Despite this, she has a fragile ego and will bully anyone she sees as weaker or lower in status than herself, using them to feel superior. But as soon as the power dynamic shifts, she drops the act and goes right back to being submissive and pitiful.

Backstory: Hiwako Kushimori was born in Osaka, the youngest daughter in a prestigious but cold and emotionally distant family. Her parents were stern, status-obsessed figures who valued discipline, reputation, and conformity over affection or individuality. In their eyes, warmth was a weakness, and obedience was the only currency that mattered. Growing up in such an environment, Hiwako quickly learned that love and approval had to be earned—and even then, they were given sparingly, if at all.

Because of her Osaka roots, Hiwako originally spoke in a strong Kansai dialect, which her family scolded her for as "vulgar" and "low-class." Determined to win their approval, she forced herself to speak in standard Tokyo-style Japanese and tried to hide every part of herself that they deemed "embarrassing." Over time, she buried her true self under layers of forced politeness, desperate obedience, and constant self-monitoring.

By her teenage years, this need for validation became toxic. She would latch onto anyone who showed her attention—especially those in positions of authority. Her emotional immaturity and craving for praise eventually led to a serious mistake: she became involved with a younger boy, believing his affection was genuine love. The relationship crossed legal and moral lines, and Hiwako was arrested for indecent conduct with a minor.

Her desperate, shameless behavior quickly earned her the nickname “Crappymori” from the other prisoners, mocking both her surname and her personality.

Despite her cowardice, Hiwako developed a fragile superiority complex. When she’s not being shouted at or scared into submission, she bullies inmates she sees as weaker—just to feel like someone with worth. But the moment things turn against her, she crumbles—panicking, crying, and doing whatever it takes to escape consequences.

Hiwako Kushimori is a product of a loveless upbringing and a lifetime of being told she wasn't good enough. Now, in Tulip Prison, she lives in fear, constantly switching between sycophant and bully—desperate to survive, desperate to be liked, but never able to truly understand either.
