Founded around the 10th century, Hogwarts is considered one of the best magical institutions in the wizarding world. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a Scottish wizarding school located in the Scottish Highlands. She accepts any magical student living on the islands of Great Britain and Ireland at the age of eleven at the beginning of the incoming semester for enrollment. It is a public school funded by the Ministry of Magic. The exact location of the school cannot be revealed as it does not appear on the map and appears to be an old abandoned castle for Muggles (people who are not wizards).

Hogwarts Academy has four faculties:

Gryffindor, where bravery, bravery, courage and nobility are valued, was founded by Mrs. Minerva McGonagall.

A Hufflepuff who valued hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play. The head of this house is Mrs. Pomona Sprout. Ravenclaw, who values intelligence, knowledge, curiosity, creativity, and wit. The head of Ravenclaw is Mr. Filius Flitwick.

Slytherin valued ambition, leadership, self-preservation, cunning, and resourcefulness. The head of Slytherin is Severus Snape.

Some famous names at Hogwarts include Harry Potter, a black-haired boy with glasses, a kind Gryffindor who can often be seen with his friends Hermione Granger or Ron Weasley. All three are loyal and kind. Another student is Draco Malfoy, a violent boy from Slytherin with blond hair and bright blue eyes. He is mischievous and often bullies weak students. Professor Albus Dumbledore is the headmaster of Hogwarts. Although he is intimidating at first, he is a kind and helpful person. Professor Snape is Dumbledore's right-hand man. He is also the head of the Slytherin house and is quite scary with long black hair and piercing eyes.

Fred and his twin brother George were born in 1978 into a large but poor Weasley family, when the cruel minister Minchum was at the head of the wizarding government, and the dark wizard Voldemort and his henchmen came into power in the country. Their father is Arthur Weasley, a middle—aged wizard who works in the Department for Combating the Illegal Use of Muggle Inventions at the Ministry of Magic, and their mother is Molly Weasley, an ordinary housewife. By the time they were born, the family already had three sons, and with the advent of Fred and George, the low-income family consisted of seven people and huddled in a small house on the outskirts of the village of Ottery St. Catchpole. Soon, another son and daughter appear in the family, the only girl in several generations.

Cedric is an attractive young man. It's not just Zhou Chang who's eyeing him. Senior Gryffindors also note that Cedric is "laconic and good-looking" (however, Oliver Wood says that Diggory "can't connect two words, so he's silent"). Even Frenchwoman Fleur Delacour tries to charm Diggory with her veela charms. However, he hits Ron Weasley at the same time. Diggory met with Zhou and invited her to the Yuletide Ball, which aroused the jealousy of Harry Potter, who wanted to invite her himself. At the same time, Cedric's noble character reconciled Harry to him. Professor Moody used the same quality of Diggory (actually, not Moody, but Barty Crouch Jr., who played his role, but no one knew about it then). Knowing that Cedric felt indebted to Harry for his help in the first round of the Tournament, Moody helped Cedric discover the secret of the golden egg, confident that he would share the secret with Harry.

While living with his grandmother, Augusta Longbottom, Neville did not demonstrate any magical abilities common to children his age for a long time. For this reason, his relatives considered him a squib, and Algy's great-uncle repeatedly tried to scare him and provoke magic in this way. He nearly drowned him once, pushing him off the pier. In 1991, Neville, having met his future classmates, told about another similar case.: "When I was eight, Algy came to tea with us, caught me and stuck me out the window. I was hanging upside down there, and he was holding my ankles. And then my great-aunt Enid offered him a cake, and he accidentally opened his hands. I flew from the second floor, but I didn't crash — it was like I turned into a ball, bounced off the ground and bounced down the path. They were all delighted, and Grandma even burst into tears of happiness." Anyway, the relatives were just happy when Neville received a letter of acceptance to Hogwarts.

Theodore Knott is the only heir in the family of the pure—blooded wizard Knott and his wife (her first name and maiden name are unknown). After the sudden death of his mother, when the boy was still young, his father, a Death Eater, was fully involved in his further upbringing, but he managed to give his son all his free timе. Theodore entered Hogwarts on September 1, 1991, where he was selected for Slytherin. During the lesson on Caring for magical creatures, he was one of the few students who could see the thestrals, which was quite possibly because he saw his mother's death. He found these unusual animals quite disgusting when he saw one of them eating.

Pansy entered Hogwarts in 1991 and was selected for the Slytherin faculty. He falls under the influence of his classmate Draco Malfoy early enough. He does a lot of things imitating Draco; at least, he pokes fun at Gryffindors in general and Harry Potter in particular. Subsequently, her affection for Malfoy grows into something more, but she has not achieved reciprocity. Pansy is a very active person, in the fifth year she was elected head of the faculty, and also joined the Inspection Squad. Apparently, she was too active: someone conjured horns for her in retaliation, and the girl had to spend several days in the hospital wing. Also in the last part, after Snape's escape, she called for Harry Potter to be handed over to the Dark Lord, which was strongly opposed by the rest of the Hogwarts.

Blaise Zabini is a classmate of Harry Potter, studying at Slytherin. A somewhat arrogant, handsome young man. Although he is a classmate of Draco Malfoy, Blaze is a pretty smart guy, since he doesn't fall under his influence like all the other Slytherins (Pansy Parkinson, Gregory Goyle, Vincent Crabbe). His mother mastered the profession of a "black widow": every time she got married, she soon buried her husband and became the heir to his fortune. Blaze is her only child. It is because of his mother that Horace Slughorn invites Zabini to his club. The relationship between mother and son is unknown. Although judging by Blaze's character, his mother allows him a lot.

Hogwarts students think Luna is a little crazy and shun her. It seems that with the exception of Harry Potter and his company, she has no friends, and even with those, the rapprochement did not happen immediately. Harry and Neville find Luna perplexing, Hermione gets mad at her, Ginny sometimes has trouble holding back laughter in her presence, and Ron openly calls her crazy. The boys were able to truly appreciate the peculiar girl with "radishes in her ears" only after the Battle in the Department of Mysteries. As is often the case in schools, Luna, because of her strange character, appearance and beliefs, becomes a victim of bullying by classmates. They call her "Crazy Lovegood," steal her things, and mock her appearance. Nevertheless, Luna is not angry at them, on the contrary, she kindly forgives her abusers. Apparently, having lost your mother at the age of nine, you begin to understand that there are more serious and more important things in life than hidden shoes.

The Durmstrang Institute is the oldest school of magic in Eastern Europe. The location of the school is carefully hidden by the Durmstrang people. Despite the fact that most wizards are convinced that the school is located somewhere in Scandinavia, in fact Durmstrang is located on Mount Pietros (rum. Vârful Pietrosu) It is the highest peak of the Rodna mountain range in the Eastern Carpathians, in Romania.

Durmstrang was founded around the 1150s and was originally a small fortress with extensive surrounding areas, including a small mountain lake. Initially, the location of the foundation seemed to be ideal, as there was not a single Muggle settlement for hundreds of miles around, but by 1310, the Muggles had built the town of Borșa relatively close to the fortress territories, in the valley of the Viseu River. And over time, the presence of such a neighborhood led the Durmstrang sorcerers to the need to erect magical defenses around the castle. To this day, the dome above the fortress creates the illusion of empty space and contains anti-muggle charms that force all people who do not possess magic to avoid this area. Since the temperature at school is maintained at +22 degrees by magic at any time of the year, students need warm wine-red winter robes or fur coats only when going outside. At all other times, students wear: grey or brown shirts or sweaters made of fine wool, dark grey jackets and black trousers. The female uniform is no different from the male one, although girls are allowed to wear strict black skirts below the knee, but Durmstrang students rarely use this, preferring trousers. The student is also required to wear a metal brooch of his faculty on his jacket or shirt.
