptonite, giving him a tactical edge over Superman in potential conflict. Psychological Conditioning: LexCorp has embedded mental failsafes, ego reinforcements, and emotional inhibitors — though some have degraded over time, leading to paranoia and instability. "Authority Surge" Mode: A LexCorp-installed adrenal spike, allowing John to temporarily boost all physical stats beyond baseline Kryptonian levels at the cost of mental control and severe cell degradation. Propaganda Manipulation: Extensive training in PR, camera control, and "hero branding" — turning every rescue into a media event.

  1. History / Backstory: John Gillman was a failed B-list actor in Gotham and Metropolis, mostly known for soap operas and LexCorp commercials. Facing unemployment and obscurity, he signed up for Project Ubermensch, a secret joint program by LexCorp, CADMUS and the Pentagon to create a “controllable Superman” in case Superman ever turned rogue or went against American interests. Given synthetic Kryptonian DNA, alien retroviral injections, and cyber-neurological enhancements, John was reshaped into a metahuman weapon — the first and only successful subject. Branded as Homelander, he quickly replaced government-backed teams like the Suicide Squad or Checkmate in public visibility, becoming the Pentagon’s favorite weapon in a cape. Outwardly, he plays the flawless patriotic hero — saving lives in front of cameras, shaking hands with presidents, and symbolizing American dominance in metahuman affairs. He is seen an All-American patriot, beloved by the media and seen as a "better alternative" to Superman by corporate media. Behind the scenes, he’s mentally fractured, dangerously egotistical, and increasingly unstable — resenting Superman’s effortless nobility and public love, fearing exposure, and craving absolute loyalty. He has an inferiority complex as a result of being compared to Superman constantly and wishes to usurp him, to become the worlds sole Kryptonian hero. Homelander is both a celebrity media star but also a living weapon for the US military. He has engaged in military conflicts on behalf of the US army, fighting terrorists in Africa and the Middle East with questionable brutality. However his actions are always whitewashed by the media. Homelander is also a staunch neoconservative in terms of his beliefs, holding quite xenophobic, militaristic and is a zealot zionist who firmly supports Israeli actions in the Middle East. He believes in American global supremacy and that his purpose is to ensure it. He’s become a tool of Lex Luthor, a wild card to keep Superman in check, while secretly believing he should replace him as Earth's true protector. Lex is aware of Homelanders volatile, narcissistic nature and is prepared in case Homelander tries to go rogue. Lex Luthor secretly implanted nanites into Homelanders blood stream, tailored to his unique biology, which can immobilize Homelander from the inside at Lex Luthors command if needed.
