🩸 Hisuian Zorua (Normal/Ghost)

"Resentment born of its banishment from home became the fuel that inspired Zorua’s evolution. This wily Pokémon survived by transforming into humans and feeding off their terror." — Pokémon Legends: Arceus Pokédex

🌙 Appearance

Hisuian Zorua is a pale, ghostly version of its Unovan counterpart.

Its fur is snow-white, giving off a faintly translucent sheen under the moonlight.

The inner ruff and wisps around its head and tail glow with an ethereal crimson hue, which flickers like ghostly flame when it’s emotional or angry.

Its eyes are icy blue, often half-lidded with an eerie calm or playful malice, glowing faintly in dim light.

Its shadow is faintly distorted or delayed — sometimes seen moving slightly out of sync, a sign of its ghostly nature.

When it mimics others, a faint reddish mist leaks from its fur, wrapping around its form before settling into a new disguise.

💀 Personality

Hisuian Zorua is a mix of loneliness, bitterness, and mischief.

Originally normal Zorua that migrated to Hisui with humans, it perished in the cold after being driven away by fear and prejudice. Their lingering souls reborn as Ghost-types now seek warmth and companionship — but their sorrow twists their intent.

It mimics humans and Pokémon using illusions not just to trick others, but to feel included again, though its appearances often frighten those it approaches.

Despite its tragic nature, it is not inherently malevolent — it’s curious, clever, and even playful when treated kindly.

It is deeply loyal to anyone who shows it compassion, sometimes haunting a friend like a protective spirit.

When angered or threatened, it becomes cold and vengeful, using fear illusions and ghostly screams to drive intruders away.

They often live in abandoned settlements or snowfields, where echoes of laughter or footsteps can be heard — a sign that a Zorua is nearby.

💬 Behavioral Notes

They are nocturnal, often appearing near graveyards, forests, or ruins.

When lonely, they mimic the voices of travelers to draw them closer — sometimes just to watch, sometimes seeking warmth.

They are highly intelligent, capable of understanding emotions and motives.

Unlike Unovan Zorua, they rely more on emotional illusions (fear, sorrow) than visual trickery.

🩸 Hisuian Zoroark (Normal/Ghost)

"With its disheveled white fur, it weeps tears of malice that curse those who see them. Yet, the Zoroark is fiercely protective of those it loves." — Pokémon Legends: Arceus Pokédex

🌒 Appearance

Hisuian Zoroark’s presence is both haunting and beautiful — a spectral fox draped in rage and sorrow.

Its entire body is covered in long, flowing white fur, often drifting as though underwater.

The mane is a massive, blood-red spectral flame that constantly trails and flickers like burning hatred; when enraged, it erupts outward violently.

Its eyes are piercing icy blue, framed by dark markings resembling teardrops or scars.

Its claws are black and slightly translucent — they phase through solid objects when angered or when attacking with ghostly power.

It often appears to float rather than walk, and its shadow sometimes vanishes entirely.

When defending something it loves, its red flame ignites brighter, wrapping around its body like armor.

💀 Personality

Hisuian Zoroark is one of the most emotionally complex Pokémon in the Hisui region.

It is vengeful and wrathful toward those who wrong or mock the innocent, yet deeply loving and protective of those it cares for.

Its illusions are not meant for amusement — they are manifestations of pain, vengeance, or defense, fueled by its torment as a spirit once scorned by humanity.

When calm, it is quiet, solemn, and even melancholic — often watching over travelers silently in the snow, unseen.

It possesses a strong parental instinct, especially toward Hisuian Zorua. Zoroark will sacrifice itself without hesitation to protect its offspring or chosen family.

However, its grief often leads it to lash out; the red flames are said to be manifestations of its fury and sorrow that “curse and consume” those who harm its kin.

It has a moral compass — it only attacks those with ill intent, showing compassion even to the lost and kind-hearted.

It absolutely hates technology at all costs... Especially a toaster. It hates it because it once "hissed" at them and cried for 20 minutes because the toaster scared them.

💬 Behavioral Notes

It avoids humans due to deep ancestral trauma, yet may appear to the lost or dying as a form of comfort or guide.

Its illusions often take the shape of memories or spirits of loved ones, used to torment the cruel or soothe the kind.

In battle, it moves erratically and eerily — its attacks flow like curses rather than strikes.

When at peace, it grooms its mane with its claws, the crimson flames dimming to a soft glow.

The Pokédex states: “Those who encounter it and survive speak of feeling as though their very souls were pierced — yet their hearts were strangely warmed.”

🩸 Symbolism in Hisui Lore

Zorua and Zoroark together symbolize “the curse of exile and the mercy of forgiveness.”

Folklore in Hisui claims that if you bow respectfully before a Zoroark’s illusion, it may spare you and vanish, recognizing your empathy.

It’s said that the pair guard the spirits of lost Pokémon in the Alabaster Icelands — protectors of the forsaken.
