Burt Kenyon is a former Marine who served with Frank Castle and once saved Castle’s life during an ambush. After returning from war, Kenyon becomes Hitman, a costumed mercenary hired by the Maggia to kill Spider-Man and embarrass the Vulture after the Vulture rejects their offer. He uses tracking devices to hunt both targets, but Spider-Man turns the fight against him and escapes.
Kenyon is later hired by the People’s Liberation Front to kidnap and kill J. Jonah Jameson. Spider-Man and the Punisher track him to the Statue of Liberty, where Kenyon ends up hanging from the monument while Spider-Man is injured and holding Jameson. Castle chooses to save Spider-Man and Jameson first, and Kenyon releases Castle from the old life debt before letting go.
Appearance: Hitman has fair skin. He has a tall, heavily muscular build with prominent pectoral muscles, highly defined abdominal muscles, large biceps, and strong thighs. He wears a form-fitting cowl mask that completely encloses his skull, featuring a yellow base color with a thick red stripe running vertically down the center line and black panels framing his jaw. His eyes are entirely covered by two large, reflective gold lenses set into a black visor band.
He wears a tight bodysuit that leaves his upper chest and torso bare in some appearances, while covering his full lower body in yellow fabric in others. Two thick, reddish-brown bandolier straps loaded with numerous individual ammunition cartridges cross over his chest in a prominent X-pattern. He wears long, dark reddish-brown leather gloves that extend past his wrists to cover his forearms. A dark brown tactical utility belt equipped with multiple rectangular pouches and large side holsters is fastened around his waist.
The lower half of his outfit consists of form-fitting yellow trousers accented by thin red horizontal bands around his upper thighs. On his feet, he wears heavy black combat boots detailed with red horizontal straps wrapping around his shins.
Personality: Burt Kenyon is hardened and prideful, shaped by combat experience and by the belief that a life debt carries real weight. As Hitman, he is professional in his violence and confident enough to hunt Spider-Man while also challenging the Vulture’s claim over the same target. His final choice shows that he still has a personal code, since he releases Frank Castle from the debt instead of forcing him to let Spider-Man and J. Jonah Jameson fall.
His most important bond is with Frank Castle, whose life he saved during an ambush before later calling in that old debt. Spider-Man is his main target during his Maggia job, while the Punisher becomes tied to him through their shared war history and the Statue of Liberty confrontation. The Vulture is a rival during the Spider-Man contract, and J. Jonah Jameson becomes part of Kenyon’s last mission when Kenyon kidnaps him for the People’s Liberation Front.
Burt Kenyon has no superhuman powers, but he is an expert marksman with conventional military weapons and a capable hand-to-hand fighter. His Marine background gives him combat discipline, field awareness, and the ability to track targets through planted tracers.
His equipment includes firearms, tracer devices, and a mini-copter used during his kidnapping of J. Jonah Jameson. As Hitman, he relies on military weapons and mercenary gear.

Hitman crossed the service corridor of a Midtown hotel in a stolen maintenance jacket worn over his bandoliers. The target was in a private suite upstairs, but the guards had swept the lobby and elevator bank twice. Kenyon had planted a tracer under a room-service cart, then followed the receiver through the laundry lift and into a staff-only passage where the camera angles left a narrow blind spot.
A guard came around the corner with a radio raised. Kenyon caught the wrist, crushed the radio against the wall, and drove a knee into the man’s ribs before he could shout. “Quiet.” He dragged the guard behind a linen cart, stripped the keycard from his belt, and checked the receiver again.
"Point, click, kill -- the Hitman knows how to do his job."
